Everyone says beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Sheila's eyes are focused on her dreams. With her sights set on opening the hottest beauty parlor in the city and a $100,000 grant on the line, Sheila doesn't have time for distractions. Especially not from Shi'zad, the persistently charming but aesthetically challenged man who keeps popping up everywhere she goes. Her relationship with Shareef might be circling the drain, but that doesn't mean she's looking for a replacement – least of all someone who looks like a darkroom experiment gone wrong.
But Shi'zad never backed down from a challenge. He's witty, intelligent, ambitious, and determined to show Sheila that sometimes the most beautiful things in life come in unexpected packages. Between his corporate climb and her beauty school hustle, they keep crossing paths, and slowly but surely, Sheila starts noticing things about him that have nothing to do with his face.
"Enraptured by an Ugly Nigga" is a humorous and heartfelt romance about looking past the surface and finding beauty in the most unexpected places. Sometimes love isn't about what catches your eye – it's about what captures your heart.
I absolutely loved everything about this story! There were so many hidden jewels and life lessons that were sprinkled throughout. It truly gave the phrase “don’t judge a book by its cover” new meaning & makes you think twice about giving in to “typical standards” when it comes to one’s looks.
When Shelia meets Shi’zad, although drawn to him she immediately knows he’s not a “typical” person that she would date. As she compares the treatment she receives from her current man, versus the one she “shouldn’t be with” based on society’s standards, it is simply no comparison & she realizes she can do better!
This whirlwind romance story took several twists & turns, tested friendships, touched on the power of forgiveness, childhood trauma & was simply an emotional journey. When people are forcibly humbled, it makes them look at things completely differently and there were characters in this book that DEFINITELY had to be forcibly humbled. Highly recommend for urban romance lovers and if this is how Shi’Zad is coming, then enrapture me sir!
If you know me well, then you know I'm intrigued by book titles more than covers. So when the author Daisy Savage messaged me and asked if I would read an ARC of Enraptured by an Ugly Nigga which was released on June 30, I was curious to see how the title would be developed in the story, and boy did she deliver.
If don't judge a book by its cover was a person, it would be Shi'zad. He may not win any prizes in the looks department, but he sure was a keeper as Sheila soon found out in this humorous and heartfelt romance.
Sheila was focused on her dreams of winning a $100,000 grant to open her own beauty salon/parlor and didn't have time for distractions except those with the shallow, self centered Shareef, who clearly thought she was not worthy of his time, love and attention in the same way she thought about him. But when Shi'zad kept turning up like a bad penny, and the fact that he put himself in harm's way for her, the universe was trying to tell her something and provide a lesson on what she needed and not what she wanted. Gentle, thoughtful, kind, witty, protective, and intelligent - although he doubted himself as it related to work- he was just what she needed and soon Sheila began to see that he was a better person than Shareef.
He won me over with that seven activity date they had, and from then, I was not tolerating any bad about him. I was ready to throw hands with his "family" who treated him like a second class citizen, submit that application for his promotion and rail against Sheila's frenemies Shaunte and Stacy when they laughed at him initially and about they said later when confronted.
I liked that he showed up for her again and again and for his little brother, not Shareef, Corey. I'll be honest. I don't know if I would have been the bigger person and assist the same people who treated me like dirt my whole life, though. It must have been his mother's training, her grace towards that man who got her pregnant and his family (yes, I know she was the other woman but Clifford could've done better), and the belief she instilled in him that he could do anything he wanted that had him assisting and later forgiving them enough to build a relationship.
His relationship with Brother Tyrone, his friend and mentor, was one of the highlights of the story for me.
I also liked Sheila's relationship with her girl Kiyyah, who was a true friend, and the proposal she made to Scarlett, her competitor at the beauty school. That said a lot about her character.
I truly enjoyed Shi'zad and Sheila's journey of discovery and seeing their love blossom. I was happy that she got her happy ever after with her man and her business, but I was extra happy when Shi'zad got his. He was the main character for me.
If you're looking for a fast-paced, not too spicy, character driven, love wins story that's not too long, read this one. Thanks, Daisy Savage for introducing me to this story with characters that feel real and are still lingering.
ARC reader review: Tanisha you did that! This was so fun to read. Together Sheila and Shareef got on my nerves, SMH. If that’s how it is, I need to get me an ugly n*gga! Shi’Zad was way more forgiving than I would have been, he’s a good one. All that clowning, it was funny, but all also “daaaammnn” yall went in on him. Call me ugly once and I’m out. LOL.
