Knottily Ever After

Rate this book
I'm an Omega who had it all. A penthouse suite in the big city, a budding career as an author, and a rock on my finger the size of Texas, courtesy of my stoic, successful Alpha fiancé.

Then everything changes the day my latest book release hits the bestseller list, and I rush to my betrothed's office to celebrate the news, only to find he's been boinking his assistant behind my back.

Time for Violet Marshall to strike out on her own! And the quaint, small town of Crescent Lake, far away from my old life, is just the place to do that.

I'm in a bind when I arrive to find my new apartment flooded. That is, until the sizzling hot Alpha bar owner, Vaughn, offers me the spare room upstairs, and I accept.

But Hottie didn't tell me that he lives there, too. With two other gorgeous Alphas who make my mouth water. Quinn, whose muscles have muscles and owns the fitness center, and Ben, the tattoo artist four years my junior.

Our arrangement is supposed to be temporary, but the more time passes, the more I'm drawn to them. All of them. And the more they show me how real Alphas worship their Omegas, the less I want to leave.

I don't know what it's like to have love and support in my life, but I do know that a girl can get used to this.

Maybe Crescent Lake isn't as temporary as I thought it would be…

Written well

Classic sweet omegaverse book. It's written well. I definitely at 83%, but thats due to the fact that I just didn't want to read about the omega anymore. Her ex France comes around and explains that he's actually gay and cheated on her with his scent match assistant... so she forgives him after his explanation, says she's still his friend and ends up fixing his relationship with his assistant..... umm, no. Like this guy led you on for 20 years. It's not like it was a situation where he didn't know he was gay or its illegal. His family just wanted a traditional alpha, so he lied to his bestie and led her on, treating her like a crap girlfriend. Cheating is cheating, means you lack respect for your partner. But to lie to your best friend and stop her from actually finding a real relationship for your own selfish reasons? That really is unforgivable. So I lost respect for the omega who just went yep, all good were friends again because you look pathetic..... but maybe thats because im a Scorpio and were pretty af.

Low-Angst, Cozy, and Exactly What It Promises

This was a sweet, cozy Omegaverse romance that delivered exactly what the description promised: small-town charm, low-to-no angst, and a pack of Alphas who know how to treat their Omega right.

Violet’s “fresh start after heartbreak” storyline worked really well here. I liked how her move to Crescent Lake felt like more than just a change of scenery — it was a chance for her to rebuild her life, find real support, and discover love on her own terms. Vaughn, Quinn, and Ben each added something different to the relationship dynamic, and together they gave off strong found-family vibes that made the story extra heartwarming.

If you’re looking for a cozy Omegaverse with warmth, spice, and very little drama, this is exactly the kind of book that hits the spot.

5/5 ⭐️

I got so much to say, but now I find myself a bit speechless after the last chapter 🥵
This was cute , cozy, had a bit of drama, but overall a good read. In my opinion I do think Vi forgave Steve too quickly, best friend or not. In the closet or not, what he did wasn't okay. But besides that and the world building was definitely different from other omegaverses I've read. Here, the gov mandates suppressants, and not everyone is aware of scent matches or pack dynamics, which was refreshing. I enjoyed Vi's story and her guys. There were plenty of spicy scenes that leave you Googling positions and wondering how the hell they managed some of them, it had me giggling like a loon and kicking my feet like a high school girl on the phone with her crush at 2am. I can't wait to read more books in this series.

The smartest part of this book is on the cover, where the author exchanged the ‘O’ in her name for the Greek symbol ‘omega.’ I should’ve stopped reading after that.

There’s just something hollow, fleeting, and cheesy about the writing, like reaching for a puffy, flavor blasted goldfish, and finding it’s only the top half of one.
(Just happened.)
(Still sad about it.)

The guys mainly describe their initial reactions to her with the perspective of their apparently sentient dicks, the things peeking up in their pants and writhing around in her presence like puppies that just heard the jingle of car keys.

It also apparently inspires endless similes of the reader, something to be wary of for sure.

All the reviews I saw were upset she forgave her ex so easily, but that issue is barely even on the radar in this story.
She only ever thinks about him in the framing of her disillusionment of what they were, so (not a spoiler because I’m writing this near the beginning) she’s long over him by the end, as she should be.

I would’ve been over him the moment I saw him drilling for oil inside his male secretary with more passion than I’d ever been given from him.

