Sage Baker was the rightful heir to Baker Farm.

Unfortunately for her, the constant threat of bankruptcy pressures her to step aside. While her heart remains with the herd, the dream of running her own dairy farm quickly fades, and she's forced to pass her future on to someone else.

When Miles Carver stumbles upon the property, priced to sell, he buys it without thinking twice. Nothing could possibly stand between him and forty acres of rolling hills. That is until he realizes that buying the farm has sealed his fate as Sage Baker’s enemy.

Sage tries her damndest to avoid him, but when Miles calls her, begging for help, she has no choice but to intervene. A mutual love for the herd brings them close, but just as they begin to put their differences aside, the very thing that brought them together threatens to tear them apart. Another horrible accident shakes Lox, Virginia, and when Baker Farm may cease to exist, the pair has to answer a difficult question—

Do they do what it takes to save the farm or sever the bond that was never supposed to be?

“The walls I’d built began weakening, and by the time we hung up, I hopelessly vowed to allow each brick to crumble if it meant granting myself the simple pleasure of being with Miles. I’d carried the vase of tulips into my room, and as I admired them from the coziness of my bed, I couldn't help but feel happiness, the perfectly arranged hues of yellow serving as a constant reminder of his effort.

i. book review
I should hate you — Gracie Abrams

Oh my goodness this story was SOOOO cute. It was a very enjoyable book, slow at times, but enjoyable. The plot, characters, setting, EVERYTHING, was so well thought out and written I absolutely love it.

You could really tell how much Sage and Miles loved the farm and the animals, especially with BLOSSOM…. The sweetest little baby angel cow ever omg ;(((. Sage and Miles' relationship is sososo cute and realistic (kinda fast paced but that's okay!!) It was so fun being able to watch it grow, it was like watching my own relationship (which i don’t have…) Everyone should read this book and learn about the tractor scene (trust you’ll let out a laugh!!) Such a cute and funny scene that definitely deserves all the love.

The first part of the book was kinda slow, but very cute, and while the second part was better paced, it got SAD. I’m so glad everything worked out but omg… tears WERE shed. (TWS might want to be checked before starting this)

Book Title: Till The Cows Come Home
Author(s): Sarah Summers
Publisher(s): Independent/No Audiobook

🍿 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴: I will be honest, the cover and title of Till The Cows Come Home by Sarah Summers are what made me want to read this book and they did not steer me wrong! I grew up on a farm with beef cattle, cats, dogs, and chickens (plus corn and grains) and had a friend whose dad owned a dairy farm, so most of the more technical aspects weren’t new for me. I still learned some things along the way though which is always a plus.

🤩 𝚃͏𝚑͏𝚎͏ 𝙱͏𝚎͏𝚜͏𝚝͏ 𝙱͏𝚒͏𝚝͏𝚜͏: I loved Sage and Miles (AKA The Lumberjack) so, so much and their slow burn relationship was everything I could have wanted. They are both dealing with some things and watching that play out while they fall in love was enough to bring tears to my eyes. I got really emotional during the reading of this book and there are a couple of scenes towards the end that I was verging on an ugly cry. There is just the right amount of spice and banter combined with heartfelt moments that play on your heartstrings, and I still can’t quite believe this is a debut novel.

💭 𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴: This is the spicy romance set on a farm that I never knew I needed, and I fell in love with Summers’ writing instantly. Every word felt necessary, and nothing dragged even a tiny bit. If you are looking for an emotional romance that will also make you LOL, I highly recommend grabbing Till The Cows Come Home. Triggers are at the front for easy access, but trust me, you won’t be sorry!

This was such a sweet, small-town romance centered around Baker Farms, a place that means everything to Sage, the headstrong and passionate FMC. For Sage, the farm represented her past, her present, and the future she always dreamed of. So when her parents sold it without telling her, the betrayal cut deep and strained their relationship.

Enter Miles, the new owner of Baker Farms, grieving the recent loss of both parents and searching for peace in the simplicity of farm life. Sage is immediately resentful, seeing him as the man who took her future. But as they are forced to work together to breathe new life into the farm, the walls between them begin to crumble.

