Riusciranno a sconfiggerlo?
Space Globalist Arc was the shift that I so desired in the story.
A major plus point is how seamlessly every story arc is bleeding into the next. Narrative is no longer disjointed & partitioned like it initially was. The plot, setting, and characters work together like a well-oiled machine now, creating a more holistic storytelling experience
The only downside is that there are way too many characters in the gang now. I think it's time to split them up lest some get deprived of the much needed spotlight.
Dandadan is peak fiction. AND NOW PEAK FICTION HAS A FUCKING ANIMEEE. But finally caught back up to the manga n whatttt dandadan acc can't stop being the best most randomest story everrr, n the fucking TITLE DROPP
Series: Dandadan Ch. 148-156 Rating: 4 stars - It was really good
Momo and Unji have just defeated the last boss, but they quickly realize that isn’t a good thing. This isn’t an ordinary board game, it's a yokai. So now they have to deal with trying to defeat it but it can easily trap people and turn them against each other. Oakarun is finally back in the picture and helping fight.
This volume also finally gives us Unji Zuma’s backstory and of course it’s so sad. Every new character that seems to be introduced anymore has a very tragic backstory. This series does a really good job at being fun and silly, but also has serious moments that really make the characters relatable and real.
TW: death of a parent and sibling (a child); suicide of a parent; bullying;
Now that's the emotional bullshit I like to be sucker punched with! I long for the day Zuma will be able to join the found family full time, but I guess I have to wait a few more volumes for that to kick in. As with all backstories in this manga, it's tragic but real. I believe that this kind of thing can happen to a person, it's just lucky that there was someone willing to give Zuma the attention he needed. Very meaningful story. The expressions were perfect. Still not the biggest fan of the jumanji thing going on, but as a means of introducing Zuma as a character I can appreciate it more.
Yet another insane emo backstory to a great new character. Maybe it’s a little formulaic but I always look forward to it and none of the flashbacks feel generic/repetitive so don’t fix it if it isn’t broken yk? Pausing here (after volume 19 technically) for however long it takes for the current arc to finish coming out chapter by chapter 😔
This one was definitely one of the best volumes so far. I was already warming up to Zuma and the backstory made me love him even more. It really was the climax of an interesting arc. I want to learn more about him and the police officer. Of course, we'll see what happens with that cursed box yokai and Okarun's newly-found golden ball. Great volume overall.
i'm going to be crying like a literal BABY when this arc gets animated. i don't think i'll be able to take it. unji deserved so much better than what he dealt with, fr. i'm happy the office was able to take him in and fight for him instead of leaving him to fend for himself against the world and the system. what a beautiful story. probs my favourite backstory in dan da dan so far ♡