This book was everything! I loved the humor , interactions between the characters but most of all I loved the raw emotion in this book. I listened to it on audible and I was hooked. This author has a talent for writing.
Sheila, a young woman with her whole life ahead of her currently in cosmetology/ beauty school working towards a grant of $100,000. She is currently in an unfulfilling relationship but will that change?
Shi’Zad, a man that can be described as having a face only a mother can love. He is a self made man with building a life for himself and working towards being a good man. He lost his mom when he was young to cancer and was forced to fend for himself even though he had a father that didn’t live a hand to care for him.
A chance encounter brings these two characters together that can’t best be described as a whirlwind of two people coming together. I love the message in the book and the drama. Definitely give this book a listen/ read.
This book was such a great read! I’m not even going to lie — the title had me giggling from the jump, and the intro only added to that 😂, but once I got into the story, I was hooked.
I loved the romance that developed between Sheila and Shi’zad. What really stood out to me was how this story flipped the whole “looks vs. substance” narrative in the best way. Shi’zad might not have fit the typical “fine” mold, but he proved over and over again that he had so much more to offer — loyalty, patience, emotional intelligence, and real love. That man was truly solid, and I loved that Sheila eventually saw him for who he really was beyond surface level.
At the same time, Sheila felt very real to me. She had her moments where I was side-eyeing her a bit, but you could really see her internal struggle between what she thought she wanted versus what she actually needed. Watching her grow and finally embrace a love that was genuine and good for her was really satisfying.
This book definitely gave a little bit of everything — romance, drama, betrayal, humor, and even some deeper moments that made you reflect. What started off funny and lighthearted ended up having a lot more depth than I expected, touching on things like self-worth, perception, and choosing love over ego.
I also really enjoyed the humor and dialogue throughout — it felt natural, witty, and had me laughing at multiple points. But at the same time, the emotional moments hit. I found myself going through all the emotions — anger, sadness, happiness — all of it.
And that ending?? Whew. It was so swoonworthy and heartwarming. I loved seeing genuinely good people find their way to each other and get the love they deserved.
Overall, this book was entertaining, heartfelt, and had a really strong message underneath all the humor and drama. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend!
rating 4.5 This was definitely an unexpected banger based off the title. It catches you off guard because what?!? But it's so good, there is comedy, love, betrayal, and all the drama. I will definitely read more of her catalog. This book explored relationships between Lovers, friends, and family. It wasn't a long read and I felt like it didn't miss anything, satisfying conclusion.
I’ll be honest. I did not think I’d like this book by the title alone. Cause who wants to read about an ugly zigga??? But mannnn Shi’zad stole my entire heart! 🥺 I really do sympathize with ugly ziggas now because his back story was so heartbreaking fr lmao. Sheila’s character development was so refreshing because her ugly attitude towards him in the beginning was notably more hideous than she described his face. She learned a hard lesson, not to judge a book my it’s cover because he did not play about her! Even when she wasn’t studdin him! I’m so glad my boy got his happy ending 👏🏾
Entraptured by an Ugly Ngga* was definitely one of those books I picked up because of the title. Let’s be real—the title is hilarious, and impossible to ignore. 😂
That said, the actual story felt much more serious than I expected. I went in thinking I was about to get nonstop laughs, but what I got was a sweet romance with a few funny moments sprinkled throughout. I found myself wishing the humor matched the energy of the title a little more.
What I did enjoy was the chemistry between the main characters. Their banter before they got together was & Once they finally connected, I liked how naturally they clicked and how easy it was to root for them as a couple.
I also appreciated that the author gave us enough background on the characters without drowning us in unnecessary details. There was just enough substance to understand who they were and why they made the choices they did.
Overall, this was a cute, enjoyable read with good chemistry, solid character development, and a romance that felt genuine. The title set different expectations for me than the story delivered, but once I adjusted to what the book actually was, I had a good time.
I stumbled on this book and audibly cackled because the title is so unserious. But I decided to read because the premise intrigued me (I’ve never read a romance book where the MMC wasn’t fine as hell). When I tell you that the reactions people had to Shi’zad made it seem like homie was straight up Quasimodo😩. I honestly felt bad for him because he was giving good guy energy from the beginning. With that said, I enjoyed this story. Sheila (FMC)pissed me off for half the book but I eventually grew to like her. This book was funny, but also thought provoking about beauty standards and the way it influences people’s treatment of you. Shi’Zad was a GOOD MAN! And super forgiving because I would’ve given Sheila my ass to kiss. I appreciated the found family dynamics and even the push/pull with how and when to close certain doors.
