Aka the totally lurid tale of the convenience store sex slave!

After a vicious fight with her slut-shaming jerk of a stepbrother, Natalie storms out of the family McMansion, never imagining that would be the last time she’d be allowed in the house. A string of truly rotten decisions follows, until she finds herself suspended from school, friendless, broke, and camping out at the minimart where she works. Worst of all, her college applications are due!

Thanks to a helpful teacher and her own stupendous brilliance she manages to get into her top choice college. Unfortunately, dealing with the financial aid forms proves to be too much for her supersmarts and she is about to lose her spot because she cannot get the money together to pay the deposit.

Enter Gareth Boyd, an old family friend and all-around manipulative bastard, who makes her an offer: sleep with his (totally hot) roommate, Jamie, and he’ll pay for everything.

How hard can it be?

Warning: This story features an eighteen-year-old heroine with a foul mouth and horrible judgment, a criminally unscrupulous man intent on taking advantage of her, and multiple scenes of bondage, spanking, ménage, and one potentially triggering scene of attempted rape. The novel is an erotic fantasy in which characters manipulate or disregard notions of proper consent in ways that would never be acceptable in real life. Adult Readers Only.

Really short official-sounding bio: Lilia Ford lives in New York City with her husband and two sons.

Life on Goodreads:
I'm very active on Goodreads, mostly as a reader. I taught 18th and 19th century literature and GREAT BOOKS for many years, but these days, I read almost exclusively in the various permutations of fantasy, M/M, Sci-Fi, and erotica. There are really only two types of books for me: those I like enough to finish, and those I don't. If I like it enough to finish, I will usually give it at least four stars (I don't rate books I don't finish). The ratings are primarily a measure of how much I enjoyed a book--and only secondarily a measure of how much I admired it. I read and adore a lot of trashy books, and can't seem to finish many worthier (more literary, impressive, critically acclaimed) titles. I am slowly adding reviews of books that stand out for me. Unless the book is very popular and my views won't make a difference, I avoid trashing stuff since I now appreciate how hard it is to publish a novel.

Friending: Though I am overjoyed when people discover my books on Goodreads or want to talk to me about them, I am primarily here to find titles to satisfy my book-a-day reading habit. I generally opt to follow people whose reviews I like, not wanting to come off as a pushy author. However, I am psyched to be friends with people whose reading taste aligns with mine.

Final Note: I have a large and always growing number of titles on my "Kindle Lendable" shelf." Just send a personal message if you want to borrow something.

Unlike anything I've read before.

I've not been able to get this book out of my head all day. It's not perfect; it lulls at times and Natalie cries a lot. A whole lot. But somehow she managed to not annoy me and that sort of crying/sobbing business usually gets on my last good nerve. That's not why I can't stop thinking about it, though. The consent issue is what made this book so spellbinding.

Natalie is living at the mini-mart where she works after self-destructing. Gareth buys her lunch regularly and makes her a proposition she "can't" refuse. Does she want to refuse it? No. Not particularly. And yes. All the time. She's already halfway in love with Gareth by the time he makes his indecent proposal to become the sex slave of his roommate, Jaime. Jaime is a couple tacos shy of a combination platter but is hotter than a bushel of jalepeños. So, y'know, it's not exactly a chore and it comes with the added bonus of living with Gareth who is high up in the New York mafia, not to be trifled with and can dominate her like no other.

College Bound is told entirely through Natalie and Ford does an excellent job of maintaining her 18/19 yr old voice. Natalie is a hoot! She rattles off pop culture references, has a penchant for some of the great bands of the 80s and a weakness for junk food. She's also a reluctant sub. Read: she enjoys being taken, forced and dominated. Even if she berates herself for it. Being inside her head throughout this story was in equal measure hilarious and heart wrenching. She makes it a page turner by taking us on her ride into teen sex slave and she, along with us, tries to figure out what Gareth's motivations are as well as WTH's wrong with Jaime and what's going on between them?

The answers are hard won and so fulfilling. Seriously, I feel like reading it again right now.

So I wrote this so no rating. I did create some "multi-media" extras because I'm slick and corporate that way. First I did up my usual Pinterest Board of images from the story: dream casting, props, settings, clothes--including my favorites, some vintage concert tees.

As an experiment, I also put together a spotify playlist of songs the music-loving heroine plays or mentions in the story, mostly 80s stuff from the Cure and New Order, as well as some Creedence and Tito Puente. (Also Caribou by the Pixies, which is a little too cool for me, but made it on there thanks to a character who is quite a bit cooler than me.) The playlist title is "Bizarre Love Triangle," which about sums up this book. You can find that on my website here: http://www.liliafordromance.com/#!mus...

Three curious factoids about this book:
1. I started it in November 2009.
2. It spent most of its existence with the title "Convenience Store Sex Slave: A Memoir."
3. It's not a memoir--100% fictional.

I worded the "content warning" pretty strongly. I would not characterize this as 'dark erotica' at all, but it does have some intense scenes. Please be warned: the heroine swears a lot. If you have any questions here about the content warnings or anything else please feel free to use this comment thread.