There’s a slow build of trust between Sage and Miles, and while their romance had its fair share of ups and downs, it was heartwarming to see them grow not only as a couple but also as individuals. Family dynamics, grief, and second chances all play a role in shaping their journey.

This was an endearing read with a lovely message about healing and letting go of the past to build something new.

Holy freaking cow, I am soo excited for everyone to read this. It is a story of heartbreak, redemption, and new beginnings. The pacing of the book is fabulous, the way Sarah Summers has set this up is amazing. She effortlessly pushes Sage and Miles timeline and you see them build their relationship together;it isnt forced or rushed. The growth that Sage has to go through in this book is tremendous and Miles was always there to help guide her gently. I am so glad I was able to receive this ARC and I can not wait to read more from her.

This was my first small town romance, and I can get behind this type of romance!

The begrudging friendship between Sage & Miles in the beginning is a little comical because Sage is such a sour little grump that Mile refuses to let go of. It was strangely endearing and I liked it!
I enjoyed their friends to lovers timeline, but at one point, it felt a little fast for me like we skipped a step in that journey to lovers that took me out of the book for a little. (I ended up back into it and invested, but I couldn't put my finger on what I felt was missing.)

Their relationship definitely is one that can make or break you emotionally as a reader. Like damn that last 1/3 of the book I was like 'I think I need a hug'.
However, like any good relationship that readers have with characters, there were many scenes where I could have hugged and violently shaken Miles & Sage at points.

SIDE NOTE - I would DIE FOR BLOSSOM! That cow had me crying!
I really felt the authenticity of the farm life in this book.

*I was blessed to be part of the arc team. However, I will always still give an honest review of the book, which is what this is*

(ARC Review)

In rural Virginia lies Baker Farm. A dairy farm where a small family struggles to stay a float, which ultimately leads to the selling of Sage’s one and only dream, to successfully run and operate for her parents.

Sage Baker is a strong willed, hard headed, intelligent woman. She’s been raised to be that way. The representation of not only a powerful woman, but plus sized rep as well? SAGE (and Sarah) I LOVE YOU. (I am she, she is me.)

Miles Carver is the out of place, caring, and determined lumberjack-esq man who bought Barker Farm. He’s on a mission to make sure his new endeavor thrives and he’s set out to win the girl in the process.

When I tell you guys this is genuinely one of the BEST books I’ve ever read… from the characters, to the plot, to the details, to the writing. I couldn’t put it down which resulted in me finishing it in a day!

When reading be sure to remember the triggers in the beginning (death of an animal and CPR preformed on a parent on page)! I know those topics are sensitive to some!

Thank you Love Notes PR for this book.

So here is my honest review.

Pretty much everything that could go wrong went wrong for the fmc, Sage Baker. In my opinion, it was too many things that happened to her. But also the way she handled things were not the best. I get not everyone can handle things well but she was very one tracked minded. It was all about her thoughts and feelings and not even considering the others who went through the same things. Like her parents being forced to sell the family farm. She took it personal, like they personally jaded her. Never taking into account that they were having to sell something they built from the ground and were also struggling. Yes, I’ve encountered worse fmc who are truly selfish, but Sage is the in between. But still not the best.

I would have liked to see more of her and Miles (the mmc who bought her family farm). I was wondering the whole time if she really liked him or just liked being back on the farm. He was completely for her and that was clear but not so much for her. I think elaborating more on that than the extra problems that came along would have helped. But also their chemistry wasn’t that great. Which is why I wondered if it was the farm or him. My money is on the farm.

It wasn’t a bad book, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t one I would read again and needed more.

