Lotus Everett was dealt a cruel hand that trapped her in an eternal existence. With her twin brother’s demons never too far away, she takes a chance to flee from his torment to the other side of the country, to Fairhaven, Washington, one of the first towns to embrace the treaty between humans and vampires.
Situated with a new identity, a home, and two close friends, Lotus finally gets a taste of what it feels like to be ordinary.
Until he sees her.
Silas Clark is no stranger to a good time. He’s just not looking for any attachments while he and his brother work on building Little Wing, a community center for young vampires. But when he sees a mysterious woman who appears to be concealing her vampirism, he won’t stop until he uncovers what lies beneath her façade.
When he learns all that lies beneath, will he still look at her the same way? Or will he turn on her just like the rest?
Little Wing is a paranormal romance set in contemporary Fairhaven, Washington where humans and vampires coexist. This is book one of three of the Shades of Fairhaven series. Please be mindful of the content warnings included at the start of this book.
I loved this. I gave it a 4.25. I’ve never read a cozy vampire novel and I want more. We have our main character Lotus who is quiet and try’s to avoid any vampire activity because of her past. Then we have Silas who is out going and a vampire guide to those who have just turned… or at least her wants to be. That’s why he opens Little Wing a center for vampires. They meet and he helps her and falls pretty hard. It was very much a slice of life but vampire 🧛🏻♀️
This Book was chefs kiss. Be ready to connect with the FMC and to do some self reflection. The obstacles the FMC faces and comes out of were things no one should ever have to go through. But she did and starts an amazing healing journey. I loved this book. When I wasn’t reading this book I was dreaming and thinking about it until I picked it back up. I highly recommend it.
Wow! This was the perfect paranormal romance. The connection between the FMC and MMC was electric. Lotus' journey was both suspenseful and heartwarming! The writing makes you feel present in the world and lives of these characters. I loved it!
This book truly made my heart happy. I’m not sure if this was the Author’s intention but to me it felt like it draws heavily from real world events and figures while weaving them into a fictional narrative. It's a powerful reflection of our reality disguised as storytelling. Olga did a tremendous job giving Lotus a second chance at happiness and freedom. One of my favorite phrase’s from the book is “Your you is so beautiful” and I had to highlight it because a lot of the time people hide who they really are because of fear of rejection or judgement. Definitely recommend it for a feel good read and hopefully we get more from this story.
I’ve been waiting for this book for so long and it fulfilled and surpassed everything I was hoping for! Filled with such care and love, the story follows Lotus and her found family/friends and does an amazing job emphasizing the beauty of second chances at life with the love and happiness that everybody dreams of. Silas is a fantastic counterpart to Lotus and carries his own equally interesting story and complex emotions that the two of them together make for such a great read.
Full of sassy, honest, and downright steamy scenes, I simply couldn’t put it down and read it straight through! Highly recommend for people who love vampires, open door spice, found family, but as always, be aware of the triggers.
I am am beyond thankful I got to read this arc of this debut book.
This story is a little of everything. Vampires living out in the world with humans and co existing, there is also a love story , found family, and some suspense. I can’t wait to read more because there has to be more ??? Right?
What a refreshing, and fun paranormal vampire romance! First off I want to say thank you To Olga Ziminska for choosing me to ARC read this book, I’m blown away that this is her debut novel.
This book had so much to love. The found family was outstanding and it added so much to the story. I cared deeply about all the characters. Silas and Lotus were so perfect for each other, while both had back stories that made them who they were they were truly made for each other and were able to support and take care of each other throughout the story.
Can I also mention, no third act break up!!! The story had so much suspense and other “bumps” in the road that I loved getting to see the characters work through it together.
Highly recommend putting this on your fall TBR to fill your vampire romance needs.
I absolutely adored this book! I went into knowing vampires, found family, & romance. It wasn't the typical vampire books I read and that made it much more interesting. It added a new, fresh twist to the classic blood craving creatures. If you love fantasy creatures and crave open-door romance, I would highly recommend!
spicy, sweet, and amazing. This book is definitely a five-star. if you love vampires and spice with a lot of plot, you will love this book. Lotus, the female main character, is strong, loving, and beautiful. Silas is the best bookboyfriend you could have. There is plot spice and found family. check your triggers and enjoy the book.
Overall rating: 4.5⭐️ (GR won’t let me give half star ratings, but we know this)
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
🦇 A vampire story with HEART!! 🦇
Lotus Everett has dealt with more than her fair share of trauma. A vampire with a complicated past; she flees her home (along with her controlling twin brother, Luca) and starts a new life in Fairhaven, Washington. There, she lives a quiet, routine life—hiding her vampire identity under a mask of heavy makeup, working at a local bookshop and spending time with her two closest friends…until she meets Silas. A handsome and ambitious fellow vampire with big dreams, Silas challenges her way of life and helps her find the confidence to be who she is.