So that's all for now. Thanks. :)

*The reason why I have not rate this book is because, honestly, I don't know what to think about it. And this is not so much of a review. I'd consider it a discussion, so I reserve the right to change it in the future.*

As the blurb says this book is about how Natalie, a 18 years old high school student, became a sex slave. Natalie messed around and was tagged as the "school slut", her parents have died and her guardian, her stepbrother, after her behavior decided to not longer have her in the house and threw her in the streets. After living nowhere and having just counted people helping her she applied and got accepted to Brown. The thing is she doesn't have money to pay for it. That's when Gareth, an old family friend, gets in the picture and offers her a deal: he would pay her a absolutely great amount of money if she accepts and sign the contract to become his sex slave. As you can guess, she signed the contract and, well, shit happens.

I have to say that this is the first book I read by Lilia Ford and her writing style (at least in this book) was so weird. Not in a bad way but it felt like if one of your friends were telling you the story. I kinda liked it.

The reason why I picked up this book was because I thought it was going to be funnier. Sue me but I do judge a book by its cover and I didn't expect this one to be that dark and twisted.
And I don't know how or where to start.

You can tell me if I'm wrong (really, tell me) but I thought that one of the principles of the BDSM is to pleasure. As a "master", "dom" or whatever it's called you have to earn your sub's respect and all of that. In my mind I thought I was sure of it, like we're seeking both dom and sub's pleasures but that was not what I found here.

I don't know how, an 18 years old girl, a homeless girl, a girl who has no one in this world and who's more than desperate can make a good sub. But then, it was all about the money, wasn't it? It was never told he was going after her pleasure, he just bought a dog, if you ask me. And Natalie well knew that.
description

I really hated Gareth. He was an abuser. He took this girl and gave her no choice. And yeah, I know what you're thinking "she's an 18 years old girl, she knows what's right and wrong" and normaly I'd agree, but then you don't have a sick bastard, a manipulator, like Gareth, telling you he knows what's best for you and taking decisions about your life that you just have to accept. Honestly, I couldn't even bring myself to be mad a Natalie, you just have to read it. Really. I mean, I tried to put myself in her shoes but I just would've opted for going to a comunity college instead of getting myself in that twisted mess, but then she had a crush on him since she was little. Ha, like that makes it all good.

Man, I felt uncomfortable most all the time and I was close to put it down a couple of times. The first chapters were almost too much for me, and even though I finished it in one sitting, I felt like I was reading it forever.

description

I really don't know if I liked the book or not. I didn't love it, that's for sure but the more I was reading, the more I was thinking "well, I didn't see that coming" so Ford may be a fucking genius or I will never read one of her books again. I'm still deciding.

I didn't like any of the characters, not even Jamie. If I continued reading the book was because of Daniel. He made it bearable and was the only one who showed any sort of decency, if that kind of thing was possible there. And I absolutely hated the fact that Natelie was in love with Gareth. We could see, when everything was coming to an end, that she hated him a lot. She hated him for everything he did to her, to Jamie and clearly called him a manipulator. A sick bastard but yep, she loved him. And Jamie.

I wasn't turned on by the sex scenes and, honestly, I had a hard time. I just had hard a time reading the whole thing. Period.

description

One thing that bothered me (ha) was Natalie's stepbrother. Now that I think about it, his rules and all that shit were kind of like Gareth's so that made me think: Did he know about Gareth's business? Was he part of it? It's not like I actually cared for him but I found it odd.

For me it just a matter of time until Natalie becomes everyone's slave. She's basically married to fucked up nympho and also to her abuser and yeah, even though now she's got some sort of power, she doesn't have anything else. In her mind, that's all. And yes, she enjoyed her time with Jamie and Gareth, but then, everything was also fucked up.

So, in conclussion: I have no idea what to think other that this book fucked me up and that's it.

Uhm, I'm not sure how this book ended up on my TBR list (?) but I browsed through it recently (There are many new books out, Like Tyrant and Grind and Cocky Bastard, but they somehow don't seem that appealing for some reason at the moment) and found this gem. This. Gem! Goddammit.

I will say it again - I have no idea how people rate books on Goodreads. The rating of this book is quite low. This book was full of flawed, weird, interesting characters, half the time I was trying to keep up with their insane decisions and poor judgement. But it really worked for me. And it was fresh and was a mix of totally unrelated genres, like New Adult and Erotia and BDSM.

I'm speechless, but in a good way.

Damn.

Ummm...mor to come when I finish digesting this one. BUT, my gut instinct is a new title...I really enjoyed this totally unique story (plot is novel! So huge for the author...) but, part of me wanted a different title more in line with the story I got...Her Trainer? Deceptive Surrender? Two Weeks?

Just to start: my gut instinct is a new title...I really enjoyed this totally unique story (plot is novel! So huge kudos to the author...) but, part of me wanted a different title more in line with the story I got...Her Trainer? Deceptive Surrender? Two Weeks?

Okay, biggest beef aside, this is fairly hardcore (not much Sugar) book. The warning from the publisher is there for a reason. But, despite how hardcore the "situations" were, there was a definite lack of connection between Natalie and the things happening to her. She really only connected to Gareth, which I thought was an awesome part of the story, but she doesn't seem to connect to much else. I wondered if that was part of the plot until later when this became obvious...yes, infact her attachment to Garath was what kept her in the situation that she remained. The submissive holds all the power and time and again, Natalie may have been made aware of that or actively accepted that fact, but never once asked to leave, asked for it to stop or asked for Garath to participate. She simple did as she was told, fighting it the whole time, but not asking for it to stop. This may be a trigger for people, so be warned.

