Wrong Number, Right Single Dad

Rate this book
It was supposed to be a fling.

Just a spicy hook-up—no strings attached.

But when a misdial sends me to a stranger’s door in lingerie, and he turns out to be a hot single dad who actually needs a babysitter for his daughter?

Yeah. It’s awkward.

Now I’m playing emergency nanny for the weekend.
The rules are no funny business. No falling for each other.
Too bad Jared is grumpy, gorgeous, and ridiculously good with his hands.

Turns out they’re just as good at starting fires inside me as they are at fighting them out in the field.

I promise I won’t catch feelings.
He swears this is temporary.

But somewhere between French toast, bedtime stories, and a pet hedgehog named Tater Tot, our no-strings fling starts to feel like home.

Then a secret from my past threatens to unravel everything.

Can a firefighter, a singer with a checkered past, and one sassy little girl really become a family?

Or will my happily ever after go up in smoke?

WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Jared and Delaney met through an app for hookups, then met to have sex. They agree on a few things first and don't know one another real names. Jared accidentally messages Delaney when he needs to head out of town for work. Delaney gets a message from Jared that he needs her but she thinks it's weird because he gives her his address and they agreed not to. When Delaney arrives at Jared's house she's isn't wearing much. When Jared's daughter comes around the corner she wants to know why Delaney isn't wearing much. Jared takes Delaney into his office and then finds out he accidentally messaged her when he wanted to message his babysitter. Delaney asks if she can watch Jared's daughter, Hannah since she doesn't have anything going on this weekend. After Jared gives Delaney instructions, he heads off. The following day Jared gets a phone call from Delaney about Hannah's goldfish. Jared tells her to buy another one it's what he's been doing all along. When Jared comes home Sunday night he finds Delaney in his kitchen but then sees the pet his daughter picked out at the pet store. Jared is talking to Delaney about their weekend when his daughter comes and tells him she has a surprise for him. Jared asks Delaney to go to the aquarium with them after they have breakfast. Delaney enjoys herself with Jared and Hannah and can't help to think what it would have been like to grow up with a father. When they arrive home after having pizza they decide to watch a movie. When Hannah falls asleep Jared puts her to bed and tells Delaney to stay and they'll finish the movie. Jared and Delaney end up kissing one another and he knows he's fallen in love with her. While Jared and Delaney are making out on the couch she gets a message from a client from several years ago. Jared realizes who Delaney really is and asks her to leave. Jared doesn't want Hannah to grow up with someone like Delaney. Delaney heads back to her apartment before she breaks down and cries and calls her best friend. Three days later, both Jared and Delaney are miserable. Jared doesn't know how to contact Delaney since she blocked him. While checking in on Hannah Jared finds a flyer for an open mic and knows that's where Delaney is. Jared heads to the coffee shop to hear Delaney before picking up some flowers for her. After Delaney's performance she heads back to the dressing room, her hands are shaking. Jared finds Delaney and gives her the flowers then apologizes to her. Jared tells Delaney that he's in love with her and wants to make her his. Jared explains to Delaney it wasn't her it was him he's afraid to fall in love. Delaney asks Jared if he wants to come to her apartment. When they get to Delaney's apartment Jared pleasures her then they make love. A while later, Jared rushes home within Delaney messages him that she's in labor. Jared and Delaney are married.

Operation Goldfish Resurrection

Wrong Number, Right Single Dad by Kate Tilney is part of the multi-author Wrong Number, Right Guy series. I loved this story about a no names fling that turns into something surprising when one text goes to the wrong number, and it is him that sent it. Delaney is a young woman who has graduated college and now working at a call center to pay the bills. She used to have a different job which paid well but she did not want to do it for long. Jared is a firefighter who is also a single father to six year old Hannah, who who has a penchant for wanting to adopt every animal she meets. Delaney and Jared first meet on a sort of hook-up site and decide to sporadically meet to work off some sexual energy together. The rules are simple, no names, no emotions, no kissing, and each getting their happy. The arrangement is working until one wrong text sends it all into a tailspin of epic proportion. It was a text that had promise for what was supposed to come, but things take a turn when two big eyes on one pint-sized girl stare back at Delaney. It seems Jared's two worlds are going to collide and he cannot do anything about it, as it was him to sent the text to what was supposed to be the babysitter he really needs and instead mistakenly invited Delaney into his house and his world. Delaney may not be dressed for the part but she offers to watch Hannah and that kicks off the potential of a new life for all of them. Will what was wrong turn into something so, so, so right? Will they survive what happens next or will it all be blown apart?
I really loved this book. The story was well written, funny, sweet, sizzling, sexy, romantic, heartwarming and a lot more. Delaney and Jared are both wonderful characters and Hannah steals every scene she is in. These are characters you would want to be friends with IRL.

