Molly McAllister is my best friend’s widow, a single mom trying to keep her flower farm alive, and the last person in this small town who should look twice at me.
I ride bulls for a living. My body’s a battered mess with my heart in even worse shape. I’m carrying enough scars—inside and out—to know I don’t deserve someone like her.
But when she ends up laid up with a broken ankle, I’m the one who shows up to help. I’m supposed to be the guy she hates—hell, I’ve given her plenty of reasons. Instead, I’m the one carrying her up the damn stairs and flipping pancakes for her twins like I belong in her kitchen. In her life. Her bed.
She thinks I’ve come to take her land. The truth? Every time I look at her, I’m in danger of handing her my heart.
She’s sunshine and second chances. I’m storm clouds and bad decisions.
We’re supposed to be enemies. But the longer I’m in her world, the harder I fall. Fast, deep, and way past the point of no return.
If I’m not careful, I could lose more than my heart…I might lose her, too.
Someone To Hold is an emotional, swoony, steamy small-town romance. If you love enemies-to-lovers, he falls first bull rider heroes and so much found family goodness, this is your next read. Book 4 of The Skylark Series can be read as a standalone and has a guaranteed HEA.
USA Today and Top 5 Amazon Bestselling author Michelle Major writes swoon-worthy stories full of heart, heat, and guaranteed happily-ever-afters. When she’s not dreaming up romance, you’ll find her hiking the trails (or avoiding housework) in her home state of Colorado.
Molly is superwoman…Single (widowed) mom of twins, flower farmer trying to build a business all while trying to figure out what she wants in this life. When she injures herself, her mother-in-law finds a nanny to help Molly while she is on vacation. Chase is a local professional bull rider that can’t decided if it is time to close that chapter so he agrees to help out someone he owes a debt to. When his best friends’s mom asks him to help out with her grandkids, he can’t say no.
Michelle Major did it again. She just has a way of pulling you in. I enjoyed this book so much. I was rooting for Molly from page 1. I also loved how she highlighted some of the many things moms do behind the scenes to make sure their kids are happy, healthy and have magical memories from childhood. Also felt connected to Molly a little more as a fellow people pleaser trying to be better about speaking up for yourself.
Thank you to Michelle Major for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my review.
Someone to Hold comes out on 10/23/25!

Michelle Major delivers again! I love returning to Skylark, and Molly and Chase's story did not disappoint. Five stars all the way!
Update:
It’s time to return to Skylark! I’ve been anticipating Molly and Chase’s story since Chase showed up earlier in the Skylark series. Note, this is an interconnected standalone, and you do not need to read the previous books before diving into this one.
Someone to Love gave me all the feels! Windowed, single mom Molly doesn’t want to accept Chase’s help while she can’t put weight on her ankle. Ever since she overheard him trying to convince her husband to call off the wedding, she’s avoided him like the plague. Unfortunately, her mother-in-law calls in a favor, asking him to help Molly while she’s out of the country for five weeks. Stubbornly, she refuses his assistance until she realizes how difficult it is to care for her children and work her flower farm with a badly sprained ankle. Chase knows Molly can’t stand the sight of him, but by helping her, he’s paying off a debt he feels he owes his childhood best friend’s mom.
The bucket list challenge continues, and it’s Molly's turn. With her mother-in-law selling the farm once she returns and moving to Albuquerque, Molly reluctantly agrees to go with her. However, when her friends press her to choose something life-altering for her challenge, she decides she wants to buy the land and grow her flower business. Chase is supportive of Molly’s plan, even though he’s keeping a secret, one that conflicts with her dream. Will he follow his dream or give Molly hers?
One thing the most endearing things about this story is Molly’s children. They’re precocious and real. Luke and Laurel are twins, and while Laurel got her dad’s confidence and outgoing personality, Luke is more reserved and struggles to make friends. Chase picks up on it and takes Luke under his wing, and they forge a special bond.
Note, this is an interconnected standalone, and you do not need to read the previous books before diving into this one.