I was kindly given an ARC of Till The Cows Come Home and it did not disappoint! this was like nothing I’ve ever read before and it was such an intriguing story. I was honestly lost in it while reading this, it was so enjoyable. i loved the plot, the characters, the setting, it was all amazing and it made me not want to put it down. the found family in this was lovely, with everyone being so supportive and a tight knit family and it was so wholesome. I loved the way Miles and Sage met and how they got to know each other and bonded over the farm, their relationship was beautiful and so heartwarming. it was so sweet seeing them together and being there for each other. Sage is a relatable character and Miles is just such a genuine guy and so kind, I loved them together. their banter was good too, it was funny and Miles essentially being an old man (so many scenes I was laughing at him) I enjoyed seeing Sage and Miles develop and grow and build their relationship with her parents, it felt very realistic. it was honestly such a beautiful story and could not recommend it more. such a good read! Let me start by saying without reading this book I will proudly display it on my shelves because I LOVE COWS !!!

That being said holy smokes !! I absolutely loved this sweet book , sage and the baker family unfortunately live through something many family’s deal with not just in our country but around the world. Those events introduce us to Miles, who unknowingly became enemy number one for sage .

Sage is a feisty, stubborn farm girl and Miles wants nothing more than to egg her on and I was here for it all. I absolutely loved this book from start to finish. My heart literally melted as the story progressed . The plot was so incredibly sweet and who doesn’t love a respectful sweet golden retriever farmer . Sage and miles have such good chemistry and the funniest banter. I would love to be in their shoes and live among the cows.

The plot and chemistry aside , let’s not forget about the sweet babies. If I ever have the pleasure of owning a cow my first calf will be named blossom. Reading this book was the highlight of the year .

Y’all I’m from a tiny town in the Midwest and this book hits the small town vibes to a frickin T!!! The way this is the most on point for anyone who’s ever lived on a farm or in a farming community whooo🐄

Sage Baker’s family has had a dairy farm her entire life. She eats, sleeps, and lives for her family farm…until finances become a huge issue, and her parents decide to sell out from under her🫠 Miles is the man who buys Baker Farms and is obviously the sworn enemy of Sage. They don’t cross paths for years, which is saying something in a small town, until one day they do.

I love Sage Baker and her fiery ness!! There’s plenty of emotion in this book and spice! I found myself emotionally stressed out multiple times while reading 😂 I swear if the ending would’ve turned out a different way I would’ve rioted!!! Thank you so much to Sarah Summers for sending me this PR package and book. I had a frickin blast reading this 🐄🖤

Thank you Sarah & Love Notes PR for the ARC.

This small town romance begins with the baker family needing to sell their farm which Sage was meant to inherit due to the financial burden they were unable to get out of.

Miles buys the farm and some years later he spots Sage at a farmers market not knowing who she was and instantly fell for her.

Sage is a super fiery stubborn girl and Miles gives golden retriever vibes.

This book felt authentic in how they explained farm life.

Let’s not forget about Blossom!!!!

this book was so cute!! i originally applied for this arc because the cover was so cute and i haven’t read many farm centered romances, and let me say this did NOT disappoint. sage and miles are the most iconic couple ever and the plot line of the story was so well written. i was so impressed and i loved being able to get every aspect of romance but also the deep emotional vulnerability that came with this book. overall, it was beautiful and i’ll probably be rereading it in a few weeks.

"You're the light, Sage. In the darkest of nights, you're the starrs, and in the brightest days, you're the sun. I don't know how you do it, but you make everything better."

Thank you Sarah Summers for sending me an ARC of your debut book!

Read if you like:
- Fast paced read (and under 300 pages!)
- Dual POV
- He falls first
- Cute farm animals
- Emotional elements

I enjoyed getting to follow along in Miles & Sage's story! While their love between each other did occur quickly I feel like it was fitting for these two characters. You know from the first interaction that Miles was determined to get Sage's attention and man he sure steal her attention. While this is a small town romance with some great spice there are definitely some heavier moments in the last bit of the book. The author did provide a trigger warning page at the front of the book which I always appreciate! Overall, I enjoyed this read and excited to see what Sarah Summers writes in the future.

Sage Baker lost her first love, her family farm but in turn it brought her to her biggest love, Miles Carver.

The small town romance is spot on in this book! The emotions were flowing with the trauma that Sage and Miles go through during this book. They were the perfect couple and watching their growth together throughout the book pulled me in making me not want to put it down!

