The Paranormal Investigative Task Force has given Detective Jason Schlatt the Class-A ranking for his supernatural anomaly skills. He doesn’t just fight the fiends that blend in, he can trace their energy and see exactly where they’re hiding. In a world filled with hidden dangers, the hunters become the hunted.
Armed with an old revolver forged from a meteorite, Detective Schlatt and the alluring Special Agent Natalia Hunnigan team up with a succubus to take down Demons from Ars Goetia. Combined, they're incredibly powerful, but so are the threats that seem to never stop.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was fun and engaging. The story and characters were incredibly interesting and entertaining. I'm curious to see what happens next. This book is definitely worth checking out.
An absolutely crazy ride through the occult!!!! I could absolutely not put this story down!!! Awesome world building, crazy cool characters and first rate storytelling!!!
So I finally decided to DNF this one. I've read about 10 pages in the last three weeks or so. The writing was mediocre, the characters uninteresting, and the pacing was problematic. 30% in, the story takes place in the space of maybe 4 hours, and in that time the characters go from being ready to shoot each other to being soul mates. There are multiple murders and paranormal instances that would be headline news anywhere in the world, but the town around them just continues on as if everything is totally normal. And its not New York City, its some small town with like 50,000 people. There would be panic, mass exodus, etc... after just one of the supernatural murders, let alone four or five incidents. The characters getting on lovey dovey with each other in the middle of what would be, in any sane place, a catastrophic series of events, also tends to kill any urgency or tension. And then they reveal the man is also married, to a succubus of course, and the woman, who is introduced as being by the book, skeptical, and jaded, takes to this information as if he just told her he has a beagle at home. So yeah, I tried with this book, but it just wasn't for me.