Jamie was a complete and utter ass at several points in the book. He wanted her, but it was not revealed as to why. Gareth, also seemed to want her, but not in any way that seemed obvious or even normal. Needless to say, as their "relationship" develops, I was left hanging a bit. I really did not understand what role Daniel was playing and/or why he was there. And personally, I never did learn that even to the end of the book. His role seemed to be as Jamie's disciplinarian, a role Gareth did not enjoy. These four were messed up at times, stumbling through their establishment of a melange and then boom...Done...Over...And the reader learns this whole monsterous, cathartic and epic journey of Natalie's was only 2 Weeks!!!

Not to be spoilery, but there is a happy ever after...but it is not your conventional or even kink-filled HEA. Did I enjoy this book? Yes. Would I let my mom know I read it? No. Should you read it? I will leave it in your hands. Enjoy.

I honestly don't know how to rate this book... I guess it was too weird and a little bit all over the place in order to have a clear opinion about its rating but it was a page turner so i can't say that i hated it! And i know that i didn't love it... Now, did i like it? Yeah, that i don't know...

And that cover? I don't like it at all... It seems a bit tacky.

So, the story is about Natalie an 18 year old good girl who turns bad after the loss of her father and stepmother. Her stepbrother isn't exactly supportive and Natalie, after some bad decisions, finds herself homeless and without money. That's when Gareth gets into the picture...

Gareth is a 'family friend'. He approaches Natalie after he finds out that she was accepted to Brown with a proposal that she can't refuse. The proposal is to be his friend's, Jamie, 'sex slave' and in return he will cover all her college expenses. So far so good...

Gareth spends days trying to 'reform' Natalie. The no cussing factor was a challenging one... Then she finally meets Jamie. Jamie was a mess! But they were good together and the sex was hot!

and then this happened...

yeah, i did't see that coming... So, if you're not into M/M and M/M/F action this is not for you.

As a story it was decent enough... The writing was a bit weird. There was a severe lack of dialogue in a lot of chapters which annoyed the hell out of me, but as i said before it was a page turner so that has to count for something!

P.S. A lot of reviews say that this was a dark read... It was not! Believe me, i've had my share of dark novels and this one was extremely tamed compared to them.

"I received this book for free to read and review for Wicked Reads"

WOW! nearly 24 hours after finishing this and I'm still thinking about it almost constantly - that alone makes it a book worthy of a WOW!!

It should not have been a book that I enjoyed so much; it is harsh and dark and twisted, yet somehow it is loving and caring and surprising. There were a few moments where it was impossible not to laugh out loud, and they relieved the tension exquisitely. If I didn't have a huge TBR, I would be immediately rereading it - I shall before the week is out, I have no doubt. It is crazy, wild, and in so many ways wrong, but it is a fabulous story, well written and totally captivating.

Go, get a copy, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. And Ms Ford, I beg of you ... please consider taking this further - I read that it took a long time to come to press, but I have fallen hopelessly for all the characters and would love more!

I really enjoyed College Bound - perfect escapism with a good combination of interesting storyline and erotica. The characters were interesting and well developed (if all slightly depraved but that's the point!) and I will definitely read more of Lilia's work.

Okay. So. To be honest, I don’t really know what I just read:

A romance? No, I didn’t feel any lovey-dovey vibes.

An erotica? Uhhh, maybe? But the sex scenes weren’t explicit. In all actuality, they were kind of glossed over (for the most part). And, to be honest, I was always uncomfortable reading any of the sex scenes.

The only word that can sum this book up is ‘confused’—because I was, with the main characters, with the plot…with pretty much everything.

Written in Natile’s POV, there is a lot of her monologue, and not so much dialogue. The book is written like Natile’s telling her life story to a friend. I didn’t know if I cared for that or not.

And at first, the story is slow-going. Natile introduces herself, tells us that her parents died, and that her guardian (her stepbrother) kicked her out of the house because she was labeled as the school slut.

Then she introduces Gareth, whom is rich, but only invites her over for a meager sandwich every once in a while. Right off the bat, Gareth gave me bad vibes; I didn’t like him one bit. And during this time, Natile tells us she’s homeless (living in a gas-station) but hopes to be accepted into college—Brown, specifically.

Only, Natile doesn’t have the money to go to Brown…so that’s when Gareth (the stingy sandwich guy) offers her a deal: in exchange for him paying for her college tuition, Natile will sign a contract relinquishing control of her entire life into Gareths hands…and into his roommate, Jamie’s, bed. (Or rather, tied up on the living room floor.)

This is where shizzz started to confuse me, because even though Natile has a problem with every single part of the contract, she signs the thing anyway—effectively agreeing to be Grareth’s slave, and Jamie’s sex slave.

But then, after the contract is in effect, Natile decides she doesn’t want to be controlled (even though she just willingly signed over her life without hesitation) so she proceeds to fight Gareth over and over and over again—all the while not really doing anything to help herself, or to stop the abuse she supposedly doesn’t want.

Uh, seriously?

Personally, I didn’t find this book romantic, hot, sexy, or erotic in any way. It kind of left a bad taste in my mouth.

