Who doesn’t love a good swap meet? You find tons of great stuff you don’t need, but hey, sometimes someone else’s trash just speaks to you, amiright?
Some things a little louder than others…
As in, some things actually “speak.”
Dominique Acosta should know. One minute she’s just living her life, spending time with her grandpa in his memory care facility, and the next thing, everyone’s questioning her mental health after she starts shouting “THOR!” uncontrollably, without warning—in a drugstore.
All thanks to a talking hammer she spotted at a swap meet.
Which then showed up in her kitchen…
So who do you turn to when you now own a talking hammer and you can’t stop randomly screaming the name of a Norse God everywhere you go? OOPS, of course! And Nina, Wanda and Marty come running.
And hot on their heels?
Harvey Larsen—huge, handsome, and apparently, the hammer’s babysitter. Oh, and he’s also Thor’s son? Yes. That Thor. (More on that particular god’s prolific baby-making abilities later.)
Apparently, Dom’s been chosen to protect Midgard (Earth to mere mortals) and rule Asgard. As it happens, she’s the only person on the planet who can pick the hammer up. Lucky her…
But the hammer’s hot property, and everyone wants to get their paws on it. So Harvey and the girls from OOPS will have to train this reluctant warrior how to wield such a powerful weapon quickly, if she stands any chance of getting out of this alive…
And saving the entire world…

🧡 Did I walk into a Marvel movie with Thor in it? Or maybe I walked out of one . . . either way Cassidy’s newest book is a light, fun & laugh-out-loud paranormal romance with a talking hammer, Norse gods, plenty of action & chaos and even a found family. It is fun, flirty, and perfectly woven with madness. Plus, the added pressure of saving the world. Just a regular day for Dominique - umm . . . not quite.
🥾 Dominique’s life goes off the rails the second she buys a swap-meet hammer that talks—and won’t stop making her yell “THOR!” in public. Cue OOPS - Nina, Marty & Wanda are here - YAY 🎉 - showing up, along with Harvey Larsen: tall, hot, and (surprise!) THOR’S SON. Turns out Dom is the only one who can wield the hammer and might be destined to protect Earth and rule Asgard. No pressure.
🧡 As always, the pacing is quick making this a fast & easy read. The banter is witty, there is nonstop chaos & the stakes rise fast for all involved. Even wielding a magical hammer, Dom is relatable & funny. Harvey is such a gentleman & swoony. And the new found-family in the OOPS crew continues. A definite must read!

Loved the creative license Dakota Cassidy took with Thor and Asgard. The OOPS ladies were in top form in this installment. I also enjoyed seeing characters brought in from past stories. It solidifies the notion of Framily that the OOPS women have created with their altruism. Not sure how they have time for their own families with all the volunteering they do. Would love to see a “week in the life” of these women. Do they ever sleep?
Dominique Acosta is adorable and devoted to her grandfather. She is all things good and protective. Dominique is worthy of wielding Thor’s hammer and so much more. Dominique and Harvey Larsen, Thor’s son, make a cute couple. Harvey has issues with his parental figure and a side of drama.
As with past Accidentals the OOPS ladies rally with all their might and Harvey is swept up in the commotion and preparations. Harvey helps Dominique become the warrior that Asgard needs and in doing so discovers things about himself.
I laughed out loud and enjoyed the story immensely!

The Accidental Viking is the latest adorably hysterical addition to the Accidentals series by Dakota Cassidy. Our newest accidental is a woman of pure heart and a strength of mind that even Nina can’t break. I laughed my tail off throughout (thanks for that). I love, love, loved this installment. I don’t know of any paranormal that they haven’t covered but I look forward to finding out. Check your brain at the door and enjoy.