Can Lotus find her footing, confront her past, and move forward? What’s the deal with her twin brother? Will she ever stop wearing all that makeup?
Read the book to find out!
This was such an unexpectedly heartwarming story! I am forever grateful for being chosen to ARC read this little beauty. I expected a standard paranormal romance, but what I got was so much more:
• Found family • Romance • lovable characters • healing vibes
I absolutely loved this story, and—I cannot stress this enough—I can’t wait to read what happens next!
Littlewing is one of those rare stories that feels both timeless and fresh. Olga Zaminska’s writing is lyrical yet accessible, pulling you into a world that feels whimsical on the surface but layered with depth and meaning underneath. The imagery is stunning—every page feels like stepping into a painting, yet the emotions are raw and real.
What struck me most was how Littlewing balances magic with heartache. The characters are beautifully flawed, their journeys full of quiet strength, resilience, and discovery. It’s the kind of book that makes you pause, reread passages, and savor the way words can transform simple moments into something extraordinary.
This isn’t just a story—it’s an experience. If you love books that carry both wonder and weight, Littlewing is a must-read. Olga Zaminska has created something unforgettable.
I loved everything about this book, from the way it hooks you in straight away by showing us the situation Lotus was in before she escaped and went to Fairhaven, a town that is deemed a safe place for vampires to co-exist with humans, all the way to the drama in the courtroom. Lotus makes the most lovable friends in Reina and Kait, and then she meets Silas 🫠🫠🫠. Just when everything seems like it's going great for Lotus, her crazy psycho brother shows back up. I won't spoil the book, so you gotta read it to find out what happens when Luca finds his twin sister again.
If you like: 🦇 vampires 👨👩👧👦 Found family (my favorite trope) 🖤 a love story for the ages 🌶 and some well written spice, then you definitely need to read this book!
I was lucky enough to be selected as an ARC reader for this wonderful book. I’ve been working through reading it for a second time, because it was just so good. I cannot say enough good things about this book. It took trauma and allowed it to shape the characters in a different way than I normally see, and it was refreshing. This was a slower burn, but the story made it more than worth it. Getting to see the growth that lotus goes through during the story felt realistic. I fell in love with Lotus’s story, and I hope you will too. I can’t wait to see more from Olga in the future.
Lotus is running from a terrifying, painful past that won't let her go. Silas is looking to do good after a tragedy. Both are searching for something they might find in each other. If you love yearning with a dash of spice, check out this vampire romance.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 “Found family, fierce feels, and a little chaos? I am soaring.”
Little Wing by Olga Ziminski is unexpected, a little chaotic, and completely impossible to ignore. And honestly? I LOVED every single messy, magical second of it.
But let’s talk about the heart of it all: the found family. Ugh. My whole soul did a happy dance. These characters came together like broken puzzle pieces that somehow made a masterpiece. They bickered, healed, held space for each other, and showed up in all the imperfect, beautiful ways that real families sometimes can’t. I wanted to jump inside the book just to be adopted by them.
Ziminski has this way of writing that feels like a warm blanket one minute and a slap with a glitter-covered glove the next. It’s lyrical, raw, and so full of personality
✨ A storyline that flutters and flies with grace and grit ✨ Snarky banter with emotional depth ✨ A found family that made me cry, cackle, and crave group hugs ✨ Characters that are flawed in the best, most lovable way
If you love stories that give you butterflies, bruises, and a chosen crew that feels more like home than blood ever did—Little Wing is your next obsession.
I laughed. I wept. I texted my friends “YOU NEED TO READ THIS NOW.” I messaged the author to completly freak out over Silas and Lois. Five stars 🖤🪶✨
Little Wing was a fantastic start to this trilogy and one of the better contemporary paranormal romances I’ve read in a while.
What stood out most to me were the characters and the romance. Lotus and Silas were wonderful leads, and the story of overcoming past trauma added real emotional depth. The pacing was excellent never dragging and always keept me engaged. The worldbuilding was strong, blending small-town charm with vampire lore in a way that felt both fresh and familiar. And the romance? Absolutely top-notch. It had just enough spice to keep things exciting without ever overshadowing the story.
If I had one critique, it’s that I wanted more expansion on the Vampiric Council Nation and especially more of Silas’s backstory. While the book technically has two main characters, it sometimes felt like Lotus took the spotlight, with Silas leaning more toward a supporting role. His motivations were clear, but I didn’t feel as fully connected to his past in the way I did with Lotus’s.