And all the characters were sooooo confusing:

Natile didn’t want to be controlled, but she didn’t want to leave. Natile didn’t want to have sex with Jamie, but she didn’t want to stop. Jamie supposedly didn’t care about Natile (besides having sex with her), but in the next paragraph Jamie’s suddenly very kind and thoughtful. Gareth promised to look after Natile always, but he’s gone for a huge chunk of the book while Natile is being fucked up elsewhere. Natile is getting paid to have sex with Jamie, and yet when Jamie offers to buy her clothes, she wigs out because she doesn’t want to be bought like a whore. Natile doesn’t like Jamie sometimes, but she might love him. Natile loves Gareth, although he scares her. Natile wants to have sex with Daniel, but she’s relieved he didn’t want her like that…

…You get my drift; and the cluster-fuck paragraph above is only the tip of the freggin’ contradictions and hypocrisy in College Bound.

The entire book—ever character, every one of their thoughts and actions—just did not make a lick of sense, and it didn’t help that I didn’t really like any of them.

Gareth—just no. He was a sick, twisted abuser. I didn’t like him at all. There was nothing appealing about his character. He preyed on Natile and manipulate her and her entire life for his disgusting benefit. He didn’t love her! He used and abused her, and it made me angry to read any scene with him in it. I absolutely hated the fact that Natile supposedly loved Gareth, when it was clear by her actions and inner thoughts, she hated him…and well, I hated him, too.

Jamie—he was just messed up. Better than Gareth, but still...I didn’t believe he really, truly cared for Natile either. He liked that he took sex from her, and that was pretty much it.

Daniel—he was actually my favorite. A little mean, a little too rude, but still, not as fucked up in the head as Jamie and Gareth. Daniel was pretty much the only character in this book I semi-liked; he was a decent guy, and I respected his decisons regarding Natile. He tried to give her a semblance of a normal life, or at the very least treated her like a human (unlike Gareth and Jamie, who treated her like a toy they could play with—emotionally and physically).

And Natile—I just…don’t even know. An entire book written in her first-person POV and I still don’t understand her. Her thoughts were a rollercoaster ride I kinda wanted to get off of. She was put in a bad position, but she didn’t even try to get herself out of it. She just let all these people manipulate her, use her, and abuse her.

The book’s underlying plot was just…I still can’t tell you what it was, it was that confusing and just weird. Something about Jamie having a lot of money and going off the deep-end, then Gareth controlling ‘saving’ the day, then something to do with mob bosses or criminals or some crap? I don’t even know…

I do have to say though, something about this weird book kept me reading—even though I had a hard time reading it. Go figure. Maybe it as because there was some interesting plot twists that (still didn’t make sense but) surprised me anyway.

In the end, I really didn’t know what the heck to think about this book. I didn’t particularly like it, but I didn’t completely dislike it either. I guess that's why I didn't give it a rating, because I wouldn't know what in the world to rate it.

The more I think about it, I know what this book was about. It wasn’t a romance. It wasn’t an erotica. It wasn't anything more than a book about a girls decent into a lifetime of manipulation, manhandling, and psychical/metal/emotional abuse... and that's just sad.

*I was given an ARC of this book from NetGalley. But I do solemnly swear that I am up to... good on Goodreads. ;) This is a fair and honest review of this book. Pinky promise.*

This book was not what I expected at all! The arrangement between Natalie and Gereth is twisted from the beginning. He offers her full college tuition in exchange for complete control over her life, including her sexual activities. Initially it sounds like this is a BDSM contract, however than Natalie learns this arrangement involves more than Gereth. In exchange for tuition costs, Natalie will be engaging in sexual activity with an individual named James. It is not explained in the contract who James is, but Natalie is expected to engage in sexual activity with him and allow Gereth and Daniel to touch her however they please.

The first few days is focused between Gareth and Natalie. Gareth struggles to control Natalie's behavior, she curses and engages in problematic behaviors. He uses non traditional control techniques to discourage the behaviors including gagging her and chaining her to a wall.

A review copy was provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

Eventually James is introduced, she is bound and gagged while engaging in sexual activity with him but has given consent for sexual activity. James appears to be an overall nice guy in the beginning; he isn't rough with her and doesn't tease her. He insures she is satisfied sexually with each encounter.

Gareth is eventually called away on business, leaving Natalie in James' complete control which is something James is very difficult for him. He doesn't like being in control, preferring to only engage in sexual activity with Natalie even struggling to hold a conversation with her without Gereth.

James takes Natalie out where she once again reverts to her old ways and ends up in trouble. Daniel, another man in the agreement and part of Gareth's security team, comes to their rescue. Gareth returns on and off, punishing Natalie when necessary but ultimately leaving James and Daniel to take care of her.

Gareth forces Natalie and James together in a more permanent manner which is surprising from the beginning. But this is where the surprises just don't stop. From this point on, the author pulls out all stops in shocking the reader. Nothing from this point on is expected. The reader finally learns the connection between James and Gareth and the role that Daniel will eventually play. Honestly by the end of the book I found myself wanting more!

Natalie is an 18-year-old high school senior who lives and works at the mini-mart after being kicked out of her home by her evil stepbrother. She’s propositioned by Gareth to basically become a sex toy for his roommate in exchange for covering her college tuition expenses. The story only gets more complicated from there.

As far as ménage goes, this book was pretty hot. I get tired of the same old storyline with brothers rescuing the damsel in distress and then gang banging her. While this story had the damsel, she could definitely carry her own. The sex scenes in College Bound were sizzling hot, including some steamy bi MMF action. The story line was quite different than the erotica I’ve read recently.

The book is narrated by a foul-mouthed, rebellious 18-year-old girl, Natalie, and it reads as though her unfiltered thoughts go straight to the page. At first I found this a bit annoying, but once I got use to it, I actually kind of enjoyed the way it read.