Tropes/Themes: • Small town romance • Bull rider • Flower farmer • Single mom • Who hurt you • Dislike to lovers • Forced proximity • He falls hard
I was really excited to get back to Skylark and the girls of the book club. I love the slow burn between Molly & Chase. The tension was so high between them… I also like the way Michelle introduced Molly’s children (Laurel & Luke) to Chase. Chase was very determined to make good on his debt to Teddy’s mother. The book club girls continue to show their support every step of the way specifically thru Avah and surprisingly we see a lot of Piper in this book as well. I’m understanding the setup for her next book… Despite Molly’s reticence to not like Chase she couldn’t help but feel something when he just kept on with being her caregiver/helper while she nurses her broken ankle. The dynamic between Chase and her kids just continue to grow and bring lots of challenges for Molly and life changing questions. Michelle once again brings you into the world of Skylark and its inhabitants and you get sucked right into the story and want to follow it to its end!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. If you loved the 3 others you will love this…Michelle knows how to keep the small town Romance coming!
I’ve been a big fan of the other books in the Skylark series and the wonderfully suportive circle of friends that are the book club babes. So I was super excited to receive an ARC copy of the latest book in this series.
In the last three books I was always left wondering: How does Molly get it all done? She’s a widow and a mother of young twins…. She’s also working hard and still always goes above & beyond to help her friends. This book finally gave me some answers and was a deep dive into Molly’s bucket list journey as she deals with accepting help from an old enemy, a cowboy named Chase…..
I’m not doing spoilers. Its a fun easy read that highlights all the different ways that the residents of Skylark, CO can care for each other and build up their community. If you enjoy small town romance or enemies to lovers tropes this will fit the bill. I’m slready eagerly awaiting reading about the next bucket list challenge in book 5 as this series from Michelle Major consistently delivers.
Book 4 in the Skylark series has all the feels, I couldn’t put this down!
Loved reading about Chase and Molly, getting their backstories and watching their story and growth unfold, and Chase with the kids, it’s 🔥! What an emotional rollercoaster. And no surprise Michelle sets us up for what will only be yet another truly amazing story with another character! Cannot wait for what next!
Enemies-to-lovers, he falls first, with just the right amount of steamy scenes!
In book 4 of the Skylark Series we experience the tumultuous story of Molly and Chase. As you know from the first three in the series, Molly (a flower farmer) is widowed with seven year old twins and lives with her controlling mother-in-law, Linda. Molly breaks her ankle just before Linda departs for a month long vacation and as an affront to Molly, Linda hires her late son's best friend Chase to help with the kids and farm while she is gone. Chase is a retired/injured rodeo cowboy with his own painful story to tell. Needless to say, Molly and Chase did not have friendly encounters the few times they met when she was married to his best friend.
Molly's book club besties are called to an emergency meeting to help her get rid of Chase. Her friends practice a bit of tough-love by turning the table and telling her it's her turn to complete the bucket list challenge. Now Molly must find the inner strength to take control of her own life and deal with Chase. Game on!
Both Molly and Chase are filled with pasts filled with grief and insecurity which left them with heavy loads of self-doubt and trust issues. Molly and Chase's story is one of emotional growth, chemistry, and learning that facing your past and your problems is much easier with support and friendship. I love the familiarity of the characters and setting of the Skylark Series, the love, support, and friendship of the book club, and the small-town sense of community. The characters in this series are all broken in some way, but develop the emotional strength to face their demons, and learn to love and grow.
And who doesn't love a good cowboy romance?
Thank you, Michelle Major, for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
The book club is BACK! I missed this girl gang so much and was anxiously awaiting Molly and Chase’s book in this series. Let me tell you, Michelle absolutely delivered on their story. This book was SO GOOOD - I could not put it down. Their love story was beautiful and painful at times, but also the most delicious slow burn.
Chase is Molly’s deceased husband’s best friend that is back in Skylark and looking to pay back a debt and looking for redemption from his difficult past. Molly is a single mom to twins that is struggling to keep her dream flower farm alive. Chase, the former bull-riding cowboy with a heart of gold, is back in town to lend a hand to settle his debts and move forward after a career ending injury. Due to a complicated past, Molly isn’t instantly accepting as she is independent and a bit stubborn and used to doing things on her own. Even though he knows it probably isn’t the best idea, he finds himself stealing a glances here and there and wonders if he’s falling for Molly. The chemistry between these two was chart topping and you couldn’t help but root for them.
