Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 📈
I love an interesting plot with my spicy books and wow this was off the smut charts and the plot was really intriguing too! This was a great fall read- I enjoyed the creepy paranormal vibes, witch and demon elements. Some parts got cheesy with how their love triangle progressed, but overall I enjoyed their relationship dynamic. This includes a hefty amount of trigger warnings so beware! The dedication to this book is amazing though. I was out of breath laughing the at the first couple of pages. 🤭 This will definitely be in my fall spooky reading rotation every year now. 😈

The way the CJ can incorporate so much plot and absolutely filthy smut in a standalone will never cease to amaze me
When Dani finds herself back in her childhood small-town after her father passes, she decides to keep her childhood home and paint over the painful memories instead. As she’s at work cleaning up a crime scene, she notices a loose floorboard and inside discovers a grimoire and a necklace. Her small town has a dark past, said to be cursed by a witch…

A lot of the time when I pickup a demon romance that is heavily smutty. I usually expect that is what I’m getting fast paced and dirty. But that wasn’t what I got from Her Dark Obsessions. CJ did a beautiful job not only building each character, but also creating a well thought out and executed plot.
This was my first of her books, and I am officially a fan. Plus who doesn’t love demons with forked tongues 😉

Wow! this book was so so hot! The spice spices and the plot plotted
The spice was well incorporated into the plot I found! It didnt feel like random smut just thrown in for the sake of having smut. It actually worked in well with the story line. The three demons were hot! Even their names were attractive lol Dani was such a sweet FMC to. Im so jealous of her ngl 🤭
Also the side characters were so amazing! Especially Amelia! Our demon boys probably would of died without her watching over them 😂 men. Cant live without a women can they? Idk. I just loved this book so much! Definitely recommend

Dani, Adonis, Killian, and Dax are beautiful together and their steamy scenes are 🥵🤤
I will say that there are definitely some missing words and some things missing, but it's not even really noticeable, my mind filled in the blanks pretty easily and I am irrevocably in love with this book and all the characters!!!!

What a freaking ride! I ate this book up. CJ WROTE FOR THE VIBES AND THE VIBES WERE IMMACULATE.
There’s just something about a rh/why choose/everybody f*cks everybody that really does it for me 😭😅❤️😇
I’d def reccomend this as a palette cleanser or if you’re looking for smut > plot. But even then, the plot was interesting! ❤️❤️

seriously read over half in one day and then (work happened so two days later) I flew through the second half again. the plot twist had me gagged. and the spice? some of the best I think I've read 🥵🥵

um okayyyyy. At first the plot was pretty interesting with her summoning demons and all three being her mate but then that’s when things went downhill. I don’t mind a book being spicy but I like it when it’s right place right time. I think this book just had the FMC and MMCs having sex in every scene like come on.

Also, when the best friend Carter died, I did not understand why the FMC and he kissed. Like that’s crazy LMAO. I get that he had a crush on her for forever but to kiss him while he’s about do die is actually crazy LOL
Also also, for a quarter of the book the MMCs are worried about the FMC making this decision that will cost her her life but then she doesn’t die and somehow because halfish demon with powers. Okayyyy I guess. We just lost the stakes that we were all worried about. I did not like the fact that she could just go to the afterworld and hang out with Carter because then none of the angst was real. Everything just was magically all figured out. Naur I wanted lessons to be learned and progression.

Listen all I’m going to say is: can we PLEASE get a super spicy book that has ALSO plot and character development.
If you’re only in for the spice then this can be your cup of tea, however, scenes and language does get repetitive, thats my only critique on the actual erotica element (sometimes corny too but whatever)
As far as REAL plot? Banter? Character development? Big zero.
I rate it as a two star read for me because I really need some intrigue, banter, story with hopefully plot twists etc.
I would love if someone could write a slow burn heavy on plot series, like legacy series but also be very graphic on spice.

BABY I DO LOVE A REVERSE HAREM. And these demons. Ohhhhhhhh. Say less. Give me all the demons. Give me all the sword crossing. Mmmmmm. 10/10. Loved the FMC, loved all the side characters. CRIED SO HARD(if you know you know) “a life for a life”.

I wanted to like this, I really did. At one point, Adonis says “it’s almost too good to be true” and that’s precisely how I would describe the entire premise of this book.
Cons:
* CONSTANT EMOTIONAL WHIPLASH!!
* I struggled with the plot — it does arrive about halfway through the book but it ebbs and flows.
* The dialogue throughout 100% took me out — the way characters speak to each other is just not it, and there is no easing into anything. It’s like love bombing pretty much immediately.
* Lack of contractions and phrasing when characters spoke made it unrealistic!!
* Also, girls do not talk to each other or interact with each other like Dani and Jules. I’m sorry!
* This man is hot but wears BRIEFS? Immediately no.
* I know she tries to like Jiminy Cricket explain it away, but… it’s weird that Amelia knows everything but just didn’t happen to mention it over CENTURIES.
* The use of “meat flute” and “custard launcher” actually made me physically ill and I almost DNFed right there.
* I really don’t understand Carter’s character arc unfortunately.
Perks:
* Love the representation - Lesbian/bisexual representation, poly relationships - all good things!
Overall, I can’t get behind the hype here, and I wanted to DNF but held out because I’d like to support indie authors as much as possible and get them that KU money. Just wasn’t for me, which is ok! Also, regardless of this review, I think Greiser is one to watch in the future — It’s clear to me that her work is just getting started.

Ahhhhh!!!! Ok, this might be my newest favorite book in the dark romance world. Holy SMOKES do I need a cigarette after reading this IN ONE DAY (and I don’t even smoke).

had super high hopes for this book. I went into it knowing it wasn't plot heavy, and actually enjoyed what plot their was. I was hoping for a fun spicy book, but honestly, this lacked.. yes there was a lot of spice, but it didn't feel like good spice, if you know what I mean? additionally, some scenes made me almost physical ill. I read the triggers, I knew what was gonna be in the book, but the extent to which it was, was just a bit too much. overall, it was fun, but the last 20% i was just ready to be done with the book...

I was hoping to love this. ( ╥ω╥ ) But I didn't. I didn't like the obvious favoritism and how everyone seems to be okay with it. And for the people who said that there was a nice balance of romance and plot, they were wrong! (≖､≖╬) They were horny for each other; there was no "kilig" moment. No shit and giggles, but just hot, steamy, sexy times with each other. I can't even feel Dani's profound love towards Dax and Killian!!

Ok I really enjoyed this book. The spice level was perfect for the scene. And actually the plot was good also. Really made me want to summon some demons🤣. I never wanted to be inside a book this bad before lmao. And I actually cried a few times. I want me an Adonis, Dax and Killian 🫠😭
Only issue I had was with how the words flowed. Made me get dialogue a little mixed up because ran all into each other.

Absolutely addictive! This book delivers everything I love— a fierce, unapologetically strong female lead, a dark twist of magic, and three dangerously seductive demons she summons. The chemistry is off the charts, the spice is steamy. If you’re into powerful women and supernatural heat this one will leave you breathless and begging for more!

I read this book in like three days in between shifts and anytime i could get a free moment including in the shower 😭. it was absolutely incredible super 🌶️🌶️🌶️ but also had a good plot which can be hard to find! i loved the way the four mcs interacted and that they weren’t all just obsessed with the fmc but each other as well! Loved it so much!!!!!!

This is top notch demon smut. I read this delightfully filthy book with my pinkie out and a smile in my heart. I will probably go read this again after posting this review. It’s not often a book is this delicious with a plot too.
