When a strange woman shows up in his office, a woman only he can see, he realizes he needs to take some time off. Ending up in the hospital wasn't what he had in mind. Essentially, a succubus romance book, with all it entails.

I've read a few of those, and they are always a disappointment, at best, and anger inducing, at worst. This one is no different. Succubus make terrible love interests by their nature. Unfortunately, the book also has several other characters that are way more interesting and note worthy than her and made me continue the book for a good long while before dropping it.

The succubus profess her love to the main character several times throughout the book, but time and time again she just abandons him when he needs her the most, in a clear act of betrayal. And the doormat just takes it. Every time. He is even self-aware, which I don't know if it makes him better or worse, but clearly makes it worse for the author, because it makes us realize that he knew that it was such bullshit he just had to lampshade it. That, not to mention her other betrayals, which I was willing to overlook since they weren't that many and they didn't appear "on screen", and this is a succubus book, after all. And in the author's own words:
For a demonic creature of sex, there can only be one coin for payment.
80% in, and the MC finds her "working" (having sex) for his torturer and rapist, after abandoning him in a crucial part of the story in which a character died (and didn't come back like the other times characters died) while she wasn't there to help, and begs him to take her back and he just accepted it, again, and forgave her, again. 80% in! but I had to drop it. Up until that point, I could easily give this a 3-star, despite all the other problems that are not described here.

This was a great adventure romance novel with multiple female characters. There was pretty much a sexual scene in every chapter and several female love interest with plenty of drama. However it is just very long, so I skipped around but I was able to get all the major details.
