Royal

Prince Alexander Leonetti never considered marrying for love. His world is filled with duty, honor, and the crushing responsibility that comes with being born royal. Alex's life is controlled by the Leonetti Family the people of Monrovia. Until Alex meets Sarah. Sarah Abernathy has never believed in fairy tales. She learned the hard way about wishing for things that she could never have - her broken heart has the scars to prove it. Alex Leonetti drops into Sarah's life and all at once, she's living her own fairy tale. Sparks fly as Alex and Sarah embark upon a forbidden love affair that causes them to question even their deepest convictions about love. As the world conspires against them, Alex and Sarah fight for what matters most. True love matters. And sometimes, fairy tales do come true. **Royal can be read as a stand alone book or as the second book in the Royal Series. My books are full length novels with happy endings and no pesky cliffhangers at the end. ** Books in this series can be purchased individually for .99 or you may purchase all four books in the series as a bundle (The Brothers Leonetti ) for 2.99!

Royal

The s an enjoyable story, showing that royalty can have as many problems as the man on the street, in this day and. age it is worth remembering that and not to be so quick to judge.

We all know that romance books follow a pretty typical arch; main characters meet, sexual and or/emotional tension builds, there is some sort of conflict, the conflict is resolved, characters live happily ever after (often translating to marriage and a baby). Very few romance books stray from this tried and true path and even less do it successfully. I am happy to report that while Jemma Grey’s Royal doesn’t stray from this arch in the strict sense, it sure does move the boundaries. And it does it well!

The storyline itself isn’t unfamiliar; attractive American journalist meets gorgeous European prince. They fall in love. His family isn’t happy. Journalist is threatened. Both characters seriously consider ending it. Threat neutralized. Family gets on board. Happy ending ensues. What is unfamiliar is the timeline for each plot element and the details throughout the story.

The falling in love/romantic build up portion of this story takes about half the book. Aside from laying some minor groundwork for the coming conflict, there is nothing but joyous falling in love for the entire first half. I actually started to wonder if any sort of conflict was coming. I’m sure that in a literature sense this is probably a faux pas and if not done correctly it would have been annoying, but I actually enjoyed it. I can’t say that there weren’t a few parts I didn’t skimmed through, but overall I found this portion of the book enjoyable because it was relatable. Anyone who has fallen in love fast with someone not entirely expected will find themselves reminiscing on their own romance as they read.

When the conflict does come it doesn’t play out as expected. There were several times where I expected the usual dramas to happen, only to have characters make decisions that were more sensible, and actually closer aligned to what real people might do. There was also one point where in any other story something drastic would have happened when the character made an unsafe decision, but instead she came through unscathed. The minor plot twists (or lack thereof) were refreshing.

The overall theme of this book was falling in love fast and following your heart over your head. The author was able to weave this theme throughout the book in an authentic and enjoyable way. I found myself reminded of when my husband and I first started dating, and because of that this story was engaging and totally enjoyable

Just like icing

There are times when icing can be a bit sweet when taken in quantity. Like this example this book really does lay the love and fairy tale on in massive amounts. So if you like piling in icing even though your tongue is rebelling, you may be able to ingest this love story with little skepticism. The book is sound, the topic somewhat cliche but the story does hold together well and is consistent. So while I love romance, these characters were a bit too naive and love intense for my tastes. However perhaps the author will consider a bit more realism with a good storyline into the Matthias character....Love can conquer all but it doesn't have to leave a bad after taste a long the way.

This is a nice romance. You know it's not real but a fun story. Watching the good looking Prince fall in love with the girl from New york. There is problems with people excepting the couple together. There is danger, drama and lots of romance. There are some love scenes that I skipped over towards the last part of story.
I can't wait to see what happens with Prince Alex's other brothers stories.

It was hard to see the pain of his family, but does make you think twice about what a royal member has to tolerate. Alex is pulled in so many different directions while trying to protect the family. It was great that he can have a happy ending.

a prince resigned to his fate, a reporter planning to interview a king, luckily the king is busy giving this couple a chance to meet. Neither is looking for love but they find it, it's not a smooth path but when is it ever. an enjoyable book with a happily ever after ending fit for a princess
