Cubmastering: Getting Started as Cubmaster

Rate this book
Getting started as Cubmaster can be hard. The outgoing Cubmaster may, or may not, have trained you well. I know I was completely, utterly clueless when I was dumped into the role, and it has taken me a long time to be comfortable with it. But here's the most important thing: have fun with it. If the kids see you are having fun, they'll have fun too, and their parents will be happy.

"Cubmastering: Getting Started as Cubmaster" tells you what you need to focus on as Cubmaster. It isn't recharter or the pack budget, it's the program side - what the boys actually DO - and it can be a lot of fun. Too much worrying ruins that! This is written to help you, as a new Cubmaster, feel comfortable in your job.

Think of this as a few Pow Wow classes in a book.

Liz writes what she wants to buy but cannot find. This end result is that her books can seem very random. What is the connection between wedding planning, zombies, Cub Scouts, and the US Constitution? Only (as far as anyone knows) Liz's interest.

Right now, she is working on another Cub Scout book and two zombie books - one full length, one shorts.

Liz would love to hear from you at Liz@LizLongAuthor.com. Have a great day!

Was hoping for more content, but it was a good overview for someone who just picked up the role.

A good overview of what makes a good Cubmaster.

If you have just been gang-pressed into being Cubmaster, or you are being asked to be an assistant Cubmaster you should read this book.

It covers the basics of what makes a good Cubmaster and orients you on the sometimes impenetrable world that is the Boy Scouts of America.