The real MVPs of this story are Molly’s twins Laurel and Luke, who steal Chase’s heart almost immediately. These two delivered the cuteness and silliness and were such an adorable addition to Molly and Chase’s story. I really enjoyed the twin’s storyline and how they really helped to bring the story together.
I love that the Skylark series is that place that you can fall right back into and pick up right where you left off. Each book is like that cozy sweatshirt that you love that feels so familiar and makes you smile. Thank you to the lovely Michelle Major for allowing me to ARC read this beautiful story, I loved it. I cannot wait for what’s next!
Molly McAllister was a widow and mother to 7 year old twins, she is struggling to get out from under her mother in law Linda’s controlling ways. Molly has this idea of turning the family farm it into a flower farm and an event center but she is struggling to figure out how, especially since she broke her ankle right before Linda went on vacation. She knew she needed help, but having her husband’s best friend, Chase there to help her was farthest from her mind. He had tried to stop her & Teddy from getting married after all. But maybe, just maybe, giving him a second chance might not be so bad after all. He might help her win Linda over allowing her to purchase the farm.
Chase Calhoun did not expect to have to come back to Skylark so soon, but a serious injury while bull riding on the rodeo circuit made them change them. It also put an idea into his head of having his own cattle ranch and an opportunity presented it self with his former best friend’s family farm. Part of the agreement he reached with Linda was that he had to go and help Molly on the farm while she (Linda) was on vacation. He didn’t have a problem with it but knew he would be fighting an uphill battle with Molly. Especially when she found out he could be taking the farm away from her.
In order to make everything work out in the end, they would need help from the social book club, Linda (who might not be so bad after all), he realization that they both weren’t enemies after all and maybe the twins adding some excitement.
I don’t know how to explain it but there is just something about this author’s books that captures your attention before they are printed, you read it as soon as it is out, love it but also disappointed it is over and then are waiting on baited breathe because you can’t wait to see what is going to happen next in her series. Does that even make sense or am I just weird?
Thanks to the author for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Someone To Hold is book four in the Skylark series and is the story of Chase and Molly. This is an ex's best friend, close proximity, second chance, grumpy x sunshine romance. There are some difficult subjects in this book so please check your content warnings.
After Molly is injured, her deceased husband's best friend comes to her farm to help her and her kids. Chase is repaying a favor to his former best friend and his mother by helping Molly, in exchange for an opportunity to buy the farm.
Both Chase and Molly have had difficult pasts that make them see themselves as less than and not deserving of good things. As Chase helps Molly around the farm, he bonds with her and her kids and they settle into a domestic rhythm that is more comfortable than they anticipated. Can they get past their previous hurts and find happiness together?
The emotional connection and chemistry that Chase and Molly felt was palpable from the day Chase set foot on the farm. With such a rocky start, both were wary of one another but both quickly learned that their initial impressions of one another was entirely wrong. I enjoyed the way Chase bonded with each of the kids and took the time to understand them and encourage them in a way their father never bothered to. This book is a story of found family, a second chance at true love amd redemption through showing up and trust. The spice was fantastic and the banter was hilarious. As usual, the book club ladies were supportive and encouraging and their men embraced the bond of the group. I received an advanced copy of this book and am leaving an honest review as a show of appreciation.
Someone to Hold is, hands down, my favorite book in the Skylark series. From the very first paragraph, Michelle had me hooked with the opening scene.
Chase, our MMC, is a former professional bull rider. Molly, our FMC, is a widowed mom of twins and a flower farmer living with her mother-in-law. When Molly injures her ankle and finds herself temporarily unable to get around, her mother-in-law calls in a favor to Chase, asking him to help out on the farm and with the twins while she’s away.
So where’s the problem? Molly has never been Chase’s biggest fan since she overheard him telling her late husband, Teddy, not to marry her. When he shows up to help, she’s less than thrilled.
It doesn’t take long for sparks to fly between them. Chase can’t help but fall for his best friend’s widow even though he knows he shouldn’t, and Molly can’t ignore her growing feelings, even though she clings to past resentments. To make things more complicated, Molly learns that Chase has made a deal with her mother-in-law to buy the farm… the same farm Molly’s been dreaming of owning herself.
Despite the tension, their chemistry and connection between Chase and Molly is undeniable. Chase’s bond with Molly’s twins, Luke and Laurel, is special and the twins add so much to the story.