I almost DNF’d pretty often.
It’s just so fluffy.
Not necessarily filler, but just nothing of true substance. Very Hallmark-y, but the painful kind, where you’re sure the production must be some kind of hazing humiliation ritual in exchange for the actors inevitably pledging their favorite cult.

There’s a lot of writing ‘no-no’s,’ like detailing every minutiae of movement as simple as taking a drink or eating.
We’re aware there’s chewing involved with taking a bite. I promise you don’t have to explain.
We know you have to ‘…pick a [drink] up off a coaster and bring it to your lips’ in order to sip it.
(Actual quote)
We know!!
It’s a waste of words and both of our time.

Plus, it just makes it even more ironic that the main character is an author.

The first spice is quite literally out of nowhere.

You can have endless cute, cohabitating, domestic scenes, but where’s the chemistry that we need, culminating to the physical reprieve?

It’s a good scene, don’t get me wrong, but I had to mentally manufacture more development than we were given in order to even be rooting for them.

Her reaction after was just flitted over like most of the days are.

One time, a guy is telling her about his dead parents, on the verge on tears, and she’s pretty much like, “I’m literally hemorrhaging slick right now.”
Girl!! Decorum!! Locate it!!

The ‘I love you’s’ were a bit too quick and unjustified.

There’s no plot, not really.

I’m not going to even get into how dangerous it is to enter where the sun don’t shine without prep, warning, or consent of any kind.

Also, if someone thought there was nothing wrong with interrupting my writing flow in order to just say ‘Hi’
???
I’d only be grateful for the opportunity to obtain hands-on experience for my murder scenes.

We need to eradicate ‘folds.’
Seriously.
Nothing good has been done by implementing that description, and this book is no exception.

I knew I’d have to skim the inevitable heat portion and I only wish that I had. They never really talked about the process of bonding, but like everything else, they took it all at once without preparation anyway.

The rest of the spice was unreadable.

I skimmed to the end until I was released from feeling obligated to finish, the frown on my face so pronounced that I feared it would be stuck that way.

I love a sweet omegaverse, and this one checked all of my boxes… until the fmc’s ex fiancé came stumbling back 7/8 through the story with the most obvious and lamest excuse for stringing her along for decades.

Not for a year, not for a few years- literal decades.

She forgives him almost instantly, and while I understand that, maybe she would eventually forgive him, there is no way that somebody should be able to waltz in, cry internalized homophobia, and be granted forgiveness and embraced.

What I did love: the idea that omegas living in highly populated areas take suppressants and perhaps never know that they have scent matches. I loved her pack, her bff, the other minor characters, save her ex.

ok to meh

Began this book thinking that it started good and halfway through, I was like wait … no it’s not. You can’t throw a Daddy k*nk in at 72%, it’s jarring and completely out of left field. Vaughn wasn’t doing anything up until that point to give us an inkling of what was to come.

The Steve and Sam plot, was hastily thrown in.

If the guys’ parents live in town, why did she not meet them until the wedding?

There was so much thought and world building at the beginning and then suddenly we were just saying things that didn’t matter. Why do the whole thing about the suppressants if it wasn’t gonna mean anything? Why not explain more in depth how the money aspect works? They were concerned about money but also never discussed it or explained how they had it? How could Steve help? What was his job? What lead to him being fired? What about his family?

So many things became our problems and there was no solution.

Overall, it was fine. It probably could do with some edits in terms of wrong words and also the disconnect between the beginning and ending of the book. It had promise and then it fell flat.

Intersting Take on OV, Needs an editor

I enjoyed all the members of this pack. Everyone had distinct, easily identifiable personalities, and it made it easy to keep track of who was who, and allowed them all to build solid relationships with the FMC. The males were highly emotional, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I was put off by the number of times each of them cried. The alphas criend more than the omega did.

I also struggled with the spicey chapters. The FMC had very little experience in the bedroom, and they way her body took everything was hard to believe, even in a made up world. I knew she's a romance author, but thinking about things and actually doing them are very different. Her second time with someone who is not her ex and he is "holding her arms behind her like reins, using her like a rag doll". Not long after (litteral days), she is being triple knotted between her legs. It was a stretch (pun) of the imagination for sure. Vaughn's bedroom personality also came out of nowhere, and I don't feel like it fit the rest of the book or his personality. I LOVE a daddy k!nk, but this one didn't fit.

