Sky Battle 1914-1918: The Story of Aviation in World War I

Rate this book
Here is the story of the development of the airplane as a weapon of war as told by a leading aviation writer. This authentic and highly readable account tells how military airplanes grew from spindly, ludicrous contraptions of wood and muslin into deadly machines which changed the strategy of combat.

This book gave an overall picture of the progression of military aviation through the First World War. The story telling could have been a little more efficient, but I still think it did a good job of detailing the use and effectiveness of the airplane in battle from its infancy all the way to the Armistice in 1918.
