After completing Immortal Devil Transformation, I finally found another xianxia cultivation novel with a single love interest.

I am only done with book 1. So I can't really comment about the novel deeply yet. I can only say that the ML, Qin Yu, is solely practicing martial arts now. Other than that nothing much happened. However, I can sense some deep political intrigue is going to materialize sooner or later. We're building towards that.

I am not liking the translator much, however. He uses some words repetitively. I don't know if it's his fault or the author's.

Interestingly enough, this ML has a family who seems quite pertinent to the plot that he has deep affection for. It's such a rare quality in wuxia/xianxia novel. Sometimes it feels like the main character sprouted from a stone like Sun Wukong or something🤣🤣🤣

When it comes to true cultivation (Xianxia) novels, I have only read Lord Xue Ying and this Stellar Transformations story. I enjoyed the journey of Lord Xue Ying more, but I like the ending of Stellar Transformations more.

Qin Yu's journey was very meh for me, I only really liked a few moments, such as when he used the Golden Immortal puppet to fool others. I did not like Qin Yu as a character, he was an overconfident idiot most of the time, and only around the last 100 chapters was he less annoying to me.

From the beginning to the middle of story, he kept giving random characters his real name, which allowed enemies to find his family and blackmail him, by threatening them. This happened ALL the time, you would think he would learn. And just when you thought he did, he goes ahead and proves you wrong. It was so frustrating to see him not using an alias on several opportunities.

But my main issue with this story is Qin Yu's overdependence on his Meteoric Tear. He found a mysterious crystal Tear that fell from space, and it's such a bullshit overpowered item that helps him everywhere, with everything. I don't care that it was later explained what the item was, it doesn't change the fact that it was used throughout almost the entirety of the story, to help him get out of bad situations.

This Tear fixed his meridians, strengthened his muscles, toughened his body, cured all poison, instantly healed all his injuries whenever he got them, restored his internal energy whenever he used it up, as well as hid his level of his martial soul from his enemies! And it even just so happened to contain comprehensions of the cosmos for him so he didn't have to work for that either! Gah!

Constantly reading the same sentence again and again throughout the story, on how the Tear did this or that for him, was so annoying. This Tear saved him from death So. Many. Times.

It's just bad writing to have a character over-rely on a tool, instead of having him resolve situations with his own strength. It made him overconfident, so when he ends up fighting enemies he can't handle, even with his Tear, he instead starts relying on another item, a spatial tool he received. He uses this spatial tool to hide away from enemies, A LOT, and it's just embarrassing to see him run away like a coward, after acting so confident that he could beat them.

One other thing I disliked in this story was that the author didn't have Qin Yu spend enough time studying and analyzing on how the cosmos worked. There wasn't enough description for me on the realizations that Qin Yu was having towards the spatial laws that decide how a cosmos is run. Near the end of the book there was some discussion, but for the rest of Qin Yu's cultivation, it was very vague and not much time was spent on it. The novel of Lord Xue Ying did a much better job at describing the revelations that Xue Ying had in his cultivation.

As for what this novel did well, I will say that I liked that there were less plot holes and less loose ends in this novel than in Lord Xue Ying. There was also a less lonely feeling throughout this novel, because Qin Yu had two good friends that cultivated alongside him in his journey. He would gain levels and get stronger, and they would too. It was still a mostly solo cultivation story, but it was nice to see his friends also get stronger and stay by his side. I don't like when the main character increases his cultivation level and goes to a higher realm and has to leave all the weaker characters behind that the readers have come to know and like during that period in the story.

I wasn't very satisfied with the ending, but it was a better ending than Lord Xue Ying. *shrugs*

To me this book was almost unreadable, I really liked Coiling Dragon and Desolate Era very much, so I wanted to read the author's very first novel as well. But this book is so badly translated and same information is getting repeated two or three or sometimes even more times again and again.
Still I persisted till the end of the book and found twenty two chapters of this book could've been condensed to three or four chapters.

Things are just getting started in this book. I did skip paragraphs sometimes to fast forward the chapter when there were too much technicalities explained in it. Pace is slow and sometimes fast. But determination of main MC is commendable.

Długie opisy morderczych treningów i pojedynków, wiele o honorze, dumie i odwadze.

Niemniej, słucha się przyjemnie :D

2.5 stars, I liked some parts

This book does some things right, such as not wasting tons of time on Cultivation or tribulation scenes. However, that can’t cover for the fact that there is no proper character development, and that the main character is a Mary Sue.

Characters: 1/5 I didn’t like them
World: 4/5 I really liked it
Story: 1.5/5 it was incredibly bland, but not objectively bad, so I half disliked it.

Characters:
The main character is perfect. He never really goes through any significant problems, and I’m already on book 5, many hours into the series. The main character's motivation for the whole story is just "be a good guy and do good stuff", and that doesn’t change throughout the book. It’s very bland and one dimensional.

World:
I liked how this was handled. The layout of the world and the distribution of various experts of the different levels was made very clear and very easy to understand at the start. When describing wars, no time is spent on dreary things such as battles. Instead, all we hear about is how many hundreds of thousands of troops each side has.

Story:
Mc is perfect and beats up all the bad guys using the power of his love for his family. Whoopty-do.

Worth the read for its potential.

Four now I giving 4 out 5 for potential. I see what everybody was talking about. It feels like a into not really a book. Of course I understand where this book came from which is a web novel. So I understand. At least it did not end right in the middle of something it could have been worst.

Interesting beginning, litterature lovers continue on your path because this is not even remotely close, the story is entertaining though follow qin yu as he develops from a talentless reject to something more.
Those who dislike their main character being soft and mercyful will enjoy the ride.