Jared is with a curvy brunette in his truck in a parking garage. They have been sending flirty and filthy messages to each other on an app. She suggested that they meet up. They have no small talk, no real names and no personal information. It is a casual situation. They also have no kissing, just touching each other until they both come. She suggests giving him her phone number to they can reach each other outside the app if they want to hook up again. She puts her phone number in Jared’s phone as “Baby”.

Delaney has Jared in her phone as “Daddy”. She has had plenty of sexy pen pals, but none have stirred her desire like him. They have met up in parking garages for their previous, casual encounters. Now, she gets a text asking her to meet him at a house. She freaks out and calls her best friend Katie. Katie tells her to charge her phone, text Katie her location and go have fun. Delaney is surprised when she arrives at the address and “Daddy” looks confused. She opens her trench coat to show him that all she has on is lacy lingerie. Then, a little girl with brown pigtails appears next to him.

Jared pulls her into his house and pulls her coat closed. Jared meant to text the babysitting agency he uses. His usual nanny called in sick and Jared is supposed to leave for a weekend work retreat. He is a firefighter. Luckily, Delaney used to be a nanny in college. After references and a last-minute criminal background check, Jared agrees to let Delaney babysit his daughter, Hannah, for the weekend.

What a miscommunication. I was hoping their casual fling would become more after the babysitting weekend.

Wrong Number, Right Single Dad by Kate Tilley starts with a premise we’ve all seen versions of—a hookup with “no strings, no feelings.” But this one? This one hits different. Because when Delaney shows up for what she thinks will be a one-time, no-emotion encounter, it’s not Jared who answers the door—it’s his daughter. And in that one unexpected, disarming moment, everything shifts.

Delaney is relatable in the most refreshing way. She's not perfect, she's not looking for forever, and she certainly didn’t plan on becoming part of a bedtime-routine-and-sticky-fingers kind of life. But that’s exactly what makes watching her fall for Jared—and for his little girl—so beautiful. It’s messy and chaotic and real.

And Jared… Jared is everything. A devoted single dad who’s just trying to keep it all together, he’s vulnerable in a way that doesn’t feel forced. You feel his hesitation, his protectiveness, his quiet yearning for connection—but it’s Delaney who shows him that love doesn’t have to be picture-perfect to be real.

What starts as casual turns into something tender and true. It’s the small things—early mornings, giggles from the next room, accidental confessions—that build a love neither of them saw coming. And as a reader, you feel every step of that journey.

This story made me laugh, tear up, and believe (all over again) that sometimes the best things in life show up when you’re not even looking.

"Wrong Number, Right Single Dad" by Kate Tilney is a steamy, feel-good romance that begins with a hilarious mistake and grows into something much deeper. Delaney and Jared agree to a no-strings, no-feelings arrangement... until one text changes everything. When Delaney shows up at his door expecting a hook-up, she’s greeted by his adorable daughter instead—talk about a surprise!

What starts as casual quickly turns into something more meaningful as Delaney finds herself drawn into Jared’s world of bedtime stories and single-dad chaos. The chemistry between them is sizzling, but what really stands out is the heartwarming journey from lust to love, complete with challenges from Delaney’s past that add just enough drama.

This is a quick, spicy read with great character dynamics, a lovable kid, and plenty of emotional payoff. A strong start to a promising series—I’m looking forward to the next one!

Wrong Number, Right Single Dad by Kate Tilney is a Firefighter, spicy short read that features Delaney and Jared, a single dad. Their spicy relationship began without promises. However, due to Jared’s work and some miscommunications, Delaney begins to nanny for Jared’s daughter, Hannah. As their relationship continues to grow and expand, they develop feelings for each other but face conflict in making their relationship work. As their relationship evolves and grows so does their story. This author did a good job of bringing in Life, love, and having the characters to want more and be more. This firefighter, short read had well written characters with a journey of drama, spice, emotions & growth. Wrong Number, Right Single Dad is part of the Wrong Number, Right Guy series.