This sweet contemporary romance feels so different from the norm. We have a MMC who isn't an alpha hole, he isn't overly confident with chiseled good looks. Here we have the quiet, steady, humor of an "ugly" MMC. Our FMC isn't perfect sign of virtue. She can be superficial at times and cutting but once the story evolves so does their romance.
I love the author's writing and now I'm a fan.
Tropes: Ugly Duckling Gets a Swan Beauty/Beast Found Family Toxic Family & Trauma
🌶 Smut: There's a couple of good scenes but sex isn't the focus. Scenes are explicit but not nasty.
Love: We get to see how they take their sorrows and watch them achieve their dreams brick by brick 🤌🏾☺️
I typically gravitate toward gritty, urban romance with dangerous characters and high stakes, so this story wasn’t in my usual line up. Still, I’m glad I gave it a chance. It pulled me in from page one and had me both liking—and seriously disliking—certain characters. The deep dive into their lives made them feel real, like I actually knew them, and at one point I even experienced secondhand shame for one character. The ending was satisfying, and everything wrapped up exactly as it should have.
I loved this book down! Even though the ugly duckling had every reason to be enraged and say f everyone he still was positive. He went after what he wanted and he kept his faith when everything around him was just coming at him wrong. He was abandon by his father and was only including when it was convenient for his family. He was the sweetest and I’m so glad he got what he deserved.
Shelia had some trifling ass friends who were low key jealous of her and they truly revealed themselves.
This book wasn’t what I was expecting. I thought it would be some ghetto hood type book but it was well written. You could feel the emotion jumping off the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed their story and it shows love can be found with anyone if you have an open heart.
ARC Reader Review: I really enjoyed this book! I felt so bad for Shi’Zad and how people were talking about how ugly he was though! Lol! I really enjoyed his story of how he managed to get through his childhood and still became the man that he is. I loved the love story and how he didn’t give up on getting his girl and how they held each other down through everything. 5 stars for me!
ARC Reader Review: This story was such a breath of fresh air. Truly, a story I didn’t know I needed. I loved everything about it. Normally the MMC are street boyz, but to see this one in such a different light was enjoyable. Shi’Zad knows who he is. I was invested. From the jokes and triflin folks to forgiveness and love. I couldn’t put this book down. Ugly n*ggas need love too!
I Truly believe that this book was written with every intention of being an eye opener and it was for me!! for SEVERAL reasons, to help you understand the importance of your own words, we should not judge others based upon what they look like but, what’s in a persons heart. We as people NEED to understand that looks are superficial,we are made in the image of God and we need to love ourselves and others to the fullest , because everything that looks good is NOT necessarily good for you!!!! How we TREAT OTHERS and how we value ourselves is more important than what we look like! Beauty fades but character is forever! Know who your true friends are because if all they see and speak about is looks and material possessions, especially in YOUR MAN!!!Then you better watch it because they making all that noise for a reason and it ain’t for your well being 👀 because if they truly love you, they will love who you love wholeheartedly and want to see you win!!and the BIGGEST lesson: watch how you treat people you NEVER know whose help you’re going to need‼️This book was a sweet, emotionally rewarding experience ! 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I REALLY enjoyed this book! The title is definitely eye catching but I do feel like it takes away from the readers ability to take the story seriously. However, I enjoyed the character development and story arc presented throughout this book. I really like how the characters grew and felt relatable. The drama was compelling and I could see a sequel/continuation of the story if the author wanted to give us an update.
Ultimately, I like that the author gave us more than just superficial sexual content and hyper fixation on the “ugly” factor. I’d definitely read more from this author in the future.
So, I was just scrolling audible and came across this title and thought hmmm this sounds interesting and I’m glad I did this story was so good! What happens when the man that is your everything treats you the way you desire but he is ugly as sh^t?! Not gon lie I don’t know I’m still too childish every time we get into it I would roast him so badly 😂😂😂 but maybe that is exactly who I need, ok let me unblock this ugly 🥷!
First read by this author and I have no complaints.
