The title refers to the pieces of silver Judas Iskariot received for his betrayal in the Jesus myth. Some of the coins still exist and have the power to bring evil into the world. So far the story without spoiling to much. The first half of the book had me captured and it would have gotten 4 stars. But in the second half the author was just babbling nonsense. I stuck with it cause I wanted to know the end of the story, but that was very disappointing.
Wow!

Wow! It's been a long time since I've been so "captured" by a book with a mystical-religious subject. The increasingly fast pace of the action corrupts you and makes you unable to put it down. A well-written and well-documented thriller. A must read!
A mystical coin grants the holder great power but also corrupts them.
As a pure thriller (I have no idea whether any of the historical / religious references are correct) the first ninety percent really grabbed me (it reminded me of the Omen) but towards the end it got a bit muddled and in a few places the writing could have been tighter.
Very much in the "Dan Brown" style, there are several storylines which are confusing initially, but they do come together and from that point the book moves forward well and keeps you gripped to the end.
There is some excellent weaving of fact & fiction in this book, and it's good to have a bibliography to see where the author got some of his facts. I enjoyed the book but felt that the ending is a little rushed & patchy as if the author wasn't sure whether he wanted to draw all the threads together and close the story or leave it open for a sequel.
I think the only reason I gave it only three stars is that it was a bit too religious for my taste. I believe in God, don't get me wrong, I just have a problem with religion in general. Anyway, it was actually a really interesting read, and I learned a lot from it, especially since it motivated me to read Carl Jung's The Undiscovered Self which was also amazing and really inspiring.
Der Judasfluch, a book about the 30 silver coins of Judas. In this book, because of what Judas did, the coins have great power to destroy the church. Another church conspiracy book, a bit page turner.
