This is a thoughtful and thought-provoking book that I'll have to read again. LeClaire brings together prophetic insight from around the world, looks at God-given dreams and examines the history of United States as she looks at the coming days in the light of what has been.
It was an easy read but it's the sort of book needs long slow rumination for its full impact. I therefore may well have to add to this review later.
So recently I had a vision of 7 trees, all in a row in a field....which I believe God is showing me represent the next 7 years. The 6th tree I saw was a giant pine tree, beautiful and healthy stretching to Heaven. The sun shone on it and I could see it dripping with sap and pine cones. Every other tree in my vision was diseased in some form. I believe God showed me each tree represented a year in the future beginning with 2020 and ending with 2026. I also believe the pine tree represents 2025. This was the only healthy tree in my vision. (The first tree/2020 was a giant oak tree half healthy and half dead). In wondering what the pine tree could mean, I stumbled onto the “An Appeal to Heaven” flag and the entire history of this flag. Subsequently this led me to find Jennifer’s book on the same subject. I was very inspired and encouraged that so many people are feeling the same way I’m feeling towards Revival and the next great awakening in America. I was also excited when she referenced many of the same Generals of the Faith that I find myself reading about frequently, including Evan Roberts, Maria Woodworth Etter, Smith Wigglesworth, Billy Graham, Steve Hill, Reinhard Bonnke, etc... My one issue with this book was her clear veneration and almost unhealthy esteem for Dutch Sheets which bordered on excessive. I have read his book on Intercessory prayer which was thought provoking and excellent. However, I am unsure of what he has contributed in the form of prophecy or words of wisdom that would place him in the category of many of these Generals of the Faith. She frequently and almost obsessively quoted him and I do not feel this was warranted in the scope of this book. It distracted from the essence of her message and the call to prayer and repentance necessary to usher in a wave of revival during the end times.
Wonderful book! I couldn't put it down! How lukewarm my relationship with the Lord has become! Thank you Jennifer Leclaire for this timely message! I'm going to buy some copies for my family.
Jennifer has taken the message An Appeal to Heaven, preached by Dutch Sheets and given us a great segue to recognizing that the next great move of God will require a people who are stoked for a revival through prayer. People who are committed to releasing the government of heaven on earth will be encouraged and fired up to be who God is calling in these last days through the powerful words that are shared in this book. I cannot help but think that anyone who wants to see change in America or any other nation could not help but be renewed to pray as a watchman who is set on standing in the gap for the nations.
This is not a difficult read. It may speak of some things that might be difficult to hear, but if faced with honesty, humility, and sincerity, it will breed a repentant heart and a ready heart to do battle in prayer.