The ending tied up the main plot beautifully. Some side character arcs felt incomplete, but since this is the first in a trilogy, I have no doubt those threads will be picked up later. In fact, the bonus chapter in the ebook preview for book two already answered one of my biggest questions about Reina, the spitfire bestfriedn to Lotus and a character I’m thrilled to see will take center stage next.
This is a book I would absolutely reread and recommend widely especially to fans of small-town HEA paranormal romances with just a touch of trauma healing mixed in.
What stays with me most are the lines that touched something personal: “Your YOU is perfect” from the Dedication page and “Your you is so beautiful.” from the story. As someone who has struggled with self acceptance, those words hit me deeply, and I can’t thank the author enough for including them.
Final Thoughts: The mix of modern-day setting with traditional vampire lore was perfectly balanced kinda like True Blood meets Hallmark small-town vibes. I especially loved how the supernatural elements blended seamlessly with the community-building themes. While tension between humans and vampires wasn’t a strong factor (the treaty had settled most of that years before), the story focused instead on healing, found family, and romance. Supporting characters like Reina really stood out, and I’m already eager to dive into her story in book two. Overall, Little Wing delivers on everything I want in this genre: heartfelt characters, satisfying romance, a dash of supernatural intrigue, and just enough setup to make me hungry for the next installment.
Step into an urban fantasy where Vampires are out of the coffin and integrating themselves into modern day human society. Not just for the safety of both kinds, but because they want to grow and thrive amongst humans. This book had me looking at vampires in a whole new light. The concept was both fun and incredibly relatable with themes that offered true friendship and acceptance. The found family in this book was so heartening it brought me to tears multiple times. With characters that are both fiercely supportive and equally sassy. The FMC demonstrated strength and resilience against trauma that threatened to bring her down and make her crumble. She kept fighting for herself, sending such a wonderful message. The romance in this is also top tier. The type of love that is soft and allows room for growth. The type of love that is strong but doesn’t cause pressure. The type of love that leaves you feeling raw and open in the best way. This was a fantastic read and I can’t wait to see where this story goes next. This book will stay with me for a very long time. In my opinion, Olga knocked this out of the park as a debut novel. If this is the level of connection we can expect already, I can’t begin to imagine where this journey will take her and the readers. Can’t wait for book two.
I watched Olga work through this novel on TikTok, and I was so excited to get my hands on an advanced copy!
Lotus Everett, cursed with an eternal existence and haunted by her twin brother’s cruelty, escapes across the country to Fairhaven, Washington, one of the first towns to welcome peace between humans and vampires. With a new identity, a home, and two close friends, she finally experiences a taste of normal life, until Silas Clark notices her. Focused on building a community center for young vampires, Silas isn’t looking for attachments, but the mystery surrounding Lotus draws him in. When her carefully guarded secrets are exposed, Silas must decide whether to stand by her or turn away like everyone else before him.
This was such a cozy vampire book, and I love the world the author built throughout this novel. The different shades of eyes on vampires was so clever, and I appreciated the index in the front of the book. Lotus (love that name) was such a resilient character, trying to make a life for herself outside of her maker's hold while trying to evade him as well. Her best friends in the book were true BFFs, and I loved Silas. Also, those spicy scenes were steamy! Totally here for it, definitely recommend this book!
Wow! I cannot believe that this is a debut novel! Top notch storytelling! This story takes us into the world of humans and vampires. I really loved that the main characters were both vampires and the vision of the world they live in. That really caught my attention because so often the focus falls on the human perspective of a vampire/human relationship. So this was refreshing. World building was amazing- enough to bring the reader in to an entire new framework, but not burdensome or boring. Then, chef’s kiss, the depth of relationships and growth of characters within the story. Instead of glossing over any past problems, we walk with our MC’s as they learn from the past and fight for the future. Lotus has gone through so much trauma and carries a guilt that isn’t hers. Silas has suffered loss of family and is working to create a better world for the vampires living in a new world. The romance that builds between them just pulled me in and I couldn’t put it down. The additional friends and family were so well developed that now I want their stories too! Kudos to Ms. Ziminska on a debut well done!
