Seven is a boy in crisis. He's had a revelation and laments to his 'friends' the prevailing cruelty and loss of faith. Meanwhile, a memoir surfaces in which a decadent Hungarian strangles everyone in sight.
Part love story, hate tale, allegory and curio, "Tranquility" reflects on the eternal themes of faith, love, greed, justice and death.
Peter Jakobsen was born in 1963 in Glenelg, South Australia and graduated with honours from Adelaide University Law School in 1984. The author lives in Adelaide with his wife, a pile of books and a pernicious cat.
A terrific read but not for those looking for something "light and easy". Highly recommended for anyone wanting to get their teeth into something tasty. The depth of research in this novel is incredible and will be enlightening for most readers.
