Again, this volume continues on a slightly more serious line. While there are still some great comedic moments, especially when Aladdin starts acting like an adorable little boy, the intricacy of the plot deepens.

We get to find out more what is going on with Morgiana, her history, and personality. I must say, I have come to really like her character a lot. She and Aladding cross paths and begin to travel together. So the story begins to pull itself back together.

We also get to meet Sinbad. Sinbad seems nice but I don't trust him. In ways, he seems too nice. Shifty. Not saying he is a bad guy but there is more to him than he shares I think.

A few other popular named characters join the fray but I will leave those as a surprise for the readers. What I will say is the party travels to Balbadd where there is a lot going on and non of it good!

I can't help but cheer Aladdin on. I want him to discover his destiny. To find Alibaba again... And I think they go together (destiny and Alibaba that is). Aladdin is still girl crazy and likes to inappropriately snuggle to them (and he knows what he is doing!) and his child-like side come out more in this one. The story is obviously heading toward bigger things...

**I was given the opportunity to read a digital copy of this manga in exchange for a fair and honest review.**

SINBAAAAAAD! Or as I like to call him: Shinbato. He's the entire reason I love Magi so much, this guy is full of charisma. I can't explain why, you have to read.
Anyway, this volume is much better than previous volume. It marked the reunion of the MCs but also, the introduction of new characters.
So, a lot of things happen here. First, we get to see Sinbad naked, and it's always a pleasure. But, we also finally are in Balbad. I love Balbad because this is such a messed-up country with a terrible economy where a revolution is about to happen. It's always interesting to see how rulers ruined their country so much that the people feel the need to rebel and Balbad's king really... suck?
Besides, this is the "retelling that doesn't retell much" of Alibaba's tale: Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. Look at the names: Cassim, Morgiana, etc, you get it. It's heavily inspired of this tale anyway.

With him and his retainers on the cover, Sinbad makes his first appearance in the series! He is such a cool character, everything I remember of him from the anime is strong, cool and charismatic. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in the coming volumes. Not only that but Alibaba and Aladdin reunite but not in very favourable conditions. I know whats to come and im a little sad already but I'm curious if and how the manga differs from the anime.

Continues the theme of 1001 Arabian Nights.

World: The art is solid, I like the style. The world building is also good, there are bits and pieces of the world that we see and it’s filling in the corners and the world. The magic system is still kinda a mystery but that’s what Shonen books are, they plus loose with their logic when it comes to that stuff. The character based building of the world also is wonderful.

Story: This book feels like 1001 Arabian nights, we’ve had 3 books and it feels like 4 stories interconnected but also at the same time a bit different and I’m digging it. The third character tale is of course Morgiana and we get that for about half of the book. Story is well done and emotionally heavy handed but good. The result is me loving this character and wanting to know more about her journey. The next story is in Balbadd and though I knew in my brain that this was going to happen I forgot about it and the 40 thieves thing with Ali Baba surprised me (my fault). I love the change of the status quo and the unexpected and this book has done well with that so far. It still a bit janky here and there with the story and the logic and the pacing but overall it’s a fun tale.

Characters: Morgiana has a very cliched slave tale but it does not make it any less emotionally resonating. Her journey is well done and I hope that she has more control of her destiny in the books to come instead of being led around by the two lads. Ali Baba is interesting and I look forward to see where the story goes with him. The new pieces with Sinbad are interesting and the social dynamics of the city is a bit simple but it give Sin and the rest of the cast of characters area for drama and growth and I liked that.

Another solid third arc.

Onward to the next book!

I am rooting for Alladin and Mor so much and hope that Alladin will finally find his destiny.

And as for Sinbad. Liking him.

As for the plot, I think something big is about to happen so I feel like it will deepen.

SIIIIIIIIIIIIN

3.5 stars.

One thing I keep forgetting about the story is how much political intrigue is in the story and how hard it gets sometimes. That's why I end up reading this volumes quite slowly, compared to other mangas. It was painful to see how much turmoil is in Balbadd and the reunion between Alibaba and Aladdin..... ouch. Also remembering bits and pieces of Alibaba's history with Cassim.... double ouch. I was happy to see Sinbad again and I'm curious to learn more about him as well.

Also, Morgiana continues to be the best girl and I want nothing but good things for her. I also love that she doesn't take any shit.

Morgiana has met up with Aladdin while on their travels, so the duo decide to join up and head to the next kingdom together - only to run into a strange man who claims to be Sinbad! Ohtaka will keep readers howling with laughter and intrigued by the mysteries of this entry. Just who is this smiling, confident stranger?

This was really good! I loved seeing Morgiana grow and start moving beyond her past. Seeing her encourage the little girl was so sweet, and her fight was awesome! Sinbad's introduction was...interesting, to say the least. I'm looking forward to learning more about him, but I'm also curious about Alibaba. Looks like things have finally picked up for me, I'm interested to see what's next!

Some pretty unexpected stuff in this one. I enjoyed the Sinbad character a lot, and ‘that’ other reveal left a bad taste in the mouth (though I guess that means it was effective). Definitely interested to read the next volume.
