Holy heck on a broomstick was this a keep you on the edge to see what’s going to happen next story! I have come to adore Ellery and Ryker as well as the “Merry” men and women in the Revenant woods. Brenda K Davies never disappoints. Each story and realm gets more and more exciting to read. She has created a world unlike any other. You have a strong MMC as well
as an equally strong if not stronger FMC. Ellery has grown so much in her path to righteousness in Tempest. She went from the young hooded robber, to becoming the strongest female to control all 5 weathers. And Ryker, well he’s just the man we’ve come to know and love. Between her and Ryker they are determined to lift the curse in Tempest and set things right. This is no easy task and the twists, turns, guilt, compassion and love are all there to guide them through. I truly feel that this is a series that I will read several more times as it’s that good. I always say this and mean it that you are drawn in from page 1. I cannot wait for book 6, A Tempest of Monsters. I am rubbing my hands together in anticipation.

Tempest of Chaos is the fifth book in the Tempest of Shadows series and must be read in order.
OMG!! I love this series!! Got plans? Cancel them. Got work? Call in sick. This story drew me in, consumed me, and didn't want to let me go. Still now, hours after I've turned the last page, these characters are still on my mind. So when you start this book, trust me, you will not be able to put it down.
Seeing Ellery and Ryker step into their roles of leadership was awe-inspiring. They are both so strong and perfect together. Ryker is one of the most swoon worthy male leads ever, his protectiveness of Ellery is 🥵. I adore Ellery as well; she is so kind and selfless. Together their chemistry was off the charts hot!!
There is an event that happens in this book that I did not see coming and it was one of the best things I’ve read, I’m so insanely glad it happened! It made me so nostalgic of Braith and Aria (from her Captive series). I just love the little found family they have in the woods, if anything happens to certain, loveable side characters (cough Tucker, Mouse, Ianto), I will be sobbing.
The action in this one was shocking, nail-biting, vivid and definitely had me up way too late.
We all know Brenda K Davies is an amazing writer but this time she outdid herself. A perfect Robin Hood retelling, paranormal romance, full of action, spice and gooey romance. You need to read this book! It’s a fantastic read that will certainly be on my best reads of 2025. I need the next one ASAP!

So, I just finished Tempest of Chaos and wow. If you’re into fantasy with a mix of action, romance, and emotional depth, this book definitely delivers.
What I really love about Brenda K. Davies’ writing is how she manages to pull you in with her characters. They’re super relatable, even in a world full of magic, creatures, and all kinds of chaos. You’ll find yourself rooting for them, even when they’re making tough choices or just trying to figure things out.
The plot moves pretty quickly, and just when you think you’ve got things figured out, the twists keep coming. There’s a lot of intense moments, but also some great emotional beats that give the story heart. And while the romance is definitely there, it doesn’t overshadow the bigger, more dangerous stuff going on—which is a huge win in my book.
Davies also continues to build on this amazing world with so many layers. It feels like there’s always more to uncover, but it’s never info-dumped on you. The world feels lived-in, and that makes everything feel that much more real.
All in all, it was hard to put down. It’s got everything you want in a fantasy novel: strong characters, great action, and plenty of twists to keep you hooked. If you’re a fan of the series, you’re going to love this one.

Complete chaos has erupted in Tempest as Ryker has done the one thing NO ONE would have ever expected. King Ivan is dead and Ryker is now a wanted man with the sole focus of saving and protecting Ellery, the only hope the Amsirah have of gaining freedom and peace. I feel like every chapter had me holding my breath, a swirl of many emotions battling for dominance, but trying to reign myself in and not turn the page too quickly in an attempt to find out what’s happening next. Sheer will and determination seemed to be the main theme of this exciting installment. The will to survive, determination to get through every obstacle to save loved ones and all the people, while searching for answers to unknown ancient secrets and trying to make the right decisions for all is enough to drive one crazy. While there is much confusion caused by the chaos, there is still much light and joy to be found when you can appreciate the little things. Absolutely cannot wait for the next book!!