A beautifully unique story about what would happen if vampires were accepted into the world and coexisted with humans. This is unlike any vampire book I’ve ever read which was so refreshing! This story focuses on Lotus who is 300 years old and her history of abuse from her twin brother, her maker. She escaped and has been living in fear of ever being found. My heart ached for her. Her growth and development from start to finish was absolutely beautiful. Our MMC Silas is what I’d want in any book boyfriend. Undying loyalty, complete support of Lo as she becomes stronger, and his own personal achievement of building Little Wing with his brother, a place for new vampires to get the support and resources they need to adapt to the world and abide by the treaty between vampires and humans. I am just in awe of how beautiful this story was and I’m so excited to add it to my physical book shelf when I can!
Wow, this book was so amazing. Not only was I entranced by the main character, Lotus, I love every inch of this magical little world. Vampires and humans co-mingle now, but it wasn't always that way. Someone who is aware of just how delicate the interactions between the two can be. While carrying a lot of trauma, Lotus does her best to still live her life. Although deeply in her shell, an interesting stranger named Silas begins to change that. Hoping to give young vampires a better life, Silas is precisely what Lotus needs to help her shed her past.
This book tackles a lot of deep topics like trauma, abuse, and self-esteem. I think the author did a marvelous job at navigating all of this and made Little Wing a story of empowerment and love.
There is a perfect amount of spice in this book and I can't wait to read many more books by this author in the future.
Little Wing is a new perspective on the traditional vampire story and out everywhere NOW!! I gave it a 4.5 rating. It is medium paced, very spicy, while at the same time very sweet, kind, empathetic, darlk, mysterious, traumatic and heart warming all bundled together to tell this unique tale. From the Prose, we can tell that the author is a deep thinker and put every ounce of those thoughts and feelings into these characters. If you love stories with heart and don’t mind open door spice, then the Shades of Fairhaven is a must add to your tbr! *Please go to the Author’s website to check out trigger warnings!* I would like to thank Olga Ziminska for trusting me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
really enjoy this story! I loved that it was a story of healing. Poor Lotus had been through it, but Silas waa there, ready to pick up her broken pieces and !and her whole again. Silas is an amazing mmc, and I absolutely adore Lotus. There weren't too many spicy scenes, but I did.enjoy the ones we got. I felt some chapters ended abruptly. Some of the exposition moments would've been more effective had they been shown in dialogue. And I personally felt the whole conflict with Luca was solved a bit too quickly. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with how the story ended, I just wish there had been more of a fight, ya know? Overall, a lovely story, I'm excited to read future books I'm this series!
Everyone has a story and Lotus story in her final moments before she was turned weren’t pleasant to say the least. The day she found her twin brother after he disappeared was the day her torment begin. He not only tormented her, but made her suffer throughout the years. What happens when she finally leaves him? How about the life she was building with her friends and the guy she utterly falls for; will the love she has for them be tarnished by her brother’s crimes and bloodlust? After all his brother is wanted by the vampire council. Will Lotus ever be free from her maker, that tether that binds them for eternity? Or will she also be convicted of her own crime during moments of distress?
Olga Ziminska absolutely shines in this stunning debut. ✨ Her writing is rich, heartfelt, and beautifully immersive. Little Wing isn’t just a vampire romance — it’s a story of healing, love, and rediscovering your strength.
Lotus and Silas feel so real, their chemistry magnetic and their journey unforgettable. The world-building and emotional layers are handled with such grace and care.
Ziminska’s storytelling feels soulful and confident — it’s hard to believe this is her first novel. I’m already counting down the days for whatever she writes next! 🖤
This is a debut novel?? I seriously cannot believe that! This story is top notch! I fell in love with each character introduced to me. The FMC- Lotus, carries secrets that she has held for centuries. The MMC- Silas, helps her to feel loved, safe and more herself by listening and showing patience throughout the book. Such care was given to the names of the places where the characters went!! I NEED T-SHIRTS!! The Black Cat Scribes? Yaaassss!! Really though, if you enjoy vampire romances, books that have banter for days, trauma AND steamy scenes...give Little Wing a try please!
As a die-hard vampire fan, I must say, this book truly captivated me. The intricate plot unravels with such suspense that it had me glued to my seat. The characters' depth and the mysterious aura surrounding them completely captured my attention. The perfect blend of romance and mystery in a world filled with secrets and allure truly mesmerized me! Vampire enthusiasts will surely be under its enchanting spell! In my opinion, this book is an absolute gem for those seeking an escape into the supernatural realm.
I came across Little Wing from following the author on TikTok and honestly, while it’s not my go-to genre, I was drawn to the cover and to the author’s energy.
This book ended up having everything I love in a book! Chosen family, women who uplift each other, deeper messages about community, characters that feel whole… yes, even the side characters that’s why my heart skipped a beat when I realized Reina’s book is next!
Just like the people in the book, I’ve been convinced to keep giving vampires a chance.