After a few bumps in the road and one terrifying moment no mother ever wants to experience, Chase and Molly finally find their happily ever after.
Someone to Hold has everything I love in a small-town romance: forced proximity, rivals to lovers, he falls hard, second chances, and characters who are relatable.

This story is the fourth book in The Skylark series, and I highly recommend it! I loved it and it’s definitely my favorite of the four stories! Chase Calhoun is a cowboy who was trampled by a bull six months ago. He wants to rebuild his life in Skylark, Colorado and wants something to call his own. He can begin this process since he agreed to help Molly McAllister, widow of his former best friend Teddy, while she is incapacitated with a foot injury. Molly and her seven-year-old twins live with her mother-in-law, but she is currently on a cruise, so that’s why Chase is needed. Molly can’t stand Chase for several reasons and doesn’t want his help. She has a flower farm business that is important to her. Her biggest regret is that she has let fear rule her life. That’s about to change when she accepts her book club’s bucket challenge by deciding she is going to live life on her terms and that means trying to buy her mother-in-law’s farm so she can grow her business and keep her children in a place they’re happy. The relationship between Chase and Molly gets off to a rocky start, but the more Molly realizes she needs his help, and sees how good he is with the twins, the more her feelings start to change. Chase’s feelings also begin to change for the better. They seem to be on their way to a happily-ever-after until Molly finds out that Chase has already made a deal with Molly’s mother-in-law to purchase the farm leaving her out in the cold. Will they be able to work this out so they can both have their dreams come true? You need to read this heartwarming, small town romance to find out. I received an advanced review copy of this from the author for my voluntary and honest review.
Another amazing book in The Skylark Series. We are introduced to Molly and Chase in Someone to Hold. This is a true enemies to friend romance and includes the wonderful friends from the book club I want to be part of!
Molly hates Chase due to the comments he made about her in the past. He made it very clear on her wedding day that he disliked her to her late husband (Chase's best friend), Teddy. Molly injures her ankle and Teddy's mother is going on a long trip "hires" Chase to look after Molly and her twins. Molly is in need of help with the twins and her business (flower farmer). It is also her turn at the bucket list challenge.
Her challenge.....say no to moving with her mother-in-law to New Mexico and purchase the family farm. She wants to stay in Skylark, raise her kids and make her flower business a success. The challenge did not include falling head over heels for Chase.
Chase is running from his past as well. Coming from a family with an abusive father he joined the bull riding circuit and hasn't been home much. After a career ending injury he is back and wants to settle down in Skylark and run a bull ranch. One way to get that ranch is to purchase his best friend's family farm. He never had plans on falling for his last best friend's widow and twins.
Love how Molly and Chase work through their past to come together as one.
ARC Review I am really loving the Skylark Series A group of friends has started a book club. One member has been battling cancer and has asked that they read a book about bucket lists and living life to the fullest. So each lady has agreed to identify and check off one bucket list item. Molly is a the widowed mom of twins...her bucket list item is to live her life out loud, to take care of herself and her babies instead of feeling like someone else is taking care of her. She's always been made to feel like a burden and incapable making decisions for herself. She is going to show her kids that dreams are meant to be lived. Molly also has a sprained ankle is not quite as mobile as she would like. Enter Chase Calhoun. Chase is Molly's deceased husband's best friend. He feels like he owes a debt to his friend and his family. Molly doesn't like Chase...I'll let you read why. So they don't get along very well at first. The kids don't know him...it's just a mess. Chase and Molly go through a lot. They learn so much about each other and themselves. This is a sweet story. It moves nicely over the space of a few weeks. It's not rushed or forced...just a really sweet love story. I have a feeling Miss Piper is next up....I'm excited about her secret. But I'm anxious about Avah's story! And I have to say...the way Avah calls Molly out is perfection. She said what I was thinking and exactly what Molly needed to hear! We all need an Avah in our circle.
Chase is “hired” by Molly’s mother-in-law to help her out while she is recovering from an injury. Molly is Chase’s best friend’s widow with two small children, a flower farm, and is not able to get around, drive, or lift anything while recovering. Enter the recovering rodeo bull rider to help. It seems that it’s her turn in her book club’s bucket list challenge to open herself up to something new or different in her life. Their initial conversations are dubious at best and downright hurtful at worst. Although there is an undeniable spark between them that won’t stay dim.