Tropes: Urban, Humor, Opposites/Attract, Found Family. When I ran across Enraptured By An Ugly N*gga: An Urban Romance Story by Daisy Savage, I was immediately pulled in by the beautiful cover picture and tickled by the title😊. This book is the first one I have read by this author but would like to note that she has three other books available on Kindle. While the title breaks down the plot in a rather simplistic fashion, this opposites/attract, slow burn love story contains several obstacles hindering the path to HEA. Shelia is beautiful, hardworking with her eyes focused on winning a grant from her cosmetology school and opening her own salon. In addition, she has a handsome boyfriend, a loyal friend group and while her boyfriend is less than attentive, she is certainly not looking for a new man. Especially, one as aesthetically challenged as Shi'zad! Shi'zad has overcome a lot, the passing of his mother, neglect from his wealthy father, as well as ridicule and ignoring from his half-siblings. He is aware that he is “funny” looking but he is ALSO aware of his self-worth and has a strong spiritual life as well as a found family. When he sees Sheila at the corner store, it is love at first sight. He can see her outward beauty, but he also has a sense of her strength and inner loveliness. Shelia sees his strong physique but is not attracted to his odd features and after all, she has a man! Shi'zad and Shelia continue to run into each other accidentally and by Shi'zad’s design. When Shelia eventually finds out that her MAN is not what she thought he was will she take a second or third look at Shi'zad and see him for the good man that he is or will she let her friend’s opinions and society’s optics stand in the way of seeing beauty in its truest form? Conclusion: This book is a unique blend of spirituality, humor and a dash of spice. The author made the physically unappealing Shi’zad desirable for his work ethic, his kindness and capacity for forgiveness. Some of the rude things Sheila flung at him in anger were soooooooo mean but he had the capacity to look beyond her snark to the pain, le sigh. Sheila was a great character but allowed her friends to overly influence her….not all friends are true friends. Final word, this book was one I was sad to see end. Shi’zad was such a well-written character, he deserved every moment of his HEA. Favorite Lines: She kept trying to walk away from me, but from the fact that she kept entertaining me, I had her intrigued. A hint of a blush crossed her features before she turned for the final time and walked away. Sometimes the wounds we carry help us heal others. Sometimes being broken and put back together makes us exactly who someone else needs. He was still ugly, but... damn… he was sexy. How somebody gonna be ugly and sexy at the same time? The math wasn't mathing, but here was Shi'zad, ugly-sexy, breaking all kinds of equations.”
The way she looked at me then – like I was some kind of miracle worker instead of just an ugly dude who knew his way around social media – made my chest tight.
Not just the date, but this whole thing – this man who could make social media sing, who looked at me like I was something precious, who took my subtle rejection with such grace it made me ashamed of giving it. “Well like I said before, I just got the position recently. But I’ve never been the type to boast about what I have. Especially since a nigga came up through hard times.” Something that felt a lot like grief for the relationship we could have had if he hadn't been such a snake all these years.
THIS WAS MY FIRST READ BY DAISY SAVAGE AND I’LL BE EXPLORING MORE IF HER WORK. THAT TITLE OF THE BOOK IS WHAT GOT ME AND I’M SO GLAD I DOWNLOADED IT. THE MESSAGE OF FORGIVENESS, HEALING, SELF REFLECTION, AND THE IMPORTANCE OF NOT JUDGING A BOOK BY ITS COVER.
WHEW CHILE THIS BOOK TAKES YOU THROUGH ALL THE EMOTIONS! I LAUGHED, SHED SOME TEARS, CLUTCHED MY PEARLS AT THE AUDACITY OF SOME OF THESE CHARACTERS, WAS READY TO THROW HANDS, CHEERED THEM ON AND FELL IN LOVE 🥰
STACEY AND SHAWNTE WERE SOME SUPERFICIAL JEALOUS BACKSTABBING HEAUX AND I WAS SO PRIDE OF SHEILA FOR FINALLY FINDING GET VOICE AND TELLING THEM HOW SHE TRULY FELT.
KIYAH WAS TRUE FRIEND GOALS. SHE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO DESPITE SHI’ZAD OUTER APPEARANCE AND THE UGLINESS AND DISRESPECT FROM THEIR SO CALLED "FRIENDS" SUPPORTED SHEILA EXPLORING WHAT COULD BE AND STOOD BY HER THROUGH IT ALL.
