C.D. Reiss

CD Reiss is a New York Times bestselling author. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.

She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping a single cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

★★★★★! Dominance, Book 8 of 8! Stories of four woman dominated by the same man, during different times!

For a limited time these four novellas will be available as a bundle! [AMAZON LINK]

“You’ve been a bitch, goddess. That’s over. From now on, you step when I say walk. You eat when I feed you. You come when I allow it. If I so much as look at your knees, you get on them and open your fucking mouth.”

The Submission series is the whirlwind saga of aspiring singer Monica Faulkner and hotelier and real estate magnate Jonathan Drazen. Books/novellas should be read in order:

Four short stories from the Songs of Submission universe:
1. JESSICA (to read after Submit)
A smile spread across my face, and I laughed so hard I had to pull over. Laughter overtook me, turning to tears and back to a deep, silent laughter in my chest again. From relief. From a break in tension. From sheer joy. I was free. Fucking free.

So, this is a very short story describing what happened between Jessica and Jonathan before he left for San Francisco. It is given from Jonathan's point of view and the best thing here is that Jonathan was not lying to Monica.

2. SHARON (to read after Submit)
Jonathan will say his goodbyes to his submissive mistress,Sharon, in San Francisco. It looks like he wants to dedicate himself to Monica.
At least Sharon looks nicer than Jessica. Jonathan is still the same cocky man.

“You going to be okay without me?”
“You only show up once a month, and you’re too gentle anyway.”

And before the book finishes, we learn that there is also a Rachel in the picture. Hah?

3. RACHEL (to read after Burn)
“Free, Jonathan. I wish to be free.”
I unpinned one of her shoulders to pluck a seeded dandelion out of the grass.
“Blow,” I said, holding the white puffball in front of her.
She blew hard, and the seeds went into my face. We laughed, and blew the rest of the seeds off together, wishing her free from the constraints of her family and her scarcity. They floated away on their sinuous parachutes, like little messengers to God, saying take me, take me, take me. Set me free.

Who is the girl with the viola?
What happened to Rachel?

A short story from Jonathan's point of view with two flashbacks:
-From the engagement party of Jonathan and Jessica
-From the night Rachel had the accident

Rachel, Rachel, I am sorry.

I had more questions than answers when I finished this story.

4. MONICA (to read after Sing)
A short story from Jonathan and Monica's life that it works as a bridge between Sing and Coda.

Jonathan: She was mine to lose, but she was mine.
Monica: I missed two things. I missed my freedom, and I missed slavery.

This novella was, undoubtedly, the best book of the series and I believe it's due to the inclusion of characters who seemed more developed than the MCs.

Yay! Finally we get one that doesn't end with a cliffhanger! Maybe the series should end now??? Anyway, as of now, this one is my favorite of the series. Things take a very drastic turn for Jonathan which changes everything about Monica and Jonathan's relationship.

A more detailed review will be posted under sequence 3 after I finish listening to it it.

I absolutely love this bundle! The submission series is by far one of my favorite series I have ever had the pleasure of reading.
Having all of Jonathan's POV's in one place is wonderful! I enjoyed getting to read each novella and picking up little tid bits of his life that had such a huge impact.
I feel like I got to know Jonathan Drazen as a whole. I felt right by his side as he changed and became the Dom he was meant to be.
It was intimate, eye opening and a delight to put together the pieces of his life.

*Jessica- This novella is the insight I was craving for.... I wanted to know more about Jessica and Jonathan.
I wanted to know how their relationship fell between the cracks, I wanted to know more of Jonathan's reactions, his feelings, and how Monica set him free from the shackles of vows he had held on a pedestal for far too long.
Then to see Jessica, lonely, in need of a gentle vanilla man, jealous, on the rebound, acting like a teenager seeking attention where ever she could get it, I wanted to smack her around. After her pulling at Jonathan's heart once again then in just a few simple words she degrades him for who he is sent shivers down my spine.......
To be the fly on the wall when Jonathan had his epiphany, stood straight, walked out, and let his emotions go...... was raw and i drank in every single detail and feeling. For Jonathan to finally feel free, I felt relief for him.

*Sharon- The go to submissive in Jonathan's life I loved to death. The woman had been through the ringer and to have Jonathan and Debbie give her a second chance at her lifestyle was amazing. These two parted in a beautiful way and I actually want more of her.
This novella is a Must Read.....
Jonathan putting his puzzle back together, having almost all of the pieces in line.....Thoughts, questions, concerns rattling his brain only to be blindsided and fearing that his whole life could be in the hands of a woman full of scorn......

