When Peyton Powell, a lonely housewife, lands a job at Independent Woman magazine, an erotic door opens that begins with curiosity and ends with a sexy, dominant stranger who has every intention of showing her the meaning of service before self. However, once the blindfold comes off, and Sir’s identity is revealed, her whole future is in jeopardy of a man her body refuses to forget. Angie Daniels grew up on the South side of Chicago, Illinois. At a very early age, she spent nights creating soap operas with her younger sister until the two drifted off to sleep. Never did she realize that her longtime dream to become a published author would someday become a reality.
In 1999 Angie decided it was finally time to return to her love of writing. She took a year off to write her first book Intimate Intentions, which started off as a simple romance novel and later escalated into 542 pages of romantic suspense. After two submissions, Angie was offered a four-book contract with Genesis Press and her first book was released in 2001. In 2003, she also signed with BET Arabesque, and Kensington's Dafina imprint in 2004. In 2006, she added Parker Publishing, Aphrodisia and Harlequin Kimani Romance to her list. In 2010 she will release her twentieth novel. Angie currently resides in Missouri.
Good continuation of the first story. I usually don't like stories where a married person is cheating, but Ray is such a jackass, I can't dredge up any sympathy for him. Creed sounds like an ass as well, but such an irresistible one...
I'm glad this book is short (although it doesn't feel like it), because I'm pretty sure I was holding my breath the whole time I was reading it, lol. I was so nervous that Creed and Peyton were going to get caught while in the act, especially in the very beginning. So many times I wanted to shake Peyton, and scream 'Be careful, girl!', but Creed had already laid that thang on her and Peyton couldn't help herself.
We're going to have to come up with a new word to describe the heat that Ms. Daniels is bringing to this series, because hot just isn't descriptive enough. I needed a glass of ice water after reading the scene in Creed's office, but the scene at the house party with the couple's 'performance? Chile, I just needed to sit in ice water! So. Smoking. Hot!!! I don't know how she comes up with this stuff, but I really hope she keeps doing it. Can't wait to see how she tops this with the next installment.
I actually gasped at the end of the book. What a cliffhanger! Please hurry with Book 3!
p.s. Anybody else think Creed have anything to do with setting the event in the ending in motion?
Super Duper Steamy Fire Hottt!!!!! SBJ Creed Kirkland is a man who gets what he wants and protects what belongs to him! Peyton girl I hope you are ready!
The characters know Nothing about BDSM, and Fifty Shades of S#!t isn't a good example of the lifestyle. 1. Darlene said "Doms don't like to share." Creed says he's not a Dom because he doesn't like sharing. Contradictions, thou series has many. 2. Creed told Peyton she was his submissive in Curious; however, he's not her Dom, yet he expects her to call him Sir. *It's like saying you my girlfriend but I'm not you boyfriend.* Creed should have Never given her that title because he doesn't know what it means. 3. Where's the after care? He tied her up with ropes, had rough s3x and didn't massage her wrists or check for bruising. 4. Lack of communication. He says trust is earned, but he hasn't done anything to earn hers! He demanded she submit to him. Submission is a gift you give to someone you trust.
5."Trust and obedience is earned, not by belittling a person in front of an audience." This insulting quote highlights Ms. Daniels' ignorance of the lifestyle. D/s relationships are not monolithic.
I would give it a four but please complete the series! I am so tired of authors starting a series and then just dropping off the face of the earth without a goodbye or even an update on what they are doing. I could call these authors out, but I won 't because they are great writers but you get hooked and then they just leave you hanging.
Well I wondered how long this was going to go on. Can't wait to find out in the next book. The pleasure was so heated I don't know how they will be able to stop!!
Serve is part 2 of the Seduced Series, and things go from hot to blazing for columnist Peyton Powell. Our lonely and neglected wife has satisfied her curiosity. “Sir” commanded her body in every way and the time she has spent with him has awaken a passion in her, now she cannot stop thinking about him. When “Sirs” identity is reviled, she is shocked. She believes her dreams could go up in flames and things in her life will never be the same. “Sir” wants her and he will play dirty to have her so when he presents her with a choice, Peyton finds she is unable to deny the demanding, sexy, man and agrees to serve him. Not as good as the first book, it was still a good read. I really liked Peyton and I thought she was a very relate-able character. Many women have been in her shoes and have tried and tried with no results. The ending had he yelling at my kindle, I really want to know how that situation turns out. What bothered me a little is Sir was way too aggressive for my taste but, it wasn’t over the top. Still, I liked this book and can’t wait to find out what happens next.
All I can say is two wrongs don't make it right. Mr. Raymond needs to stop playing games and give Peyton a divorce instead of stringing her along. And Peyton needs to let go, her marriage is over.