The main reason this book got a three star rating is because of the editor. There were a ton of mistakes, primarily in the grammer. Turns of phrase were often wrong. Tense would suddenly change for a sentence or two before being corrected. Several sentences were missing conjunctions, leading to strings of half sentences that weren't technically wrong but made the entire thing clunky. There were several occasions where I found myself having to rearead a strange run on sentence because of simple missing words (like "and" or "the") that would have highly increased readiblity.

This was an interesting take on OV, and I'd be interested to read more about this world, thought I think the way it's explained would lend itself better to a darker-verse. Alphas and Omegas in cities are forced to take suppresants from prepubesciency to keep them from following their natural instincts. The world is mostly chose monogomos matches, until you get anywhere outside of cities, and then no one uses suppresants and packs are common, though not legally acknowledged. This has also lead to omegas basically being betas, with no heats, nesting, or slick, or scent senstivity.

Format: 🎧 Audiobook 🎧 (ALC)
Performed by: Denver Adams, Lance West, Logan Anare and Ri Page
Style: duet multicast
Production: Peitho Press/Elysian Nightfall Studios

This was such a cute listen - despite the reasoning Violet moves to the small town of Crescent Lake, this book has cozy and low angst written all over it. It's full of sweet and spicy, of discoveries and of relationship building, and I love the twist on the OV world that Vespo gave omegas living in big cities.

Violet and her Alphas - bartender/brewery owner Vaughn, gym owner Quinn, and tattoo artist Ben - are all written so wonderfully, and I loved getting to know them all as the story progressed. All three Alpha's are all distinctly individual, but work beautifully as a pack, and I loved listening as they taught Violet what it means to be part of a pack - something that's not always common in Vespo's OV world.

The narration is what kept me listening, often with smiles and giggles. The casting of this one was great, with Page bringing the sweetness and the vulnerability that was needed to Violet. Adams as Vaughn was amazing, bringing his protective nature to life (as well as that particular spicy k!nk *coughcough*). West brought character and emotion to Quinn, embodying his cocky attitude but mellowing when it was needed. Anare brought Ben's softer side out perfectly, nailing the emotional moments, but also flicking that switch to protective and possessive Alpha perfectly. All four actors were great with their performances.

Keen to continue reading more in the Crescent Lake universe after this one!

Thank you to the author and @chaoticcreativeservices for the ALC opportunity. These are my honest thoughts that I have provided voluntarily.

On what should have been one of the best days of her life, when she hit the bestseller list, Violet walked in on her fiancé having sex with his assistant. Deciding a fresh start was in order, she rented a cute apartment in the small town of Crescent Lake, but when she got there, she found it flooded and uninhabitable. She stopped in the local bar for a drink before facing the long drive back to LA, and after spilling her story to the sexy Alpha bar owner, Vaughn, he offered her a spare room above the bar. The room turns out to be in a beautiful apartment where Vaughn and his equally sexy packmates live. Quinn owns the local fitness center, and Ben is a tattoo artist. Violet doesn't understand her attraction to the three, but they know exactly what's going on and are determined to keep her. And as days pass, Violet realizes she isn't too eager to leave either.

This was a cute, easy read. I enjoy a sweet omegaverse, and it was what I needed between heavier reading. This one started out strong but lost momentum along the way. Still, I enjoyed it until her ex showed up. I wasn't a fan of that particular storyline. I'm all for forgiveness, but a betrayal that big needs some groveling and a measure of atonement before best friend status is restored. No matter the reason, cheating is cheating. I very much liked that city omegas were in the dark about their own body and the impact laws and meds had on them for the convenience of men and business. I think there's more story here. 3.75 stars

Wild Flower

A very steamy Omegaverse RH.

The story begins in a heartbreaking way, but it quickly gives us a sense of the spectacular and somewhat innocent personality of our FMC.
As she was speaking, I immediately thought, “Oh, beautiful, you’re missing all the red flags,” and sadly, I was right.

She may be caught off guard by a twist of fate, but it doesn’t bring her down. Quite the opposite. It allows her strength to shine through as she looks toward the future, to new beginnings.

A setback—and her big heart—puts her on the radar of three gorgeous Alphas. They all have different personalities, but their strong bond of friendship quickly brings them together as a pack.

As the connection between the FMC and the MMCs intensifies, so does the steam.
Be careful when reading or listening in public—this is one of those stories that leaves you smiling and feeling a little embarrassed.