Overall, I was rather surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Three and a half stars for College Bound.

Firstly, The novel for too lengthy. I would have enjoyed reading it, but for the time it consumed. I had a handful of complaints.
Why does erotica have to match Christian Grey romance. The author states the work was done on the novel years back, but then with the fifty shades phenomenon all over the place, this certainly seems repetitive. Another complaint was the protagonist Natalie. The character confused me to my core. I wanted to sympathise with her at one point, but then for most part she was the one I blamed, and then hated her for landing herself in the mess that she was in. Of course, she accepts that she couldn't have been dumber, but then, after a while her dumbness became exasperating. for me the beginning made sense, the reason why i continued reading it. But then it got too twisted and too illogical for me to process. I did not like the book so much.

(I received a digital copy through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review thanks to the author and publisher.)

Alright, so first of all, I'd like to say that there were some parts I enjoyed reading in this book but others I didn't like. I found the idea original and it made me curious.

However, I feel like the heroine could be immature sometimes when she was always insulting the men. I also feel like she was always held down, tied up and gagged for 80% of the book with the guys being angry at her for no obvious reason or almost none... I just wanted them to calm down a little. It got a bit old at the end. I would have liked getting to know more the characters instead of being introduced to them like that. I also found the story was a little all over the place especially toward the end. It had potential but the book could be confusing sometimes.

I really liked this one. It's entirely not what you'd expect. It's hard to find really good erotica with a similarly good plot line. Not only was this a good plot line, but this was an intensely fucked up, "I CANNOT STOP READING THIS BOOK" plot line. I really hope the author continues the story, because it felt like it could lead well into other books. I think I just want to know more about these characters, past and future. I do want to say that I hate the cover, hate it. It's too good of a book to have such a cheesy cover.

I can't get down with manipulative men disguised as romantic heroes. I just can't. If you're in your thirties, and are basically giving an eighteen year-old homeless chick NO OTHER CHOICE but to come live with you and be what amounts to a sex slave, well, that's not sexy. THAT'S CALLED RAPE. It's manipulation. It's disgusting and WHY women find it sexy is just...beyond me. I do not get it. I will never get it.

College Bound is not what I expect in a good and bad way. Natalie is an 18 year old high school senior with a promising future ahead of her. However she doesn’t have the money thanks to being cut off because of her reputation as the ‘ school slut’. Her step-brother was just waiting for the final straw do so since he is her guardian and her parents are dead. On the streets and struggling to survive finishing high school. She has no clue how she going to pay her Brown tuition fees . Until she get an interesting offer from a family friend.

Gareth has heard her situation and is known for his unsavoury deals. He got a dozy offer for her , he will pay her an outrageous amount of money if she accepts and signs the contract to become his sex slave for a number of months. Desperate she agree and you think that she only going to service Gareth and be on her way. Gareth is bad alpha male and he WANTS Natalie but he doesn’t want to her know. So he decides on this crazy plan and plays a game with her and a few others.

Well here where it gets a bit kooky and not the fun light tale expected, I was expecting this be a NA book . Well instead gets all BDSM like, twisted and dark as Gareth takes to overhauling her and using her basically. He doesn’t fit the DOM profile at all. He want to manipulate her so they she becomes the person he expects. He believes the rumours which is far from the truth and uses them as part of his motivation as he thinks she is the same as Jamie. Natalie has been caught in web of lies as she isn’t the person the school made out her to be and despite her bad habits, she just a girl down on her luck. However the others don’t see her that way especially Jamie who basically uses her with Gareth blessing.

Now who is Jamie you are probably thinking. Well he another piece to the puzzle, as it seems Natalie is a sex slave for him not Gareth. Jamie also seems to be under Gareth ‘s thumb and uses Natalie for his pleasure and is reckless with her the to point you have to wonder who is worse. The only person who doesn’t go to extremes is Daniel . The only male figure in this novel who there in a supervisory dom/ friend role but for ages it is not clear and you have to wonder..

It all over the place as Gareth controls the game. It not clear from the start this isn’t MF romance only .There is MM, MMF also as Gareth reveals his full plan to Natalie and she becomes involved with different people in his plan. I didn’t know what to make it towards the end, it was a bit choppy with the story as she didn’t know who Gareth was going to choice. And then throw in that fact she forced to marry of them for some reason. I was lost.

If this was reworked a bit and made Gareth was purely dom and upfront I would have enjoyed this more. Jamie should have been introuduced differently as well. That why I’m giving it 3 stars and that being generous as I liked Natalie and she was the only savouring grace in this novel.

*I received a copy of this novel from NetGalley for an honest review.*

I was pretty uncertain about reading this book, but since Netgalley sent it to me (and I have to admit that I needed to read something spicy), I decided to give it a try.

Thank God I did it. I’m not a big fan of Erotica books, they are usually boring, tacky, silly and always about sex, sex, the romance is rushed and there’s never a real story behind it.

This book is my guilty pleasure, so what? Sue me. I loved this book and I won’t go back on my word.

At first I wasn’t very keen… the main character, Natalie is an idiotic, rude teenage girl, I didn’t like her. Even now I’m not sure I like… actually I hated all the characters on this book. But damn guys, this book is so utterly good, it pulls you in, compels you into reading it until the last damn page.