Thank you Sarah Summers and Love Notes PR for the opportunity to read and review this as an ARC!

This was a very sweet story about healing, forgiveness, and finding your way back to what matters. There are discussions of family, loss, and second chances that were very touching, it reminded me of a cutesy hallmark movie! I personally found the pacing a bit slow and had a hard time getting into it at first. That said, it was a heartfelt journey once things settled in.

ARC REVIEW
This book tells the story of Sage, a girl who had to watch her dream of inheriting her parents’ farm fall apart when they were forced to sell it. Then, out of the blue, three years later she crosses paths with Miles—the new owner of the farm.
At first, there’s a bit of tension between them, but eventually, a sweet relationship blossoms.
I found Sage really cute. I like that she’s a curvy girl who talks about her insecurities and is so open about expressing her feelings.
Miles is adorable—he’s a giant farmer, but with the heart of a teddy bear.
While it’s definitely a sweet and lovely story, the romance felt a bit too instalove for my taste. Everything happened a little too quickly, and I wish there had been more development in the relationship.
Overall, it’s a charming story, set in a small town, and a pleasant read.

While this is not exactly a cowboy romance, this book was right up my alley and I had a really great time reading it! Overall, I enjoyed the story, the characters, and the dymanic between our main couple, Sage and Miles. Till the Cows Come Home felt almost like a Hallmark movie, but in the best way possible.

Let’s get one thing straight: Till the Cows Come Home absolutely hooked me with its messy, raw characters and emotional punch. From page 19, I was already obsessed with Sage—she’s such a kickass character with layers of vulnerability, and her bond with Ruby was everything. Their relationship had this fierce, beautiful loyalty that grounded the book emotionally.

Miles? Oh, he’s a goner from the jump. Early on it was completely clear that t he was already half in love, and I lived for the anticipation of the grovel arc—because when a man fumbles this hard, you want the emotional payoff. And we get it, mostly.

There are some genuinely gut-punching moments in this book. “When was the last time you let someone love you?” had me absolutely floored. And I loved how self-aware Miles is when it comes to his dynamic with Sage—it’s not all clean or easy, and the story doesn’t pretend otherwise.
But pacing-wise, it’s not always smooth. The transition from enemies-ish to friends to full-on hooking up felt rushed . It almost felt like we skipped a chapter or two, and while the sex scenes are well done—balancing vulnerability with physical intimacy—I needed a bit more emotional groundwork to make it feel earned.

Sage’s growth throughout the book is chef’s kiss. Her complicated feelings about her parents and her grief are so well-handled, especially how she says she doesn’t quite know how to forgive them yet—and that’s okay . This book doesn't tie grief and reconciliation up in a neat little bow, and that felt honest and powerful.

Also, Miles asking Ruby for Sage’s favorite things? Adorable. More men should take notes. And the open communication?! HELL YES. No dumb miscommunications here, just characters actually learning and growing.

However… we need to talk about Blossom. The emotional damage that almost came from that storyline? Unforgivable. I was fully ready to take a star off for killing off a goat. Thankfully, all was (mostly) well. But then the Stu heart attack hits and it just felt like one drama too many—emotionally exhausting in a way that didn’t quite serve the story’s core.

The third-act breakup, though? Painful in the best way. For once, a split with real stakes and consequences—no “he’s too famous” fluff here. The grief, the family dynamics, the perspective from Sage’s father… it was raw, grounded, and probably one of the strongest parts of the book.

All in all, this was a deeply emotional, occasionally messy but heartfelt read with standout character arcs—especially for Sage. It fumbles a little in pacing and throws in a few too many dramatic twists, but the emotional payoff is worth it

Debut author Sarah Summers shines with Till the Cows Come Home. It is obvious she put so much time and effort into every detail of this story! I don’t know how anyone couldn’t enjoy this book. From a devastating betrayal to finding the person your heart can’t be without, everything in this book was sweet, romantic, and fun. I loved reading about farm life and how much this meant to both of our MCs. I am excited to read more of Sarah as well, because this book is wonderful.

