Tomo 1.
What the crap did I just read? If this wast so short and easy, I'd have dnfed it. But it reads really quick. My guess is because it LACKED STORY! The intro makes no sense, the pictures are well drawn but aren't helping show me what is going on at all. The characters seemed to change names or just look way too similar. Weird relationships, randomly drawn naked people out of place, other people getting random demon faces... I liked the telepathy some characters could use and I liked the potential for a good space manga but it had zero flow. Utterly disconnected lines and images. So there were two creators and I feel like ake 1 drew, another wrote lines but they didn't speak except for story concept and then a random person came and inserted lines wherever was quickest to shove in a panel! I tried, thinking maybe it would sort of come together in the end but no. So frustrating. Getting rid of the entire series from my shelves. Not even gonna bother attempting the next one.
Everything about this manga seems so early 90s: the semi-noir setting, the innocent, child-like love interest (and her over-the-top-sexy companion), the blank backgrounds, and the unnecessary fan service. The story seems interesting, and the setting is compelling, but the aforementioned fan service is so cringey and almost just plain gross.
LOVELY art, poor story, frankly. I own books 1-5, and... it only makes marginal sense. It doesn't help that Dark Horse stopped publishing it... So if you like pretty art, get it.