Natalie is an 18-year-old girl who get’s thrown out of her house by her bastard of a step-brother because someone published on the internet a video of her making out with two guys (this was the first thing I didn’t like about her.). It’s not that I don’t agree with women being with two guys, I mean, come on! These days guys have three-ways with two girls and no one bats an eye, so why can’t women do the same if they want to? The thing I didn’t agree with, was Natalie doing it in public. Even if she was with only a guy or girl I still think it’s gross to go at it in public, privacy is good, go for it, do it in private.

Anyway, after that, Natalie practically becomes homeless, until an a friend f hers, Gareth makes her a very “interesting” proposition. He wants her to become a love slave, not only to him, but also to Jamie, another really “interesting” dude, in exchange he will pay her college fees (Brown University).

The thing about this book is that all characters are fucked up in their own way. Even now I don’t know what is the thing about this book, only that I loved it and I want to forget it so I can read it again.

I must tell you that this book’s sex scenes are all disturbing if you’re used to reading stuff of love and flowers (me!!!), I’m used to more vanilla situations, where I can picture myself being the main character surrounded by love and sunshine. *hahaha-hardy-har-har*

Even if I couldn’t relate to Natalie or her situation, let’s called it situation cause it’s seems nicer, I was still able to read this book without wanting to shut down my computer and scream bloody murder.

Another thing I loved about College Bound was the writer. Lilia Ford writes wonderfully, not to mention that she is hilarious!!!

description

I couldn’t hold back my laughter in certain parts of the book, which scared my brother, because it’s almost 3 am and the house is super quiet. Have I mentioned that my laughter is kind of creepy? No? Okay, now you know it.

Guys, read this book if you’re into spicy romances. That’s all I can tell you.

This was my first book by Lilia Ford.

This story is about a teenage girl named Natalie, an only child who should have been experiencing the best years of her adolescent life, fun and carefree, attending to her ballet dance classes and recitals, socializing with friends, all while receiving the love, support and guidance from her parents.
But that wasn’t in the cards for Natalie, no she first had to deal with the death of her mother when she was seven years old. Then a few years later her father remarries and tragedy strikes again, both father and stepmother die in a car accident. Natalie is left in the custody of her older step-brother whom she has no real relationship with, dependent on him for her financial needs and guardianship. Natalie is lost, confused and angry, foul-mouthed and short-tempered and sexually adventurous.

A party that goes all wrong results in a school suspension for Natalie despite her very good grades and an ultimatum to attend a boarding school for troubled teens from her stepbrother Stephen. She rejects Stephen’s terms and soon finds her suitcase on the front porch steps with a note from Stephen that he no longer is obligated to support her now that she was eighteen.

Homeless and without a penny to her name, Natalie knows her rebellious actions and the decisions she has made so far have caused her this holy mess she’s in and at a loss as her next steps. A sign “Abandon Me” seems to be flashing above her head as everyone one she knows, including her so-called friends want nothing to do with her in fear of being equally branded trouble.

While trying to continue high school, Natalie finds a job and her English teacher who never gave up on her and believes in her, helps her apply to colleges/universities and even pays the application fees but despite receiving acceptance she has no money to pay the educational fees.

Then blows in Gareth Boyd whom is nine years older then Natalie and someone she’s known throughout her life but also known to be involved in the shady lines of business and someone she had a bit of a crush on. He’s been uncharacteristically running into Natalie around town, continuously asking her out to lunch and he’s very dominant. He waves the proverbial carrot offering Natalie an all expenses paid university education, a chance to start over and move on from all of her past decisions that caused her turmoil, all in exchange for her complete submission giving total control of herself over to Gareth but there were additional conditions and another man was part of it.

Well this was definitely a book that was difficult to put down. Its cover certainly does not portray the story inside. It’s a real mix of erotic, BDSM, ménage + 1 – A bit of dark read. This book will certainly make your pulse increase!

****An advance reading copy of College Bound by Lilia Ford was provided to me from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Wow does this erotic novel give erotic a new meaning! I’ve read many scandalous and even fucked up novels, but this one takes the cake. From BDSM to ménage trio this novel hits it all and taps into even more. It exposes what three people all need to stay happy and together.
Natalie’s story is quite odd and even sad. Starting out wealthy and brought up as a typical teenager everything goes downhill before she’s even 18. Life leads her to living in a gas station where she works; eating whatever food she can take from there and not having any family or close friends for that matter. Although there is one friend she’s known for years, Gareth who comes into her life every now and then. He’s very dominate and reserved at all times, but Natalie enjoys his lunch dates he takes her on. No one else cares enough to see if she’s even alive. Gareth proposes a very odd deal with Natalie, one she can’t turn down. He will pay for you to go to Brown University if she will sign a contract that he own hers and controls her. Also, part of the deal she will have sex with his roommate Jaime.
As stunned and confused as Natalie is about this proposition she feels she must take it, as she has no other choices. Gareth immediately takes her home to his mansion and begins to change her life. He sees her submissive side and knows he can bring it out of her, yet she is left in the dark as to his plans. For days they follow the same routine, Gareth gives her strict rules on when she wakes up, morning rituals, what she eats, and even what she is to wear. Natalie lashes out, screaming, and throwing fits about these rules. For punishment Gareth binds her hands and puts her in a corner for hour on end. She becomes very used to the binds and being in the corner. It becomes the daily routine.
Then enters Jamie, who is nothing like Gareth, but who follows his orders just like Natalie is supposed to do. She’s never seen anything like this and she has a million questions, but is not allowed to ask any. All she knows is she will do almost anything to have her entire college tuition paid. Other the next few days Natalie starts enjoying the four to five fuck sessions her and Jamie have while Gareth watches. He never joins, but always knows what’s happening and looks pleased with the scene. Natalie has never been made to cum so hard or so often in her life. She never knew she could love sex while bound and gagged. She starts to love her daily duties as Jamie’s play thing.
From there many more enticing events come into play and even change lives, but I can’t give away any secrets. This is a must read for anyone who loves BDSM and ménage trio! You might be as confused as Natalie in the beginning, but just follow the contract and you’ll love the end.

