In an universe far away, there is a child with innate disability to practice internal techniques. So, in order to gain the respect of his father, he resolutely chooses to follow the more difficult and painful path of practicing external techniques. As the years go by, he grows up, but what really changes his life is a mysterious meteoric crystal stone — the Meteoric Tear. This stone fuses with the young man’s body unnoticed, and he seems to undergo drastic transformations as a result. After that, everything is changed. Eventually his father knows that the son for whom he hasn’t really shown a lot of consideration possesses astonishing abilities. And there’s a lot more to come.
Well, a new arc begins in the next book. I am still skeptical of how easily they took revenge, though.
Now, I've already completed book 4 and I know it's barely 10% of the whole book. But some things in here is barely tolerable for me.
First of all, harem or not, op or not, for these type of long cultivation xianxia novel, one thing is indispensable. And that is the reader's connection with the main character. Till now, I am unable to give two fucks about this ML. He doesn't have any personal appealing qualities different from other characters that would make me root for him. If you read a fight scene without context between Qin Yu and the villains, you would be unable to tell which one is the main character. He is extremely arrogant and op. Be warned.
At least, the MC has highschool level intelligence. So that's a W for me, I guess. But for God's sake, I hope this mf matures and goes through character development later.
I've always liked when the MC in xianxia have a pet. It's a cute and emotional connection between a human and his pet and is the dream of every pet owner, I'm sure. But here, bruh, Xiao Hei, is surprisingly barely tolerable at best and annoying at worst.
Another thing I've noticed that this author is just incapable of writing any type of emotional scenes for his characters. The world-building is not worst and not the best either. But any scene remotely emotional seemed like it's written by an elementary student.
The hero isn't an underdog or a killing machine or a fighter for the goodness of the world or even a traveller. What type of character is he? I still don't know.
There is literally a war going on and there are no mention of the common people who are generally most affected by war. The biggest plothole I've encountered yet.
My biggest question though, why did Xiang Guang kill Qin Yu's mother? Like what was his motive? It's just glossed over and no one ever questions it whereas this is literally the reason behind a whole ass arc.
I do not even buy this whole vengeance shit of the Qins anymore. They are not really justified enough in my eyes. Xiangs and Qins seemed like power-hungry arrogant people of the same bunch. So it was hard for me to root for Qin Yu.
So ST was only an incomplete technique's name, I thought it's godlike transformation (metamorphosis like thing haha). Still, it's good more or less haha
Finally it has ended. The war and the mortal world for the MC. The next book will see him on a new adventure. I have to say after reading this book there is something I want. That is a story about the one I simply am going to call "First Master". Those who read the book will know who I am talking about. Eitherway I think that would be a great story to read. Just a thought.
by the end of the fourth book, i'm not sure whether i want to read the next one or not. i mean, it probably will have more interesting story later. but the war at book 4 made me want to stop here because it already have good ending. but ofc wuxia won't end when the protagonist hasn't reach age of thousands. so i'll probably read the next book tomorrow.
there are some background story about aliens, planet, galaxy which made me having doubts about this story because fantasy martial arts + aliens is really too much. but well; this is fantasy story.
i guess the title of the series already gave a fair warning.
Formidable!. That was my first impression when Qin Yu used his ultimate technique against Xiang Yang. Waiting to see how's Yu'er power gonna improve through the remaining books!
