Manages to be worse than the movie, which is saying something. The narration strives to inject some additional humor, but ends up making the story feel campier than ever. At least the author had the good sense not to include the scene where Mutt swings like a monkey through the trees. Condensed into a two-issue story arc, INDY 4's plot makes virtually no sense, and Jones himself looks completely different from panel to panel. Sometimes he looks like Henry Winkler, other times like Greg Gutfeld, and other times like Mark Hamill. Once or twice, he actually resembles Harrison Ford!

Even though this is the least liked Indiana Jones movie, I personally didn’t mind it (saw it once some time ago). The graphic novel has actually made me want to go back and watch it again just for some mindless fun one evening.

Usual Indiana Jones shenanigans. An old character, from a previous movie, returns; new ones appear. Nazis after artefacts to help them win the war.

I had the incredible luck to have read this before it hit the shelves thanks to my job. It only took me a half hour to read the comic (my lunch break), but I could've spent hours pouring over the pages. Since everyone knows what this is about, I'm not going to waste my time talking about the plotline.

The artwork is pretty nice for a movie to comic adaptation & the artists really do try to keep the characters looking as close to their real counterparts as possible (although they do smooth out age lines & such). The pacing of the book is also nice, although at one or two points I did feel as if the plot felt a little rushed & that elements felt left out. Then again, this is usually the case with most plots that are transferred from the big screen to the comic book usually have this problem. (There's only so much you can translate without deviating from the source.)

Even so, this was a very good comic & one that would probably sell even if it wasn't a movie tie in. Would I say this about it even if it wasn't an Indiana comic? Maybe, maybe not, but it is what it is. And what this comic is is a pretty darn good ride. It won't replace the movie, but it's not supposed to.

Would I recommend this to a friend? You bet the farm I would. I'm an Indy fan to the bone & I believe that the only people who don't like the movies are ones who haven't seen them or just don't like action films in general. (Even the ones who are lukewarm still "like" the films.)

Decent adaptation of the much maligned but equally decent 4th Indy movie.

Recommended?: No gophers and no swinging with the monkeys in this adaptation. The comic is a whistle stop tour of the plot and an enjoyable half hour read.

As someone who DID like the film, I wish that this script would've been what the film actually used; just enough differences to improve the storyline. The art reminded me of the 1980s IJ comics, and seeing Drew Struzan and Hugh Fleming do covers and illustrations was great.

This was actually a really good adaptation! The art is great - the character likenesses were decent and the panel layouts were really good - lots of widescreen panels etc. Also the text and narration was well done. And I don't care what anyone else says - I like the fridge! There's a lot of equally ridiculous fun stuff in the first 3 movies if you take off your rose-tinted glasses.

This GN, obviously, suffers from the same terrible plotline that the movie it's based on does. The advantage to this is that it takes a lot less time to read than to watch the movie! Plus the art is pretty good. All in all, a decent way to waste an hour. I'm glad I got mine for cheap, though. :)

Very compact and to be honest, bad adaptation of the latest installment to the Indiana Jones franchise.

Short and sweet. Perfect to read when I can't seem to concentrate on reading two paragraphs in a row these days. The illustrations were very well done and I overall enjoyed this comic/graphic story.

Jälleen kerran vähän sinnepäin-kiva sovitus ihan kohtalaisesta elokuvasta. Hyvin ovat harvassa onnistuneet sarjakuvaversiot.
