Rate this book
It is England in the 1880s. These are dark days for the poor and downtrodden. But darker still are the things which go unseen, things not of this world which lurk in the mists and shadows waiting to prey on the unwary. Here is a record of the sinister and terrifying encounters experienced by M. R. Templeton, museum archivist and researcher whose job it is to identify ancient artefacts and writings. But this seemingly straightforward task brings him face to face with malevolent forces as he discovers the origins of these strange objects. He uncovers the horrors that befell those who once owned them. For they, having dared to disturb that which should not have been disturbed found themselves pursued by unimaginable evil.

Every account is filled with brooding and menace, with tales ranging from the eerie and unearthly to the macabre and demonic.

For the last 20 years David Christopher has been a popular world wide speaker. He has generated new ideas on the management of high blood pressure, diabetes and auto-immune diseases, and was one of the first to discourage the use of Prozac in favor of natural methods. Alarmed by the growing use of Ritalin, David developed an alternative program for ADD and ADHD.

In 1974 David Christopher, M.H., took his place by his father's side at The School of Natural Healing. David's book entitled An Herbal Legacy of Courage is a loving tribute to his father. Today, thousands of individuals practice the art of natural healing thanks to David's continued directorship and teaching. Many more receive herbal instruction from David and his wife, Fawn, through their weekly radio program "A Healthier You". David lectures internationally and has offered educational counseling by phone for over 16 years. He continues formulating herbal combinations, such as the Herbal Traditions line, the Kid-e-Line, Vitalerbs, and the INSTEAD line including the Liver Formula and MindTrac; to assist the natural healing process.

The Diaries of M. R. Templeton by David Christopher is a gothic horror narrative set in Victorian England that builds a slow, oppressive atmosphere of dread through its exploration of forbidden artefacts and the unseen forces attached to them.

One of the book’s strongest elements is its central character, M. R. Templeton, a museum archivist whose professional investigation into ancient objects gradually exposes him to increasingly disturbing and supernatural phenomena. This progression from intellectual curiosity to personal terror creates a compelling narrative arc.

The Victorian setting plays a significant role in shaping the tone of the story. The stark contrast between societal hardship and supernatural menace enhances the sense of unease, making the world feel both historically grounded and spiritually dangerous.

The episodic structure of encounters allows the horror to unfold in layers, each account contributing to a growing sense of inevitability and escalation. The recurring theme of forbidden knowledge reinforces the idea that some discoveries carry irreversible consequences.

For readers who enjoy gothic horror, atmospheric storytelling, and tales of escalating supernatural encounters rooted in historical settings, The Diaries of M. R. Templeton delivers a chilling and immersive reading experience.