Sage has never seen anything different for her outside of Baker Farms. The farm that has been a part of her entire life and the farm that will build her future. Until her parents sell it, without telling her, and her dreams come crashing down. How could her parents do this to her, without any warning or conversation? And the new owner? She only works with him because she is forced to, but she doesn’t have to like any part of it. Sage’s adoration and commitment to Baker Farms is inspiring. She cares so much for every animal on that farm and truly wants to see it thrive. I loved her passion for the place she not only calls home but where her heart is at peace.

Miles needs a change. After losing both parents, the simple life of living on a farm calls to him. So when he buys Baker Farms, he is ready for peace and simplicity. He gets everything but when he meets the former owner’s daughter, who already doesn’t like him. Having to work with someone who obviously dislikes you isn’t easy, but it’s what he must do to make farm life work. Except, walls slowly begin to dismantle, trust is earned, and a spark ignites between them. Maybe, just maybe this simple farm will bring something deeper and more real than either could plan on.

Both of our MCs are healing in their own right. As their relationship changes from the initial anger Sage feels, they are able to lean on and support each other. The hurt they both feel, coincidentally from their parents, is deep in their souls, but together they are able to let go of the hurt and grow stronger together. As their hearts heal, they find companionship within each other. The themes of healing, forgiveness, and second chances are woven throughout the storyline. Their journey is a beautiful one to read about.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

I absolutely loved Till the Cows Come Home! Sage is such a relatable, curvy heroine dealing with a lot of pain after her parents sell the family farm. Miles, the burly city guy who buys it, seems like the enemy at first—but turns out to be a total softie who’s completely obsessed with her in the best way.

Their banter is adorable, the chemistry is off the charts, and I loved how emotionally open and vulnerable Miles is. It was so refreshing to see a blue-collar man written with real depth. Watching both Sage and Miles grow and heal together made this such a beautiful, heartfelt read.

Thank you to the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this ARC!

This book had me hooked from the first chapter and left me smiling (and blushing) until the very last page.

Sage Baker is still reeling after losing her lifelong dream of running her family’s farm, sold unexpectedly to a city boy who wants a major change in his life named Miles Carver. Because of her grief she isolates herself from the community and her family, until her best friend Ruby nudges her to rejoin the world. Enter Miles—burly, bearded, and totally smitten from the second he lays eyes on Sage (without realizing who she is).

The dynamic between Sage and Miles is everything. Think slow-burn tension, sweet and witty banter, and those delicious “he falls first” vibes. Miles is the perfect mix of emotionally in-tune and filthy-mouthed farmer, while Sage is a fiercely independent animal lover with a soft heart she keeps well-guarded. When something happens on the farm and Miles has no one to turn to for help he calls \Sage desperate. Sage drops everything and comes running because she never lost her love of the farm or the animals on it.

This book delivers on:
🐄 Small-town charm
💘 Enemies to lovers
🔥 Steamy moments
💪 A hero who will do anything for his girl
🐕 Animals that steal your heart

If you love your romance with heart, heat, and a heavy dose of cows and community, then this one’s a must-read.

Title: Till The Cows Come Home
Author: Sarah Summers

“I’m so sorry I was so awful to you.”

Sage Baker always thought she’d run her family’s dairy farm—until money trouble forced her parents to sell it right out from under her. Heartbroken, she avoids anything to do with the farm for years… What really throws her is finding out the buyer never even changed the farm’s name—and he’s way younger than she expected. Miles Carver, the new owner, is an only child born to two only children, raised by older parents, and working at the same accounting firm as his dad until everything changed. After losing both his mom and dad within a year, he left his hometown behind and bought the farm to start fresh. He is instantly drawn to Sage—stubborn attitude and all. She’s determined to hate him, but when complications with the birth of a calf bring them together in a truce, she slowly starts warming up to him. Sage’s reconciliation with her parents at the end of the story is quietly emotional—she finally sees that their decision to sell the farm wasn’t betrayal, but a hard choice made out of love.