THERE WERE TIMES THAT I WANTED TO PUNCH SHEILA IN THE THROAT🤷🏽♀️🤣. CAUSE SIS WAS PISSING ME OFF WITH HER DISMISSIVE ATTITUDE TOWARDS SHI’ZAD, AND HOW GULLIBLE SHE WAS WHEN IT CAME TO SHAREEF🙄. I’M GLAD SHE FINALLY GOT SOME ACT RIGHT AND REALIZED THAT WHAT MATTERS MOST IS HOW SOMEONE TREATS YOU.
I LOVED ME SOME SHI’ZAD❤️🔥. DESPITE HIS UPBRINGING, DESPITE THE NEGATIVITY THAT CONTINUED TO SURROUND HIM, DESPITE HIS OWN FATHER AND SIBLINGS NOT WANTING ANYTHING TO DO WITH HIM UNLESS IT BENEFITED THEM. HE WAS BEING BLESSED TO HAVE A MOTHER WHO PREPARED HIM FOR THE HARSHNESS OF THE WORLD, AND WHO LOVED HIM UNCONDITIONALLY. HE KNEW HE WASN’T ATTRACTIVE BUT HE DIDN’T ALLOW THAT TO HINDER HIM AND DIDN’T LET THE UGLINESS OF THE WORLD TO SO HIM FROM GOING AFTER WHAT HE WANTED. OF COURSE HE HAS DOUBTS LIKE THE REST OF US, BUT HE HAD A DOPE AZZ FAMILY WITH FELIX AND BROTHER TYRONE WHO ENCOURAGED AND GAVE HIM THAT UNCONDITIONAL LOVE HIS BIO FAMILY NEVER GAVE. I’M GLAD HIM AND SHEILA GOT THE HEA THEY BOTH DESERVED🫶🏽. I ALSO LIKED THAT HIS BIO DAD AND BROTHER SHAREEF OUT FOURTH THE EFFORT TO FIX THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM.
Listen. I was not prepared for how good this was. This story was hilarious, heartfelt, and unexpectedly deep all at once — the kind of book that’ll have you laughing, side-eyeing folks, and then tearing up a little before you realize what happened. Tanisha really gave us a story that flips the whole “don’t judge a book by its cover” message in the best way possible.
Shi’Zad? My man deserved better from everybody! The way people stayed clowning him for being “ugly” while he was out here proving he’s got more loyalty, love, and emotional intelligence than half the “fine” ones out there — whew. He’s solid, he’s funny without trying, and his patience? Saint-level. I would’ve started swinging by chapter two.
Sheila, on the other hand, was giving relatable chaos. You could feel her internal tug-of-war between pride, perception, and actually being treated right. Watching her slowly realize that kindness and stability will always outshine looks? That was growth, and I was cheering for her the whole way.
The dialogue was sharp, the humor had me snorting, and the emotional beats hit hard. What starts out funny turns into something unexpectedly layered — forgiveness, acceptance, trauma, and choosing love over ego. The pacing never dipped, and those little real-life lessons sprinkled throughout? Chef’s kiss.
By the end, I was fully invested in these two. It’s rare for a story to be this entertaining and still say something real, but this one nailed it.
Five stars, easy. A wild, honest, and surprisingly tender ride. And let’s be real — Shi’Zad might just be the standard now.
⭐️📚 Book Review: Enraptured by an Ugly Nigga by Daisy Savage 🎧🔥
Listen… I LOVED this book BAD. 😭💯
First of all, I listened on Audible and it was included with my membership (no credit needed) and honestly that was the BEST part because this story was worth every minute.
Now let me tell you… I did NOT even read what it was about. Audible recommended it, I saw the title and said “yep.” And baby… I’m so glad I ran with it because this book had me in a chokehold from start to finish.
The drama? ✔️ The mess? ✔️ The emotions? ✔️ The plot twists? ✔️ The “wait… WHAT?!” moments? ✔️✔️✔️
It really had me thinking about real-life situations like… 👉🏽 imagine being the half sibling nobody acknowledges until they need you. 👉🏽 or your sibling wouldn’t spit on you if you were on fire… but now they need a bone marrow transplant and YOU the only match.
Like whew… would you do it or nah?? 😭
And don’t get me started on the relationship drama because once people see what that “ugly nigga” is about… EVERYBODY starts acting real interested. 🤣💀
This book is messy, emotional, funny in parts, and definitely one of those stories that reminds you: nobody can do life alone.
If you like books with real-life decisions, betrayal, loyalty tests, and unexpected turns… this is the one.