I loved, loved how much Chase grew during this story. What first comes off as arrogant and hurtful morphs quickly into caring and thoughtful. I fell more in love with him every time he interacted with Molly’s kids, and as he began to respect the strength and perseverance in Molly. Molly, realizing her own worth and finding her voice, was heartwarming, and I couldn’t help but applaud her at each moment of achievement. I particularly enjoyed watching her stand up to her MIL. There is so much in Molly and Chase’s past that is just not what it seems; once the stories unfold, you will understand why they are meant for each other. Although the book club ladies aren’t mentioned as much in this book as in the previous stories, they are there in the background, cheering Molly on as she goes after her own dream. I laughed, sighed, and cried through Molly and Chase’s journey, and I can’t wait for Piper’s story!
Chase and Molly's story begins years ago when Chase tells his best friend that he is crazy to marry Molly just because she got pregnant. Fast forward several years, Molly is a widow because her extreme adventure husband went into unsafe rapids without the right gear to protect him. Molly is living with her mother in law and running her business, a flower farm. Molly sprains her ankle bad, and her MIL gets Chase to help Molly for several weeks while she (the MIL) takes a vacation.
Molly is set against it. She thinks Chase doesn't like her and really wants nothing to do with him. But the chemistry and attraction is evident from the time Chase arrives on the farm. What Molly doesn't know is Chase has a deal with her MIL that could alter all Molly's plans. She begins to question her ability to stand on her own and to let someone in. Thanks to her book club friends, Molly jumps in to her bucket list challenge and sets out to buy the farm from her MIL.
I've read all the books in this series so far. I thought Someone to Love was my favorite, followed closely by Someone to Have. But This one takes it for me. Major draws amazing mental images with her writing. I could almost see the old barn and the fields of flowers. The scene in the rain, when Molly's son takes off, tugged at my momma heart. I am so excited to read the next one with Piper's story
FMC: Molly McAllister, Luke & Laurel (7) MMC: Chase Calhoun Spice: 🌶️🌶️ Pages: 296 Tropes: Enemies to Lovers, Best Friend’s Widow, Single Mom Romance, Cowboy Romance, He Falls First Setting: Skylark, Colorado
Thoughts: Molly and Chase both had a lot of emotional baggage. Some of it seemed similar and brought them together, but the biggest baggage they shared, their belief that they don’t deserve love, was also the biggest hurdle they faced. I really liked the character arc of both Molly and Chase. Molly was finally finding herself and where she fit in the community. With the help of her book club friends, she set a goal to start making decisions for herself instead of just going along with what her former mother-in-law wanted, and she achieved that and then some. I loved her love for her twins. Chase was fighting his own demons, and to see him accept the love Molly and her twins so freely gave him was special. He was finding his own place outside of bull riding after his accident, and it was not an easy road. I really liked his interactions with the twins, especially Luke. I like that he showed Luke that it was okay to have emotions and that it didn’t make him weak or less of a man. Overall, this was a great book and a good addition to the series.
Chase and Molly’s story was a perfect slow burn that started cold but became a beautiful flame. We got to know Molly in the prior stories about the Skylark book club and their bucket list challenge. She’s a super single mom of young twins trying to foster an upstart flower business. She’s also still living in the shadow of her late husband and his mother and has a history of being marginalized by those who are supposed to love and support her. Chase is a local rodeo hero recovering from an injury and contemplating his next chapter. He was Molly’s late husband’s best friend and came from an abusive home life that left him concerned he may be too much like his father to deserve being loved. Thrown together by Molly’s mother-in-law because Molly needs help and Chase is paying off what he believes is a debt owed to his friend’s mother, they get to know one another, and each begins to see the other in an unexpected way. Molly is fighting to find herself, her strength and make her own way as her bucket list challenge and Chase finds he wants to support her as she does so. There are some mishaps and misunderstandings along the way between them and with the kids, but ultimately, they find healing from past wounds and a path toward a bright future together.