Delaney has a no strings occasional thing with Jared, and due to some mix up she arrives at his house for a good time but then ends up babysitting his daughter Hannah. The chemistry between them is explosive, but the more time they spend together, the more they fit so well. But Jared needs to protect his daughter, will he let Delaney into her life?

The characters were so likeable, Delaney was funny and sassy, and I loved how she and Hannah occasionally pushed Jared's buttons. I loved the epilogue and extended bonus scene. The author is completely new to me and I picked up this book because it's part of a multi-author series. From the first page/chapter I was hooked! I loved the short and very funny story. I will definitely be reading more from the author now!.

It was meant to be no names, no feelings and no strings attached. When Delaney receives a message to come to a location, she isn’t sure why because of their agreement. When she shows up at his door, a little girl is looking at her. Jared is surprised to see her. He thought he had called the babysitter. He needs someone to stay with Hannah and Delaney volunteers. What was suppose to be a casual thing, could a family be something Delaney wants? But when a secret from her past threatens what could be, can they work it out and build a life or do they go their own way? Could they have a HEA? The chemistry between the characters were spicy. Love this new series and can’t wait to read the next one.

I’m loving this multi author series. Jared is a single dad who is lonely and signs up for an app for a hook up. He meets Baby and she calls him Daddy. But as fate would have it Baby aka Delaney gets a text from Daddy aka Jared and shows up at his house. This may be a wrong number gone bad but Jared’s in a pinch. Delaney volunteers to help Jared by watching his daughter for the weekend while he is on firefighting training. As they start to get to know each other love isn’t far behind. I loved this story, so well written, steamy and hot, great characters and it’s just a fantastic story.

MMC/FMC- Jared and Delaney
Genre- Contemporary Romance

What I liked- The premise of the story was clever. A man accidentally texts his anonymous app hookup instead of his daughter’s babysitter.
What I didn’t- the story was pretty basic. And I didn’t like it when he s-ut shamed her, then denied it. Not cool.

Jared is a single dad/firefighter who signs up for a no strings attached hookup app and accidentally calls it for a babysitter. Delaney shows up at Jared's house, wondering why she's there and not at their usual hookup place. Things take an interesting weekend nanny for his daughter turn. This is a steamy, single dad, fun novella with well developed characters who had me cheering them on to get their happily ever after. Wrong Number, Right Single Dad is a fabulous addition to the multi-author Wrong Number, Right Guy series. I can't wait to read the rest of the books. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

I enjoyed reading Wrong Number, Right Single Dad, by Katie Tilney. Jared and Delaney were only supposed to help each other relieve sexual frustration, but one wrong number changed all of that. When Delaney showed up at his door in a trench coat and lingerie, Jared was shocked. I would have loved to see both of their faces when his young daughter came to the door and questioned Delaney's attire.

An exciting, fun, charming hookup to true romance story. Jared and Delaney met on an app but only hooked up in parking garages under the names of daddy and baby. So when Jared went to call the babysitting service, he did not look close enough and called baby asking her to come instead. I greatly enjoyed this wonderfully written story.

Wrong numbers and miscommunication will have Delaney and Jared reconnecting for different reasons in this delightful story. They met previously as a hookup on an app but when he calls for a babysitter, he calls the wrong number and lands his hookup who comes expecting something entirely different. Will his miscall lead him to a new relationship he never saw coming.

Lots of Love and Laughter!

I laughed quite a bit reading this story. Delaney and Jared met on an online site for lonely people. They’d seen each other a few times when she received a text from Jared and showed up at his house. Well due to the text going to the wrong person Delaney was the babysitter for Hannah while Jared had a weekend retreat with his fellow firefighters and… 😊😊😊😊😊💜💜💜💜💜🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I need you...

He texted the wrong number, but the end result is far better than Jared ever hoped for. Delaney is a gift he never expected and is terrified of keeping. Both Jared and Delaney are lovely characters who are easy to like, they have baggage and this makes it difficult for them to trust their hearts.
A steamy, yet sweet addition to the series which I read on Kindle Unlimited.

I absolutely loved the connection between the main characters! The little girl was just too adorable for words. It was so clear that the female lead was perfect for them, and I really wished her dad would see it sooner—though I guess it took him a bit to figure it out. The epilogue was my favorite part!.