10/10 recommend. 🎧📖🔥
✨ And baby… an ugly nigga might be all you need. PERIOD. 😭🤣

Tropes - Found family - Friends to lovers - Ex’s brother - Family drama - Contemporary romance - Good‑guy hero - Attraction grows over time
👌🏾🙏🏾The Plot Sheila is locked in on her dreams — chasing a $100K grant and building the beauty business she’s always wanted. Her relationship is barely hanging on, but she’s been too focused on her goals to face it. Then she meets Shi’zad, a man who treats her better in minutes than her boyfriend has in a year, and suddenly she’s rethinking everything she thought she knew about love, loyalty, and what she deserves.
👀👋🏾My Thoughts I picked this up because of the title alone, and it ended up giving me way more depth than I expected. It’s very urban contemporary romance with humor, heart, and a surprising amount of emotional honesty.
Sheila’s ambition felt real, and the contrast between how her boyfriend treated her versus how Shi’zad showed up for her was so clear. And the way Shi’zad was written? I loved it. His emotional arc is absolutely discussion‑worthy soft, vulnerable, steady, and good down to his bones. I low‑key wish he would’ve said “fawk his family” at certain points, but that restraint is part of who he is.
The found family thread hit too, because sometimes the people closest to you are the ones who hurt you the most, and the people you choose end up being your real support system.
Warm, endearing, and unexpectedly thoughtful a solid 4‑star read. Definitely pick this one up.
“How can somebody be ugly & sexy at the same time”
I’m not even gonna lie—the title is what drew me in, but this book ended up being way better than I expected. I thought I was going to get a typical hood read, but it actually had a lot more depth to it.
This story follows Sheila and Shi’zad, and what stood out to me most was the message behind it. It touches on things like toxic relationships, self-worth, family dynamics, forgiveness, and the reality of friendships—not all of them being genuine. It really highlights the difference between surface-level attraction and how someone actually treats you.
Shi’zad was THAT man—patient, intentional, respectful, and just solid all around. What I appreciated most is how secure he was in himself. Despite how others viewed him, he never let that define who he was. The way he carried himself—with confidence, honesty, and integrity—really stood out to me.
I also liked seeing Sheila’s growth—learning her worth, standing on her decisions, and not letting outside opinions sway her. There were a few messy moments, but it felt realistic and didn’t take away from the story.
Overall, this was a really good read with meaningful lessons and relatable situations. The “ugly” man ended up being the best one in the room… and I love that for her.

This was a good, quick read with a strong message about looking beyond appearances and learning to love people for who they are instead of how they look or what they have financially.
I really enjoyed Shi’zad’s character. Despite the way people treated him because of his looks and background, he remained kind, patient, supportive, and emotionally mature throughout the story. Watching Sheila slowly fall for him and realize there was more to attraction than physical appearance was the heart of the book for me.
I also appreciated the family storyline involving Shareef, their father, and the complicated dynamic between the “accepted” son and the neglected one. There were definitely moments that made me emotional and root for Shi’zad to finally receive the love and respect he deserved.
My only wish is that certain emotional aspects had been explored a little deeper. I would’ve loved more insight into how Sheila truly overcame her concerns about Shi’zad’s appearance and the opinions of the people around her once their relationship became serious. I also think more depth surrounding Shi’zad’s relationship with his father could have made some moments even more impactful.
Overall, this was an entertaining read with a happy ending, lovable moments, and a meaningful message about beauty being more than skin deep.

This book...don't judge a book by it's cover/title heavily applies here.
This was romantic, drama filled, showed you that sometimes your friends aren't really you're friends, teaching moments about life, having good looks isn't always everything, family isn't always gormed through blood, learning forgiveness, child hood drama and was just a journey of growth. Loved this more than I thought I would.
We Meet Sheila who keeps running into Shi'zad, and although she wouldn't usually go for a guy like Shi'zad, she cannot help but be drawn to him. Especially when he keeps showing up for her in all the little ways she wishes her boyfriend (at the time) would.
She comes to realise, screw what everyone else thinks. Shi'zad is a good man and I deserve a good man!
Like I said this was romantic in all the right ways. There was some nice twists in the story that really kept me engaged. I did feel sad about Sheila's friendship group but as you grow you learn that not all your friends are your friends and it's very okay to let them go.
Certain family members really had to take 2 steps back and remember Karma is a bitch, treat people well because you never know when you may need help one day.
Highly recommend this, for all the cousins who love a good urban romance, with twists, turns, growth and humbling moments.