This small-town romance is all about second chances, family, and finding love where you least expect it. Blossom the cow is just too adorable! Sage and Miles’ slow burn felt natural and well-paced—no insta-love, just two people figuring things out. The farm setting pulled me in without overdoing it—realistic enough to resonate, especially with what I’ve picked up from time spent on our family farm. I laughed, got a little misty, and honestly didn’t expect it to hit me like that. If you’re into small-town romance with a warm vibe and real heart, this one’s worth picking up!

A big thanks to Love Notes PR and Sarah Summers for providing me with a digital ARC of this book!

I love the name of the book, and the cover, it fits the small town that is created in this book.

Tropes
#hefallsfirst, #smalltown, #enemiestolovers, #slowburn, #2ndchances, #grumpy/sunshine, # plussizedrep, please read the triggers as well.
This book was a sweet, heartfelt story. It beautifully captured the essence of small-town life and featured an excellent community dynamic. Sage and Miles are your main characters and their story was very well written.

Sage is a very strong willed, intelligent woman, she was raised right, and her parents, they are such a great role model. Sage is the rightful heir to the Baker farm, however the threat of bankruptcy will not go away, she has tried, but the pressure, she has decided to step aside, while her herd stays with her herd, her dream quickly fades, and she has to let it go. But why him?

Miles – he is a lumberjack, caring, and he is on a mission to succeed, one day he stumbled on the Baker property, and he buys it without thinking twice. His dream, 40 acres, and no one to stand in his way of his dream, until!

“I’ll always need you. If not, simply just to be a pain in my ass.”

These two are perfect for each other, loved the banter. Miles realizes that buying this farm has sealed his fate as Sage’s enemy, and Sage is doing her best to stay away from him. But one day Miles called, begging for help with the herd, she had no choice but to intervene and help.
They have a mutual love of the herd, which brings these two closer, and is one thing that could break them apart.

“You’re the light, Sage. In the darkness of nights, you’re the stars and the brightest of days, you’re the sun. I don’t know how you do it, but you make everything…better.”
Oh no, there’s an accident, oh it’s bad! So bad it shakes Lox, Virgina and Bakers Farm could be lost forever.

What will they do? Will they do what it takes to save the farm? Or go their separate ways as they should have never gotten close to begin with.

Till the cows come home

What a sweet read—exactly what I needed 💕 I absolutely adored Miles and Sage! Their chemistry made this a delicious fast-burn romance, and the animal side characters? Utterly adorable 🐮 🐔. There was a twist I did not see coming, and it added such a powerful layer of emotion. Watching them navigate grief and find healing together made their love story even more meaningful. Highly recommend!

Tropes:
Grumpy ex farmer MFC
New dairy farmer in town
Small town romance
Plus size rep
Witty banter
Grief and healing

Book overview:

First, a disclaimer: I'm a typical city girl who has little understanding of what a cow is (kidding). Although I enjoy reading about it, my perspective might differ from someone who has actual experience.

The story begins with a bit of a drama queen. I must admit, I didn't resonate with the idea that the world should suddenly end just because a business is struggling. Let me explain. Sage is the daughter of two once-successful farmers, and now their farm is at risk. They decide to sell it, which is when the drama unfolds. Sage despises this idea and feels like her life is over, which I found excessive. From my perspective, it seems odd to be so dramatic about one setback, especially considering my lack of experience in that area. But that’s who Sage is, and in this emotional state, she encounters Miles. Not exactly how I would want to meet the love of my life though but...

Miles appears to be a reasonable character. He feels trapped in his previous life, so he takes what he sees as a necessary step: he buys a farm. That's when everything truly begins.

What I appreciated most in the story was the portrayal of the parent-child relationship, the support from the town, and the journey of the female main character as she seeks to rediscover herself. Miles was a gentle presence during this time. He wasn’t pushy and was just right for her.

Overall, there were ups and downs in the story. I didn’t appreciate the overly dramatic elements of the story. It felt a bit too dramatic for my taste. Despite that, would I recommend this book? Absolutely! I loved the story, the plot, and the overall atmospherecreated a nice, pleasant mood. Therefore, I would rate it a solid four stars.