In Someone to Hold, the fourth book of Michelle Major's Skylark series, we reconnect with Molly, one of the book club members we've met in previous books. Molly is a widow, having lost her husband, Teddy in a rafting accident, leaving her to raise their young twins, Laurel and Luke, on her own. They all live with Linda, Teddy's mother, who has decided to move to Albuquerque and plans on Molly and the kids joining her there. Molly however has other plans. Her bucket list item is to begin living life on her terms and that starts with buying Teddy's childhood home where they have been living and starting her own flower business. Life, however, has temporarily gotten in the way, leaving her with a severely sprained ankle that she cannot put any weight on. Enter Chase, Teddy's childhood best friend, who has been hired by Linda to help Molly while she recuperates. Unbeknownst to Molly, Linda also has a plan to sell the house to Chase. As the story progresses and Molly allows Chase to become a part of her twins’ and her lives, the heat rises and sparks begin to fly. Readers will be caught up in the heat, the honesty, the hurt, and the happiness in Someone to Hold. I would like to thank Michelle Major for the ARC in exchange for my review.
The bucket list challenge between the good friends in the book club continues in this new book in the Skylark series. This time its Molly's turn. She is a young widow with seven year old twins. She has a flower business on the land that belongs to her mother in law and her goal is to continue saving money and to make plans to buy the land and grow her business. But her mother in law has other plans and has decided to sell the land and insists that Molly and the kids move to Albuquerque once she returns from a trip. When Molly breaks her ankle, her mother in law decides to ask her deceased son's best friend Chase to help Molly. The only problem is that Molly doesn't want to ask for help and certainly doesn't want help from Chase who she strongly dislikes since she overheard Chase advising her soon to be husband not to go through with the wedding.
The strong feelings that Molly has for Chase make it almost impossible for him to help her until she realizes that she really does need help and agrees that he can help her on a limited basis. Even though Molly and Chase are enemies, the sparks begin to fly between them. He supports her plan to buy the land but is hiding a big secret from her that could easily bring their romance to a screeching halt. Can Chase and Molly be honest with each other and build a happily ever after from their distrust and dislike?
I enjoyed both main characters and the way their opinions of each other changed as they go to know each other better. This was a fantastic book to add to the Skylark series.
I loved Molly and Chase’s enemies to lovers story. They each have baggage and their demons to overcome. I really enjoyed the way this author gave us the backstory to their pasts and made us fall in love with these characters along the way. Molly is a single mom to her twins, Luke and Laura, after her husband, Teddy, died in a rafting accident. She lives with her mother-in-law, Linda, and has a flower farm to help support her family. Linda asks Chase to help Molly out while she’s on her vacation, since Molly has an injured ankle and can’t drive or move around very well. Chase agrees as a way to pay Linda back, but he does it for himself too. He wants to buy Linda’s farm. Molly is not happy with this arrangement at first, but she soon changes her mind. I’m not going to leave any spoilers, but this series just keeps getting better with each book. Grab your copy and see what happens in this beautifully written story.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
We are back in Skylark, there are so many parts to this book I loved. Molly and Chase take us on a rollercoaster of feelings. We have Linda, Molly’s mother in law, controlling her moves. We have the bookclub and their bucket list, Molly’s turn. In the center of this story is Molly and Chase, working through many parts of their not friendship. Seeing how we got here via flashbacks opened my eyes to struggles and strength Molly has overcome. As Chase has been hired by Linda to help Molly with the kids while she is gone, he is not exactly welcome. There is a past with these two, baggage, and Molly is the widow of Chases’ friend.
As both work to rebuild their lives, they have to work together. Feelings begin to change, and sparks are flying. But can Molly trust Chase?
I love how I just fall back into this world as I begin to read. It is like no time has passed at all. We have also been given a peak to where we are headed next. I am looking forward to more from this series.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Someone to Hold by Michelle Major… I cannot express to you how much I love this series!!! At this point, I feel at home every time I get to read about Skylark. If you haven’t read my previous reviews on the other books in this series, it follows a group of women who are on a journey to complete something off their bucket list to help distract their friend with cancer. Each story comes with a new trial and love interest. Someone to Hold follows Molly, and her two kids. She’s a widow and her deceased husband’s best friend Chase comes to help her during tough times. There is so much to say about this book. It’s got forgiveness, found family, single mom & a bull riding cowboy (my fav kind of man) the spice level isn’t too heavy but the story is absolutely beautiful! I loved it so much, and the way they heal together and find comfort and solace in each other. I cried, I laughed, I was happy and I was giddy! Another FANTASTIC story by this amazing author. Please go read it !!!! I’m obsessed!
