An 8x8 storybook based on the deep-sea adventures of the Octonauts! As they travel through deep, dark waters, the Octonauts find themselves in a battle with a colossal squid! The squid is determined to win against the Octopod—can the crew keep hold of their ship in this tough round of tentacle wrestling?
This is a solid adventure story, based on the Octonauts tv show. Like with other books based on tv episodes, they're trying to fit a bit too much in a book this length.
Also - having now experienced the Octonauts books from BEFORE they became the tv show, this series pales in comparison.
Our copy from the library had a few pages re-attached in the incorrect order, which also hindered our enjoyment of the book during the first read-through.
Again, it loses some of the details in translation from the tv show, but it is still a fun read and should pique the interest of young oceanographers to learn more about colossal and giant squids!

My Review: As I said with the last Octonauts book that I read, Munchkin loves the show so I thought to expand on that with books. Unfortunately the books are taken directly from episodes, from the images to the storyline and even the conversations. It is a little disappointing to just be basically re-reading an episode Munchkin recently saw on TV.
This is a great storybook version of the Octonauts TV series episode where they encounter the Colossal Squid. Filled with the beautiful illustrations, the actual scientific facts and the wonders and fun for preschoolers and upwards. This is a great storybook.
This is the first octonaut book that me and my daughter bought. She is two years old and loves the octonauts. The story is a good length. She likes to have emphasis put on the "octonauts to the hq' page.