This story explores strong and meaningful themes: giving love a second chance, creating deep bonds and connections, acceptance, discovering what truly makes us happy, and fighting for it, and following our instincts.

The title of the book perfectly reflects how the story ends—in a sweet and happy way.

Audiobook:
The audiobook is narrated in duet with multiple POVs. Each character has their own narrator, which, for me, is the best way to do it.
The narrators did a fantastic job and truly embodied the characters.
We're talking about characters in their 30s, and the narrators' voices fit perfectly.

5/5✨🌟

** SPOILER **

So, if you know me, I’m a huge fan of an omegaverse book and when it’s a sweet omegaverse style, sign me up. This book has been on my tbr list for a while and when I saw it was coming out on audio, I had to grab it and I was not disappointed. I loved Denver, Lance, Logan and Ri in the narration because they sucked me into this lovely world.

We meet Violet in the beginning where she immediately catches her ex in a certain situation where she ended up leaving town. When she gets into Crescent Lake, she meets Vaughn, who ended being my favorite just due to the fact that he is the one that gave her a place to stay.

These Alphas just want the best for their omega and they show it for how much they want to take care of her when they find out why she left where she came from.

There is so much information in this book and I feel like it was flowing at a really good a space from her meeting her pack, the found family here and just the all around her learning that these three were her Alphas.

I had so many favorite moments in this book that I could go on and on. We do get a little drama, love, and just all the emotions that you get when the alphas get their omega. I also love the little bit of hurt/comfort that we get in this book because it was so worth it when these three get their happily ever after.

I received a copy of this audiobook and this is my honest review.

Knottily Ever After!

This book absolutely blew me away and I couldn’t put it down for anything!

Violet is an omega who writes romance novels for a living. After planning to celebrate a big milestone with her longtime lover, she ends up blindsided by heartbreak instead. Crushed and needing a fresh start, she flees the City of Angels and lands in the charming town of Crescent Lake, only to be met with one challenge after another.

Half-upset and half-homeless on what was supposed to be a six-month hideaway vacation, Violet finds herself at Hops and Scotch, a local bar owned by the incredibly sexy Vaughn. Vaughn offers her a place to stay in the apartment above the bar, where he lives with two other alphas: Quinn, the golden boy who owns the gym, and Ben, the quiet, tattooed mystery with smoldering vibes. All three fall hard and fast.

The spice? Chef’s kiss. 💋
Quinn totally stole my heart and he’s hands down my favorite.
And that twist with Steve? Did not see it coming, but I loved how it played out.

Honestly, I aspire to be more like Violet resilient, bold, and completely unforgettable

Another disappointment.

Had a well-done dramatic start, the female lead was proactive and engaging, the male leads were more urban, less neanderthal, than typically seen in this type of story and there was some interesting commentary on using drugs to suppress natural responses (although it was poorly set-up).

(Please note: it was NOT anti-birth control pill )

Then all that story, character- and relationship-building was dropped for heavy-handed insta-love, a parade of mediocre smut scenes and the female lead's ridiculous and far-fetched handling of the ex.

No, honey, he is not your friend, let alone your best friend. A friend would never purposefully use your romantic feelings to manipulate you into putting your life on hold for fourteen frickin' years to hide his truth from the people in his rarefied world. He is just a weak, pathetic liar and coward using your strength and good-nature to make his life work and you fell for it... again.

Do not recommend.

Knottily Ever After by Raven Vespo is a small-town cozy omegaverse romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Denver Adams, Lance West, Logan Anare and Ri Paige. This is the first book in the Crescent Lake Cozy Omegaverse series and can be read as a standalone.

This is the first book of Raven's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Violet, Vaughn, Quinn, and Ben. I loved getting all of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Knotty, Nice, and Holiday Light to be released on audio so I can get Izzy's story.

Denver, Lance, Logan, and Ri did an amazing job on the narration. They all really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you're looking for an omegaverse romance, why choose romance, small town romance, or forced proximity romance.

Violet.

Violet is on her way to surprise her fiancé when she finds him in a compromising position. So, what does any character do? She leaves town. When she arrives in Crescent Lake she has not idea she's about to meet her pack. In fact, with all the suppressants she's on it surprised me that she held out as long as she did. LOL.