This was a really good book. It is an erotic romance but there is a good story that goes with it. Natalie's life is going downhill and fast. Her mother died of cancer and then her father and stepmother died in a car crash. Her father put all his money in his wife's name so when they passed away her stepbrother inherited it all and left nothing for Natalie. He is her guardian and she's living with him in the McMansion. She's dating a jock at school and they go to a party where they start drinking and she blacks out and has made out with more than just her boyfriend. Everyone at school calls her a slut and she is treated like a pariah. Her stepbrother threatens to kick her out if she doesn't keep embarrassing her or sending her to a boarding school. So she's kicked out of her house and ends up working and living at the convenience store. She applied to Brown University and got in but there is no way she can pay for it. That's when Gareth comes into the picture. He's a family friend who keeps buying her sandwiches. He then comes up with an indecent proposal to her.

Natalie has a foul mouth and acts without thinking mostly to her own peril. She feels lost and doesn't know how she's going to survive things and get out of her situation. That's when Gareth comes into the picture and pretty much offers to help her out but with very severe strings. She doesn't really have many options and it puts her in a precarious situation. But she's strong, smart, and capable of handling many things.

Gareth thinks many steps ahead of everyone else. He's brilliant, controlling, and he gets what he wants. He is ruthless and won't let anyone stand in the way of what he wants. He still does what he thinks are the right things to do for those he cares about.

Jamie is gorgeous, rich, and really messed up. His parents dying caused him to fall off the deep end by drinking and doing drugs. He was out of control until Gareth came into the picture. He still has moments but he's doing better.

Definitely worth reading.

A week later I’m still not entirely sure what I’ve read. I can tell you the writing was good and the plot was compelling enough to keep me turning pages but I don’t know how I feel about the things that actually happened in the book.

The book is presented in the style of a memoir. Natalie is looking back at her past and telling us about it. Natalie is a high school senior who signs her freedom to pay for college. I’m not on board with the idea that someone can voluntarily become a slave. There are three main male characters in the book: Gareth, Jamie, and Daniel. I only liked one of them. Gareth is a manipulative asshole. I’m also weirded out by the idea that he has watched this girl grow up, he was considered a friend of the family, and instead of just helping her when she fell on hard times he sells her into sexual slavery. To help her because she can’t make smart choices on her own? Jamie is caught in Gareth’s bullshit to the point where he seemed like a puppy more than a person. He also “needs” Gareth controlling him because he can’t make smart choices. Daniel seemed to be the only one with sense and a proper understanding of consent. I have no idea how he fits into the arrangement. The whole thing seems very unhealthy to me. But as friend of mine has pointed out, I don’t trust Alpha males. I would chop the balls off of a man that tried to control me like that.

The end of the book didn’t really jive with me. I don’t understand this book.

Wow.
This was such a hard book for me to read. I was uncomfortable 90% of the time. I was also turned on the same 90% of time...
I had issues with the age of the heroine, with the premise, with the treatment, with....hell - everything!
Yet I could not stop reading. I had to know what would happen next. I had to know more about Gareth and Jamie and still want to know more about Daniel.
I read this story in one sitting - I barely moved a muscle (except to squirm in extreme discomfort at the arousal I was feeling).
I even ended up liking the first person it was written in. It's the kind of story that simply wouldn't work with any distancing or even the slightest hint of separation from the viceral happenings.
I am reluctantly and totally in awe.
Because I love this book - yet it pushes so many of my instant rejection buttons.
How is this possible? Is Lilia Ford really such an amazing author? Are her charecters really so utterly compelling?
Must be. Because I am not even the slightest bit into D/s and am violently opposed to choice being taken away through force or manipulation. Nor do I got off on dominance as the heroine did. And did I mention I had issues with the young age of the heroine? 18 to be thrown into such deep waters...
The conflict between what is 'right' and actually acknowledging one's needs - no matter how strange, kinky or seemingly unhealthy they might be - is the essence of this story. And it is explored masterfully and with great sensitivity.
I f****g loved this book. It's sheer brilliance.

I do dislike the title and the cover - which made me scroll past it several times before I gave it a go in the end.

1.5 stars if I'm being generous.

This book just wasn't for me. The narrative voice annoyed the hell out of me. She came across as homophobic (yet got off watching said 'gay' stuff) and is constantly calling herself a slut because everyone else does since she had a threesome with two football dudes (which wasn't a threesome it was kissing and some slight petting....). She definitely comes across childish and insensitive in the things she says or thinks and she's just the type of person I cannot stand.

Many times I wanted to DNF but I will admit o wanted to know what the hell was going to happen. Now this is marked as m-m romance here on GR and that's not correct, but there WAS a surprise MMF theme which actually shocked me and I didn't like it. Don't get me wrong, I actually love MMF books, but I think because there wasn't any lead up or any type of explanation and then her freaking out about the gayness it really ruined me ever enjoying it.