Let me just say.. Brenda delivers an intense, immersive read that somehow balances a dark, chaotic world with sharp wit and playful banter. That alone deserves some serious applause.
From page one, the storyline pulls you in and starts with a BANG. There’s never a dull moment—just when you think you’ve caught your breath, something else hits you. But what really sold me were the characters. Every single one feels real, flawed, and compelling.
Even with a heavy, almost dystopian backdrop, there is humor and lightness, loss and laughs. I love the quips between the guys. Ianto is probably my favorite side character ever. It’s that contrast that makes this book work so well—you get grit and gravity, but also moments that make you smirk or laugh out loud.
If you’re into strong characters, intense plot twists, and a touch of sarcastic dialogue to lighten the darkness, you’ll love this one. Honestly, I devoured it and immediately wanted more. A solid 5 stars from me!

I have never been disappointed by BKD and her books and this was no exception. The amount of action this book opens with! Her writing style makes it so easy to envision Ryker and Ellery as they are so desperate to get to each other and out of there. The book is nonstop and I love the way you get plot with your spice. But you can just feel the buildup through the whole book as they truly start to setup for their effort to save Tempest. The vulnerability that both Ellery and Ryker are left with is so raw at times. She is exposing every part of herself to build hope and to protect the other Amisirah, while Ryker has to stand back and allow it while doing whatever else he can to help and still keep her safe without caging her. It’s a beautiful dynamic and they both have taken up the mantle as leaders because they are too willing to do what’s necessary. I cannot wait for the next book!

When you think Brenda K. Davies has outdone herself, SURPRISE. We get a book that starts with a bang, and just keeps on going.
Well written with easy flow, intrigue, amazing realm building, imagination, and creativity filling every page. A entertaining, and emotional roller coaster of ups, and downs taking you on a ride you never expected. SURPRISE
The length the aristocrats, and wealthy peoples cruelty will go to maintain their hold on greed/wealth is incredible. Ryker, and Ellery want to change that, BUT HOW? How long will it take the common people to realize what they need to do to change things?
Brenda K. Davies is the most talented story teller, EVER. You won't be sorry to start reading any of her books/series. They're just that good.
I can't wait for the next book.

This was still good but definitely didn’t match the pacing of the previous three books. A lot happens but at the same time, not really as far as furthering their position and continuing the rebellion.
There is a lot of time spent on the tunnel and the resulting finds from that whole song and dance but it isn’t used in this book. I’m assuming that it will have some importance in future books in the series.
From book one I have figured that Ryker and Ellery are mates and so far that hasn’t been rolled out yet but I would actually be surprised if that’s not what ends up unfolding later on.
We spend a lot of time in their camp in the forest and a lot less interaction happens with the super slimy leaders of the realm which while it’s lovely to not deal with gaius and the duke, at times the pacing was on the slower side.

The king is dead and the alternative is the absolute worse.
Ryker is giving me unrealistic expectations for men and I’m not even talking about his power. He’s the epitome of an alpha male. Broody and definitely deadly. Vengeance will be his when you mess with what is so clearly his.
Ellery is fierce and the strongest of her kind with the ability to wield all five elements. But her greatest strength is that she holds Ryker’s heart. Together they are unstoppable. Natural leaders who take the helm on the fight to lift the curse on Tempest.
The book is full of all the best things that make this series utterly amazing!

Leaving us in another cliffhanger from sequel 4, Brenda K. Davies begins the 5th sequel, Tempest of Chaos as another nail biter! This 5th sequel is full of chaos, adventures, ready to scream moments, friendships of the normal and paranormal kind, funny moments and most of all the love that continues to grow between Ryker and Ellery. Great continuation to the Tempest series as our gang of Robin Hooder's try to find their way to protect and secure their beloved realm and the people of Tempest from the horrific rulers that would love nothing more than to destroy them all. A must read series! All her books are a must read! Can't wait for the next sequel!!

A Tempest of Chaos was everything you ever wanted in a book and more! Its intense and dark yet it also portrays love with playful banter. I was immersed in the story from page 1 and couldn't put the book down. There is tons of action throughout the whole book from Ryker and Ellery trying to get to each other and then for all of them trying to save Tempest. Ellery will reveal more of herself to protect her people and Ryker stands by her side to protect her. They are both willing to do whatever it takes to save their people and their home. The next book will be epic!!!! I highly recommend starting this series, you won't be disappointed!!

OMG! I've been waiting, not so patiently for the 5th book in the Tempest series. It started out amazing! Book 4 left on a cliffhanger, but book 5 definitely continued the story. Between the Revenant Wwods, Ellery & Ryker, and my personal favorite, Farley. I COULD NOT put it down!!! As always, Brenda writes a story full of love, spicy moments, adventure and hilarious banter. I've read so many of her different series and will continue to cherish and not so patiently wait for the next books. Now I'm really impatient for book 6!!!