Anyway, Crescent Lake takes in Vi and shows her what it is really like to be an Omega that is loved and cared for. Raven always does an excellent job of making the alphas in the story vastly different yet they all click so perfectly together.

Ben, Quinn and Vaughn show Vi all the love and care that she deserves. I really enjoyed this why choose cozy small town romance. It reminded me of another series that I gobbled up months ago.

If you like small town, cozy vibes, tight knit community, OV with a side of sexy Alphas then this needs to be on your TBR.

Thank you to the author for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

First time reading this author and I am happy I did. The book tells the story of an author and she finds her fiancé in a compromising situation and runs from his office out to a small town. However the apartment she rented is in need of repairs and she can't stay there. A bartender helps out and offers her a place to stay. She decides why not. However there are two other guys there too. They know this woman, is their fated, their omega but she doesn't respond quite like they expect. Then they realise why. Suppressants. She can't scent them like they can scent her. One of the guys tells her this and she doesn't believe him but she does decide to not take the suppressants and a world opens for her. Being out of the city does that to a girl. She also realises what the guys are to her. But her ex shows up. Will he ruin it for her?

This is a quick, cozy omegaverse romance that is very spicy and very predictable.

Violet leaves L.A after her fiancé cheats on her. She moves to a small town where she meets the bar owner and his 2 flat mates. From then on the story revolves around the bed gymnastics that they get up to. I say gymnastics because I really don't know how they get into some of these positions.

I liked Violet at the start of the book but she became a secondary character when all the men got involved and there was no development. Take the sex out of this book and it completely falls flat.

I skimmed for much of the end especially when I could predict the ex was going to enter the scene.

If you're looking for a spicy, quick read with low stakes and multiple men then this might be the book for you but I won't be continuing with the series.

loved it

A sweet woman running away from a cheating ex to a small town and finding the men she is meant to be with. This story is so adorable and Violet having a wildflower smell to her is prefect given her namesake. Each man treats her like the treasure she is and helps her overcome the sorrow and heartache she went through with the man she thought she would marry. The homemade brewery drinks sounded so heavenly to me that I wished someone would make them for real, the tattoo design sounds absolutely stunning. There is a few surprises in the story but nothing over the time just enough to keep things interesting and fun. A wonderful cozy story in a cozy little town somewhere in California where the plants are green and lush.

Okay

This is a cozy smutty little omegaverse romance. This book contains character art at the beginning of each chapter but its the same ones throughout, in my honest opinion if your gonna shell out money for character art switch it up. Just having the same images over and over again get a little tedious. That's just a little nitpick of mine. Their isn't really a big dramatic moment in the book which feels weird like I was expecting a big event that never happened. Dare I say characters act like mature human beings in this one, it feels strange. Honestly this just sits as regular omega verse story to me. I would prefer the boyfriends being boyfriends just to make this a little less straight but that's just my opinion.

This was a super sweet and steamy Omegaverse book. I absolutely loved each of the characters, and the small town vibes of Crescent Lake. This book is the perfect read if you are looking for low angst and steamy!

Violet, the FMC, is an omega on the run after she finds her fiancé cheating on her. She ends up in the small town of Crescent Lake, and everything changes. The characters and the storyline are well done, and I loved the pack dynamic. Vaughn, Quinn and Ben were such great alphas, and I absolutely adored their attempts to win Violet over early on. Their relationship was fun to watch develop.

Absolutely adored this crescent lake cozyverse

The book was well written and the spice is off the charts. For those who aren't familiar with omegaverse, yes male omegas can get pregnant. If youre not familiar with omegaverse or just a hater on mm love then this book is not for you. Don't read and dont leave a review based on that. Leave a review based on the book. No mm in the harem. All the love goes straight to the fmc but there is mention of mm by way of cheating. No third act break up or drama. Very cozy very spicy. Will be reading rhe next installment as im now following the author. To each their own but alyways love is love.

This book wasn't all bad. There were interesting elements having to do with societal norms, suppressants, scent matches, and packs. There were some very sweet and funny relationship moments.

Unfortunately, the parts I didn't like about the book, I REALLY didn't like. The spice was awful in a plethora of ways, but most notably, the cringy dialog and unrealistic physical acts that made me wince into a full body shudder until I could skim to the end of that scene.

I can't say more without spoilers, but the idea that having trauma or pain in your own life in any way excuses or lessens horrific treatment of others, is not the vibe.

Blech.
