Book One of the Enduring Hearts Series

Sarah Elizabeth Weston always knew her place as a dutiful daughter and polished debutante.

But knowing something and accepting it are two very different things.

Reluctantly pushed into society, Sarah watches the life she has been raised to desire unfold in the glittering ballrooms of London. While every perfectly timed step leads her towards a future with the man that others have chosen for her, life continues to draw her back to the one person her heart can’t seem to forget.

But when the hope of the season goes cold, Sarah must choose between the life she was meant to dream of and a love that has already endured the darkest of winters.

Each book in The Enduring Heart Series is full of yearning, swoon-worthy romance, and the bittersweet ache of hearts mended by love.

For readers who long for romance that stirs the soul, but know that the most powerful love stories don’t always need heat to burn bright.

This was a tender and emotional read, and the prose was beautiful. There's also a lot of angst, which I love in a romance. I thought the characters were fleshed out and easy to love. I was able to feel what the characters were feeling through the ups and downs, and that’s what makes a good book for me personally. I will be continuing this series. 💚

The book could use more editing, especially for the dialogue and grammar, but I was still able to enjoy the story nonetheless.

Spice level: Kisses only
Content warnings: Death, grief

This book has a wonderful story and is enjoyable to read. I couldn’t put it down.
I thought the chemistry between the characters was great. The suspense and internal conflict of the characters were written very well, so that I could see how the events transpired as they did. I would highly recommend this historical romance that clearly shows you love can be true, lasting, and selfless.

📚✨ BOOK REVIEW ✨📚
Title: Yours Always
Series: The Enduring Hearts Series, Book 1
Author: Caroline Elizabeth Keeley
Genre: Historical Romance
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

📝 My Thoughts:
If you love a swoony, friends to lovers, historical romance that gives you all the feels, grab this book! 🤩 Sarah Weston is a fiery, independent spirit with a heart full of courage and mischief heroine. And Matthew Fenwick? The loyal, secret-pining, brother’s best friend hero who would sacrifice everything for her? Sigh. 🥺 Their history, their witty banter, the deep longing… it’s a pure joy to read. This story is a beautiful exploration of duty versus following your heart, and it’s a wonderfully uplifting romance!

My only wish? With just a prologue, 24 chapters, and an epilogue, I felt like the story sometimes moved a little too quickly. I was so invested that I just wanted longer chapters to savor the big emotional moments! For example, I wish we’d had a more detailed look at Matthew’s time back in Scotland, really exploring his struggles and what happened when he went home. And I was really hoping for a more drawn-out, emotional scene where Victoria apologizes to Matthew and Sarah. I needed to feel that reconciliation more deeply. I just wanted more of them! But honestly, even with the tighter chapter structure, the emotional payoff is completely worth the journey. The writing is elegant, and the story is fantastic.

What I Liked: Engaging characters, witty banter, and deep, emotional longing. The story quality is fantastic with a wonderful found family theme.

Writing quality, Readability, Story quality: Exquisite writing, highly readable, and a beautiful, heartfelt story.

Is the book part of a series? Yes, it’s the first book in The Enduring Hearts Series. It stands alone for this couple’s story, but definitely makes you want to read the next one!

Are there potential triggers?
DEATH (mentioned but not graphic), emotional turmoil, high-stakes miscommunication, and a temporary engagement to the wrong person. Nothing graphic, just prepare for your heart to ache a little before the happily ever after! 💔➡️💖

Who would I recommend this book to?
Readers who like friends to lovers trope, brother’s best friend romance, and sweet, deeply romantic historical fiction where the hero is completely gone for the heroine.

🔖 Favorite Quote:
“All I require is your heart. I don’t care if we live in a boarding house or stable. I would sew shirts or sell flowers in the street if it meant being yours. I would do anything”

📌 Final Verdict: A stunning debut that proves true love always finds its way home. I just hope the next book has longer chapters! 😉 Read it! 👏

There is a rant with spoilers ahead…

This book started out as friends to lovers perfection. This is the kind of tension and angst I love! Matthew is completely besotted with Sarah and the pining and stolen glances… the best!

Then, things started to unravel a bit for me and I ended up wanting Sarah to marry someone else, which is not a good sign! The miscommunication/lack of communication between Matthew and Sarah was infuriating even though everyone in Sarah’s family was trying desperately to help Matthew. He may have felt justified in his waiting and then fleeing due to his circumstances, but it ticked me off and I actually ended up thinking he was selfish and needed to stay in Scotland! He kept flip flopping. He can’t tell her he loves her because she deserves better, he has to tell her, he has to leave so she can be happy, he has to come back because he can’t stay away, but he still can’t be with her because he’s not worthy… ugh, I was just so over it by the end. Sarah gave him absolutely every chance to pursue her and he just would not step up. I get that he thinks he’s protecting her, I really do, but it was too much back and forth and at the end I was like, “If SHE ends up doing the big love confession first I will be so annoyed!!!” Needless to say, I was annoyed.

HOWEVER, this author can definitely write a convincing and emotional love story and I love that it was “kissing only”, so I will be reading more from her AND I would still recommend reading this to get to know Ben, Grace and Nathaniel! Hopefully there will be justice for Grace and Nathaniel in the next books!

I started reading this on the plane on vacation and found myself gripping the pages and trying to talk to the characters. Caroline Elizabeth Keeley, you were made to be an author! This was my first foray into regency romance, and I went in not knowing what to expect. This novel was a breath of fresh air I didn’t know I needed. After reading such heavy stories for months on end, the characters and pace of this book was balm to the soul. With lush, descriptive writing, Caroline takes you on a journey that will have you laughing, crying, and smiling throughout. Can’t wait for the next book!

Caroline, congratulations on your first novel!

Another book club pick. Otherwise, I never would have read it. Not my genre. However, once I got into it, I found it a good read, not great but enough to hold my attention. I am glad for the HEA, but all through the reading, I found myself thinking, "For heaven's sake you two (Sarah & Matthew) open your mouths and TALK to each other about how you feel about the other!" Alas, this story takes place over 150 years ago when apparently mind reading was a requirement!

No Spice

This story was filled with so many sweet moments and it was a quick read! I enjoyed all the characters and loved seeing where each was headed. Looking forward to the next books!

As a childhood friends to lovers, I wanted to overlook the miscommunication trope but it kept happening.

✨Book Review✨

I have a current book I’m reading that is heavy so this book was the light breath of fresh air that I needed. It was lovely and I enjoyed it very much. I was so surprised it was the author’s first book!

I can’t even tell you how much I loved Sarah and Matthew. I’m so excited to read the next story and I was tearing up at the end of this one a few times!

Such a pleasant read and I’m so thankful to the author for allowing me to read this. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

CW: closed door (kisses only)
*possible spoilers below*
there is an accident and some tragic things that do happen in this story. Also a daughter who is not talked about/a would be shunned woman from society.

There are a few things that frustrated me but nothing too big, and it was a me thing!