A Tempest of Chaos! I read and reread this fantastic story over and over, it's that good! Brenda K. Davis is an extraordinary author that connects you into her stories where you feel like you are a part of it and the characters are your best friends. I love the story of Ryker and Ellery, which is a spinoff from my favorite series The Shadow Realms. A Tempest of Chaos did not disappoint with the continuing saga for Ryer and Ellery to save Tempest. Their love and passion for each other and their mission is electrifying!

Great Story!
Ryder and Ellery have gone through so much to keep her gifts secret but she has had to reveal it to save the innocent. They have to build an army while aiding the innocent suffering from the atrocities that Ryder’s father and his new evil sheriff, Gaius, commit. The pair is evil incarnate. Not all childhood stories are fiction but knowing the “right” course can be so difficult. Buckle up for an exciting adventure as Ryder and Ellery’s relationship and chosen family grows but so does the peril they all face. I loved the story.

What to do when a series keeps blowing your mind with each new instalment!!!! Just keep reading.
The only downside to this story is that it ends lol I’m never ready for the book to end.
All the positives, fantastic characters, descriptive writing that makes you feel like you’ve fallen into the book, a plot that keeps you gripping the pages waiting for the next poltergeist to drop lol and so many little wondrous details that you will never regret or forget picking up this series.

A Tempest of Chaos has it all! Just when you think you know what’s coming Brenda switches it up and keeps you on your toes. A perfect read for anyone looking to be immersed in a world full of wonder, romance, and intrigue. You’ll fall deeper in love with the characters and how the story is developing. Ryker, Ellery, and the rest of the crew are so much more than just friends they are family. They are a force to be reckoned with and the aristocrats of Tempest better be ready for the storm that is coming. Be prepared to have a book hangover and wanting the next book asap!!

We saw Ryker kill the King in the last book in order to save Ellery’s and all the other women. Oh the Duke thought his son was doing it from him and had no idea what was actually coming. They keep rescuing people from different places to build their army up, because they still don’t have enough to fight the King’s army. I feel like ever since they found the Gargoyle statues that something bigger is going to happen! They are part of a lost past I am sure of it! Bring them back to help protect the others!!

The story just gets getting better and better! I love Ryker and Ellery and the journey this series has taken them on. Each book takes you deeper into their lives and those who are close them. Chapter by chapter the suspense builds as you are never sure where Brenda is going to take this story. I am so excited for the next book to come out. If you have not read this series you definitely need to! Amazing characters and story.

If you were wanting a fast paced non-stop action story you came to the right place! Brenda K. Davies did not disappoint with the fifth installment of the Tempest of Shadows series! She has a way with words that transports you into her world and I could not help but feel I was in the book myself as Ryker’s and Ellery’s story unfolded. I was drawn in from page one and devoured every page after despite trying to pace myself. Welcome back to the Shadow Realms. I hope you’ve cleared your calendar!

While this installment wasn’t as action-packed as the previous ones, it more than made up for it with jaw-dropping discoveries, intense character development, and the quiet build-up before the storm. The rebels are plotting, the nobles better watch their backs, and the twists? Chef’s kiss. If you’re a fan of the series, don’t let the slower pace fool you, this one is laying the groundwork for something epic.

Ok, I must say I loved this the best of all the books in this series! New characters, spooky town, hot hot steamy sex scenes. I’d love to have some of the powers Ellery has. The damage I could do. LOL My favorite character is the giant and some of the poltergeists. I was sad when the END popped up. Wasn’t ready to say goodbye and time to wait for next one. But, I’ll reread it before the next one. I highly highly recommend this book. Go, grab it, and begin.

A Tempest of Chaos by Brenda K. Davies is another enjoyable addition to her lineup—fast-paced, romantic, and perfectly uncomplicated. These books are like a palette cleanser: easy to read, full of emotional ups and downs, and just plain entertaining. The romance is satisfying, the drama keeps things moving, and it never tries to be more complicated than it needs to be. I consistently give these books four stars because they always deliver exactly what I expect—fun escapism and a good time.

Brenda has out done herself with this book! I was drawn in form the first page and didn’t want the book to end! Ryker and Ellery make an amazing team. This book is well put together and thought out. I highly, highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who is looking for action! You will not be disappointed!
