FOR THE FIRST TIME, all four Maid in LA Mysteries available in one volume! Steamed, Dusted, Spruced A Novella, Swept Up
Quincy Mac came to LA as an aspiring actress. She's the divorced mother of three boys, as well as a successful business owner. When Quincy inadvertently cleans a murder scene, she finds love, laughter and a bit of mystery!
Fans of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum will love award winning Holly Jacobs' Quincy Mac and her bestselling mystery series!
Holly Jacobs leads a life full of romance and adventure. From skydiving to jet-setting around Europe, from snorkeling in coral reefs to writing while wearing beautiful silk peignoir sets and popping chocolate bonbons, Holly Jacobs leads a life that is the epitome of romance...
Well, my fictional life sounds more interesting, but not better than my real life. Really, I'm the happily married mother of four. I cook a lot, garden and weave baskets! I write for Montlake Romance and Harlequin. My books range from lighthearted comedies to more serious dramas...but at heart, they're all stories of love.
I don't always set out to write a series of books, but seem to find myself gravitating to them. Because so many people have asked, I've posted lists of all my series in order at www.hollyjacobs.com/bookseries.html. I really try to make each story stand alone, but many of my readers enjoy reading the series in order. Hope this helps!
Thank you to everyone who's picked up a single book, or more of them. I'm so lucky to be surrounded by so much support!
This is a fun series to read. I loved that all of the mysteries were different, and the culprit wasn't always a "bad guy". I also liked that Quincy actually had a real reason to be involved in all of the case. I totally agree with the author's decision to end the series (for now at least), sometimes series can get a little tired and this one didn't, although I think another adventure would be fun. The only complaint I have about this series is how much Quincy went on about going to jail and getting a tattoo, when that was clearly not the case.
I chose 4 stars for this book series because it was cute. It was cozy, and great to curl up with. It was great to read and I would pick it up again on a rainy day.
The book set was worth getting all at once. The stories definitely flow together well. The characters all mesh and work well together. They're very believable.
Quincy is a hilarious heroine, and her family is the family everyone wants to have. I will definitely check out more Holly Jacobs' work
Keeps you guessing throughout the book?, I thought I knew the thief just before Quincy solved it! I like the family relationships too! Holly kept me interested in wanting to keep reading! Will read more of her books, mysteries anyway!
This is such a fantastic series. I love the characters, Quincy is a great character to follow. The storyline and humor is a wonderful addition to these books. Hope there will be More of them!
I loved the series. Quincy proves that a woman can be her own self, still have a family, be an amateur detective and fall in love a second time. I look forward to more adventures of Quincy and Cal.
I really enjoyed reading about Quincy and her mysteries. Anyone who loves comedy with a little romance and mystery thrown in then these 4 books are really a great read
This is fun reading yet a bit trite and not 100% engaging. The set starts better than it ends. The comedy is a bit forced too often. Yet it was enough to finish the set when I was slightly ill so wanted something particularly light.
Loved the series and happily ever after. A great Summer read. A very merry where are they now. Enjoyed it as I was in the mood for a mystery and comedy.
Steamed: Quincy Mac is the black sheep of her family. All of them are doctors, she's a maid who owns part of the business. They live in Pennsylvania, she lives in LA. She's divorced with 3 boys and gets along with her ex and his current wife. Everything is going along just fine when while cleaning up a house, she stumbles onto a dead body. The detective in charge, Cal Parker, has his hands full trying to keep her out of danger as she races to solve the murder and prove she didn't do it.
Dusted: Quincy Mac is back. One of their employees has ripped a piece of art work. This turns up some forgeries among some of their clients. She races to solve the case for the reputation of her business.
Spruced: Quincy Mac is home for Christmas and her mother asks her to solve a problem at the practice involving missing inventory.
Swept Up: Quincy Mac has won an award for her screen play about the first murder. She & Cal are almost engaged, life is good. At the celebration party, she finds a dead body in her son's bedroom. This time, she and Cal investigate together trying to figure out who could have done it.
I think the first book was the best one, the most engaging. The writing is easy to read and funny in places. A nice light read.
These books are light, funny and a marvelous escape from the news of our new dictator in the White House. I must be a whiteboard person because, I figured out who done it when Quincy did.
I found this series extremely entertaining.. Having boys that age it was easy to relate to the mess and rooms that smell like a locker
Room. I always enjoy humor, yes even in murder mystery s. I would also like to see more books in this series. I like Ms . Jacobs style and will look for more of her books in the future.
Cutzy and cozy and simple types of mysteries. No complex plot, no real crazy madman-madwoman murderer, just easy reading mystery. I think these books would be great for starting first-time mystery reader, and/or young adults would enjoy these.
I really enjoyed this book. The story line went very fast. It did not go into a lot of describing unrelated instances, she stuck to the story line. I could picture this happening.
Yep. I read all four in one fell swoop! It was a romp through murder, romance (a little), and ridiculousness (a lot). It was a blast! A happy, light-hearted read.
Cute mystery books Quincy Mac maid stumbles upon a dead body, her mishaps trying to solve mystery and the policeman Cal telling her to step back. He will become her boyfriend. Written in a lighthearted and funny story, enjoy these books for light enjoyable reading