Welcome back to Skylark where the book club challenge is in full swing. This time Molly has decided to take charge of her life. After injuring her ankle and her mother in-law scheduled to go a long vacation, Molly is in need of some help so her mother in-law in list's her late son's best friend to help Molly for a month while she is gone. Molly is building her flower business and really needs the help with the flowers and her twins. Chase has a debt to repay so he agrees to help Molly out with the understanding he will get to buy the property because Linda has decided to move to New Mexico. Molly and the kids are supposed to go with her only Molly wants to buy the farm from her mother in-law but doesn't know about the deal with Chase. As Chase and Molly get to know each other and the kids to, things change between Chase and Molly. Will Molly get her happy ever after? Will Chase let go of the past and grab the chance at happiness? Read it to find out.
Sooooo happy to be back in Skylark ❤️ as a big fan of Jessica Petersen and Elsie Silver, I truly felt this book belongs right alongside them. I’m a sucker for a cowboy romance and this did NOT disappoint.
It’s Molly’s then for the book club bucket list!
Molly - a single mom raising her twins and doing it so damn well. You learn she didn’t have the most loving upbringing so she’s making damn sure her kids do. She has dreams and slowly is learning to gain confidence to make those come true.
Chase - I’m not spoiling how he has already entered the picture once but he rolls in to be of assistance due to Mollys injury and he doesn’t just help out around the house and with the kids but with her dreams, needs and so much more. I mean how can you not fall for this cowboy. He is scarred from a rough upbringing but his heart finds the love it deserves.
-rivals to lovers -small town -single mom -found family -🌶️🌶️🌶️
And of course a cliff hanger at the end of the book 🫣
What a wonderful story. This was one of those books that just made you want to keep reading no matter what time you began.
Not really an enemies to lovers trope, but also not friends to lovers. Chase and Molly knew each other years before, since Molly married Chase's best friend. Once Teddy died, Molly was left with twins and had to move in with her mother-in- law. Chase is asked to help Molly after she sprains her ankle and her MIL is on vacation.
As they work through their personal issues, Molly keeps seeing another side of Chase and Chase is enamored with Molly and her kids. Chase still thinks he is not worthy of Molly since he has an awful father! A truly tender story even with misunderstandings that happen as you get to know each other. I laughed. I cried. This one just gets you in the feels.
This is the 4th book in the Skylark series, but is easily a stand-alone read.
Book 4 in the Skylark series!! As usual Michelle’s latest book is wonderful, heartwarming and has all the feels!
Molly is tired of everyone acting like they know what’s best for her. Between her deceased husband, her mother in law now Chase..
Chase was hired by Her mother in law to help Molly who is dealing with a broken ankle. He’s had a crush on Molly for awhile. Now he’s living in an Airstream on her property to help take care of Molly and her Twins while the mother in law is on vacation.
They are supposed to move to NM when she gets back.
Molly realizes that Skylark os her home!! She wants to stay and turn the farm into a flower farm! But Chase has a plan to buy the farm too!
Will Molly’s dreams come true or will Chase take the farm out from under her??
I love how Molly’s character grew from the beginning of the story till the end!
I am so excited for the next book!! I absolutely love this series!
Another brilliant chapter in the Skylark series with Molly & Chase!!
Poor Molly has been doing it all for the whole series - being mum, trying to keep herself afloat and build her own independence since her husband passed and it was so satisfying seeing someone step up beside her and help shoulder some of the physical and emotional load of being human.
Chase is the perfect match to Molly. Their love isn’t loud, it’s shown in the quiet times. The small moments that mean a lot at the end of the day. Chase holds Mollys hand whilst she gains confidence and independence to build her own future without over running her and trying to fix everything for her. His love comes through in acts of service and the way he openly embraced her children even when he is self proclaimed “not a kids kind of guy”. Although he had his own journey to acceptance, I loved seeing the dynamic with his family (especially his sister and his mother) and the way he tries to protect those around him.
Molly was the person who does everything for everyone. She’s the mum who makes the cupcakes but also will be there for her friends whenever they need it. It was so satisfying to see her finally put her own dreams first. She has needed someone like Chase from the very start but it’s lovely to see them bloom together.
