"Bubbles on the Run: Benjay and the Magical Bubbles Book 4" is a middle-grade fantasy adventure story that builds on the prior three books in the series in a very satisfying way. What I like most about this series, especially book 4, is the unexpected plot, the various Bubbles (who are cleverly named) and their interactions with Benjay, Lindsay, and now Sarah and a few other new characters (kids and adults) that make book 4 a real page turner. In this story, Benjay, Sarah, and Lindsay find themselves outwitting those who might do the Bubbles harm in the name of science. It’s a roller coaster ride from start to finish to save the Bubbles who are being tracked with electronic devices from being found. There’s a fair amount of adventure, a bit of mystery, scariness, and high jinks, not to mention an exciting bike ride escape scene you can feel in your bones as the bike peddled by Sarah carrying Benjay attempts to thwart the bad guys. It’s a fun story, filled with lots of humor, and a marvelous fantasy adventure series that explores themes of family, friendship, courage, and Benjay’s battle against cancer. A great family read!
