Just a few months after facing up against a witch, Allen and his friends are back. Allen, Christina, Reece and Ron head off to a huge state park for a spot of relaxing camping. But when they get there, Allen finds himself confronted by ghosts and realises that something evil is lurking nearby. It's up to him and his friends to defeat this creature as the bodies pile up.

Another fast-paced, grippong adventure. It's so cool seeing all these different monsters and how Allen and friends fare against them. Am loving seeing Allen growing up and discovering his unique abilities as they grow with him. He outdid himself this time.
This is fast becoming one of my favourite book series. I was hooked from the first book and every time there's a new book, I jump on that ARC train straight away. Not one of these books has disappointed and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Allen and fis friends are on vacation now that school is out. They go camping and stumble on their most deadly case yet. it is something they have never seen before. it is extremely fast and hungry. Can Allen and his friends stop it before it takes over the perfect host? Fast-paced, paced, intense read.

When I heard about this book, it was a bag of mixed emotions for me. One the one hand, it's a new installment in the 'I killed a cursed creature'-series, so that's an automatic and exuberant yay! On the other hand, it clearly has a Lovecraftian theme. I realize I might not be making myself real popular right now, but I've never been a Lovecraft-fan.

So, somewhat hesitant, I started the book anyway, because, well, new Sam Whittaker, so duh...

And yes, there's a definite Lovecraftian theme but in a way it didn't bother me. It was a nice change of pace compared to the other, (less?) otherwordly monsters (although they'll always be my favourite) and it worked. The first part of the book, I thought I was somewhat missing the vibe the previous books brought, but whether that was real or in my head, the vibe soon returned and in the end, it was another highly enjoyable and thoroughly satisfying installment in this series. The progression Allan makes, not only as he ages but also in understanding (or discovering) his own abilities is interesting and of course, I'm again so on board for the next book.

I absolutely love these books. If you are a fan of Monster Squad and Gruesome 80's horror, you will love these, too. I'm not sure why it says that Allen is reluctant to fight. He 100% is not. He is, however, reluctant to go camping, which I can completely relate to. I am absolutely sure that he was glad to be saved from camping by having to fight off a blood thirsty, terrifying monster. That is definitely in his wheelhouse, camping not so much. Allen DeShawn is a fantastic character. I love him and his rag-tag crew of friends and family who are always ready to help despite the insurmountable circumstances.
Horror fans, check it out.

Great series

Mr Whittaker, I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. At first I was worried about the Dominic character, but you brought out his true self through the creature . I await more in this series.

Great job

This is an excellent horror story. This time Allen and his friends are pitted against a creature far more dangerous than any they've fought before. They must find a new way to fight the beast.

Love this series!

Always looking forward to the next installment. I liked the sci-fi angle in this edition verses the cryptid and supernatural. The expansion to the main character’s abilities was a nice touch as well. Can’t wait to see what he takes on next and further develops and grows as a monster hunter.