I understand it's all about the Dom/sub relationships with her and also Jamie but because it was narrated in her thoughts, kinda like she was yapping at me and wouldn't shut up, it came across slightly disturbing a lot of the time and while it does show a realistic personality I just don't like people who are like Natalie at all.

Because it's all about that, any romance or love for the males in this story was lost to me and I also thought it had super dramatic weird things that happened throughout the plot. Sexuality, dominating, mafia shit all in one story, and I think the fact she never grew as a person by the end also ruined it for me.

College Bound is a crazy hot book. This is the first book I've read by Lilia Ford and I can just say that I'm a new fan of here's.

I am not big on spoilers so this is just an over view of the book and what I thought about it.

College Bound is a book full of hot sex, many twists and unexpected turns. This story is about 4 main people. Natalie, Jamie, Gareth and Daniel and how they are all connected is what keeps you guessing and turning the page.

Each one of these characters keeps you guessing the role they play in this crazy story. This story is about a girl name Natalie who after some awful events in her life has here homeless at 18 working and living at a mini-mart. She is approached by a family friend, Gareth, and they enter into this agreement. If she agrees and followers thru she will have her full tuition paid for college. What Natalie didn't realize that once she agreed her life was never going to be the same.

Throughout book the different characters Jaime and Daniel appear and just when you think you have everything figured out. Just when you think you know where this story line is going ...BAM...the author throws another twist into story and it keeps you guessing.

This book is filled with craziness, hot sex, hot alpha males and laughter. It has a little bit of everything in it. This is a must read. I look forward to reading more from this author. I hope that if there is another book to this series it would be about Daniel as he is one hot alpha male.

I was given a copy of this book thru NetGalley in turn for an honest review.

I don't know what to say about this book. I liked it but I'm still on the fence about it too.

Natalie, who is the school slut making out with her boyfriend and of his friends. That decision has ruined her life. Her parents died and her stepbrother Stephen became her legal guardian. He gives her an ultimatum to clean up her act or send her to boarding school. She's 18 and well at that we don't think straight she leaves. She did what she wanted and kept going downtime wrong path. She ended homeless, broke, and had no idea of how to be a responsible adult at 18.

She get a job and still attends school., Mr. Murphy, her teacher asked her why she wasn't applying to colleges, since she was one of his best students. When the acceptance letter comes in. She starts to get stressed because of her financial situation and not to mention she barely eats as it is.

A family friend Gareth comes in and helps her out. He offers to pay for college all for years all costs included. She doesn't have any options so she agrees. The only catch is that she needs to submit for him surrender herself completely.

This is one of those books that made want to no read it anymore, but then still kept reading. Lilia Ford your writing is incredible!

I finished this book yesterday, and I'm still trying to get my thoughts together on it. Kudos to the author for making me think so hard about a book! Before reading the book, make sure to read the content warning, if it sounds like something you are against, then just don't read it! It has some sensitive subject matter, and some parts were difficult to read. The book follows Natalie, the strong willed heroine with a very foul mouth. Her life hasn't been easy, and it's about to get harder. She comes across an old family friend who makes her proposal so she can go to her dream school.
The premise of the College Bound is interesting, and the storytelling makes it an intriguing read. It was definitely hot and erotic, and therein lied my problem. Some aspects made me queasy because I couldn't tear my eyes away from it. There was definite bondage and gagging, and the first 1/2 of the book I was concerned where the book was heading. Then I got to the last 1/2 of the novel, and I truly started to enjoy reading it. The character development was coming together nicely, and I loved where the story was going. The ending was fantastic, and I enjoyed reading it.

Confessional style story of an 18 year old recounting the events of 6 months to a year in her life, when everything went so wrong and yet also perversely so right. This is a HOT story. It isn't lacking for extreme scenes of all sorts of naughtiness. The story is seemingly straight forward. Our 18 year old hero, Natalie, has fallen on hard times when her parents die and her remaining stepbrother boots her from the home because of her bad behavior in school. She is at her lowest living in a back room of a mini mart and letting skanky high school boyfriends and their friends do things to her that she shouldn't be allowing.

Enter Gareth, a mysterious, super rich, bad boy (think Grey) but protective type. He has a proposition to help her fulfill dreams of going to college. Her behavior and language are often annoying but I suspect the author portrays her a certain way to show some growth at the end. Connections to a mob family add adventure to the story, and another partner for Natalie, one who is sanctioned by Gareth, turn the heat up on this page turner.

All in all I am glad I read this and would recommend to anyone who reads for extreme steam.

This book was a little more hard-core than I am used to reading, specifically regarding the sex scenes & scenarios surrounding the main character (Natalie)....but it was definitely an interesting read & created great imagery.....the question for you would be IF you personally WANT that imagery. I'm not sure I completely understood the middle part of the storyline regarding the reasoning behind the weird psychological experiment that was happening between Jaime, Natalie, Gareth, & Daniel, mainly due to the lack of explanation surrounding Jaime.....but overall it was a great book full of anticipation & a little bit of adventure & frustration. If your up for a rip-roaring good time and leave your mind open to a few far fetched fantasies, this might just be the book for you. As a warning: This is a very adult book & uses language that might offend some. Additionally, the sex scenes are very graphic & include BSDM, male/male & male/female descriptive scenes.