*Rachel- This novella packed such a punch.... To have that insight to what happened when Jonathan was younger, to experience it with him, had me sitting on the edge of my seat. To see Jessica at her prime and in love with Jonathan was to say the least, surprising. I loved that we got to see a different light of her. Reading about Jonathan's sisters, I laughed and giggled with them, and Jonathan's thoughts of them had me smirking and I want to know more about each of them. To see the Drazen Clan when they were younger is fun! But this particular Novella was deep. I literally gasped and started screaming Holy Shit with him while reading about the engagement party. I gasped at his description of the girl with the viola. And the ending of this novella my heart was thumping double time at his recognition of that horrible incident with him and Rachel.

*Monica- This novella by far is one of my most favorite reads with this series.
For this particular novella I can't give away any details. I feel as though after you read Sing you will need closure and a pick me up and this Novella will do the trick.
Jonathan the lion, the Dom, Monica's rock, shows us he is just that.
And Monica....... She is HIS.

I am checking every day, waiting to one click for the paperback version!

**SAME REVIEW FOR ALL BOOKS IN SERIES**

After seeing several recommendations for this series, I picked it up as a box set. I am glad I purchased it all together to avoid the many cliffhangers left with the end of each section. I enjoyed the overall story and the dual POV. The writing is so descriptive, especially towards singing, art, and placements (house set up, bar set up, etc) that at times I lost focus on what was going on in the scene. This set ends in a HEA, but there is another book out that details what happens between the end of the last chapter and the epilogue two years later. I've already added this to my list for future reads.

Another hit!!

This book is a group of short stories that accompany the submission series. Jonathan had relationships with four different woman. There was Rachel, Monica. Jessica and? Jonathan in order to have a relationship had to be in charge in all ways. This book was another awesome read by CD Reiss. She never disappoints.

Part 3.5: Jessica and Sharon
-Jessica-
I did not like this part because there's no excuse for Jonathan's actions, even though he redeemed himself. It would have been fine if Jessica was a likable human being rather than a bitch but no, she shoots bitch-fumes our of her ass. That exchange should have not happened especially because of the way he last left Monica.

-Sharon-
This exchange was good. I like Sharon and would not mind being best friends with her. Let's just hope she stay on the good graces of this relationship.

It's nice to see Jonathan's side but it kinda already confirmed how blind and gullible he was. How do you marry and "love" a woman if she doesn't share the same interests in bed as you? "Blinded by love" is very true when it comes to Jonathan and Jessica.

________________
Part 5.5: Rachel

Well that was interesting. I hope this was more than just a filler. It would be amazing if what I learned tied into the main series.
Some things were just meant to be.

Part 7.5 Monica

Pure sex. That's all.

I read this series in sequence, in a can't-put-them-down sort of fashion. So, I am going to copy and paste my positive experience into every book in the series because I don't remember (yes, I'm senile) which book contained which scenes. I will tell you, all the scenes are good. Not good... I take that back. Brilliant! Why? Why would I be so bold? Because you grow with this couple. You break when they break. You cry when they cry. You get angry and protective, and every other flipping emotion you can think of because DAMN Christine Reiss is just. that. good. This has been my favorite series to date, romance or otherwise. Can't get enough of it!
I can't wait for you to read this series. I hope you reach out to me to dish about it, because I am always eager to talk about CD Reiss' LA.

Overall 4 Stars...
So, ok, Mr. Drazen...sir...he puts Mr. Cross and Mr. Grey to shame, now this is a Dom...I have mixed feelings about this whole series, some parts were like...Damn, do me!...and some were...Ah, no, don't look at me, i don't exist...It was a rollercoaster of emotions and i loved it, specially the Dominance book, i wanted to cry for the next 10 years.

Monica's constant, "i'm not submissive" at the same time saying "can i come, sir?", had me gritting my teeth a few times. Own up to it woman!

The Submission Series is my first CD Reiss read and WOW I just can't put this book down, ever!! The story of Jonathon and Monica carries on through their "courtship". The BDSM isn't hardcore, it's just personal control over the other. No kink rooms or other severe treatment. Something probably many couples may try through their relationships. I loved Jonathon's character, CD Reiss defined him so well. He was strong yet showed weakness throughout the series. Monica also had a very likable character. I highly recommend this series to anyone who wants a HOT and SEXY read, that also brings you entirely into the story that you will never want to end.!!

This series was probably one of the best I have read so far this year. The author knows how to bring every emotion you have out of you. I fell in love with these characters even whn I hated them at different times. To see Monica embrace the submissive but yet still see herself as a powerful woman was beautiful. To see Jonathan embrace her and help her through the things she needed help through was great. Such a beautiful series and I am scared to read the next one with such limited time..

This is a collection of short stories and scenes from the series in Jonathan's point of view. The stories insightful, but I felt they weren't completely necessary. The information revealed in these stories was eventually revealed in the series, but if you're an avid fan of the series I'd recommend this to you.

To be fair I LOVED LOVED the entire series so this review is on that. I absolutely loved this series. Kept me wanting more each page. For a few moments I grew tired of the constant sex however the story kept me intrigued. I loved hearing from both characters and absolutely loved the rawness of the book. This series should have all the glory of the movies not 50 shades.
