He's never been attracted to anyone. She's only been attracted to women. Theirs was never meant to be a love story.
Stone and Michelle are best friends who have decided to be single and celibate because of their sexual orientations.
But when Stone is offered his dream job at a church that only hires married men, Michelle offers to be his wife. It's a simple friendly arrangement. After all, it's not like it's possible for them to fall for each other ... right?
I really enjoyed the marriage counseling parts of this book—I actually learned a lot from them. The idea of a breath prayer was new to me, and it stuck with me. I also didn’t realize that some marriages might not start out as romantic but can still be full of faith and commitment. That was really eye-opening.
The story follows Michelle and Stone, and parts of their relationship were painful to read—especially when Michelle feels more than Stone does. My heart broke for her. Still, their journey is honest and rooted in deep trust and obedience to God.
Michelle’s strength and faith, especially in moments of rejection, really stood out. This book made me think in new ways, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for something heartfelt and spiritually grounded.
Christian romance fiction authors have been releasing mind blowing books back to back likeeeee I’m wowedddd.
The storylines are not regular at alll because how do we explain the storyline of “The Arrangement by Sana Watts" . It’s a marriage of convenience trope where the FMC was only attracted to women and the MMC isn’t attracted to anyone. He didn’t even want to get married.
Stone and Michelle shared a very beautiful friendship, I love how sweet their banter is 🥳🥳🥳
I really love how well detailed the marriage counseling parts of this book was,it was very educative.
This story is a beautiful story of trust, faith in God and hope. It gives hope to people who feels different and feel like they can't be loved or in love.
I like how this book really captivated my attention right from the start. This unconventional plot is definitely one that is never really talked about in the Christian community. It felt very personable hearing the perspectives of the main characters throughout the story. I especially liked how the characters responses and emotions were raw. Even how the story unfolded was authentic and through it all, the focus was always on God. Despite the bumps in the road that the characters experienced, it was clear that they sought God for every step they took. Great read!
Sana' Watts has gone and done it! She just might've created the best male character ever and his name is Stone. So, move over Mr. Darcy - his name is Stone. Stone is the epitome of every girl's dream, and then some.
Go read The Arrangement, you'll be taught a lot about premarital things and how to maintain a God-centered relationship.
Are you looking for the romance of the summer? If so, you've found The Arrangement!
Definitely not a typical Christian romance plot! My favourite thing about this novel was reading the inner wrestle of the main characters, Michelle and Stone. I also liked how it was wasn’t written from solely Michelle’s point of view, but Stone’s as well! God is in the work of making right what was made wrong in the fall, and I loved seeing that in the story of Michelle and Stone.
The Arrangement hooked me with the cute friendship between our two main characters. I loved how it was clear from the start that both Michelle and Stone were strong in their faith and willing to be content with God’s design for sexuality, despite knowing that it meant their sexual desires would not be fulfilled. I appreciated that the author was not afraid to dive into deep topics in this book.
Stone and Michelle did not marry because they felt like all Christians needed to get married, but because of an opportunity for Stone. I was surprised at how the author presented the situation in a pure, silly, yet serious way. In light of most romance books released today, seeing how their faith led their relationship was refreshing.
The author is a therapist, and her characters sound like therapists (at the very least, they sound incredibly wise). I really liked that; it felt like reading something comforting to my soul. That in combination with the humor between Stone and Michelle made it easy for me to devour this book.
I haven’t read many marriage of convenience books, but I’m sold now. This book is comforting, thoughtful, and hilarious! It is part of a series, and I can’t wait to read more!!
'The Arrangement' by Sana' Watts was a faith filled story of an "unlikely couple" who were meant to be.
Michelle and Stone both had reasons why they believed they would never be in a romantic relationship, however God had other plans for them. I loved watching Michelle and Stone's strong and beautiful friendship grow and bloom into more through God's love, healing, and guidance.
Author Sana' Watts explored topics, such as same-sex attraction, women in church leadership, and lack of diversity in some church settings, that are often difficult or neglected topics of discussion by the church. She shined the light of Jesus' love over these topics with understanding and grace instead of judgment. I believe both Michelle and Stone had a very strong and truth-filled biblical view of these different topics. Still we got to be with them in their struggles and see how they brought it to the Lord, trusting and having faith in Him throughout their journeys towards Him and towards each other.
The two things I loved the most in this book was the wise, faith filled advice given throughout the story and the strong communication between the characters, especially Michelle and Stone. From the marriage counseling to the advice and insights given by God-centered friendships, there were so many scenes filled with wisdom that is applicable in our lives. I also really admired and appreciated how strong the communication between Michelle and Stone was throughout this story. I loved how they were always checking in with each other and truly listened to each other.
If you are looking for a Christian fiction book that is faith filled and doesn't shy away from hard topics you definitely should read 'The Arrangement' by Sana' Watts!
Michelle and Stone are two completely different characters in upbringing, skin color, and sexuality. I did wonder how the author was going to weave a romance story reflecting God's love, but she did it. Michelle and Stone, determined to follow God's leading and direction and not act on their human emotions and feelings of sexuality made an arrangement to be man and wife. This book reflects their growth and journey towards love and a beautiful marriage. The author took a strongly felt issue in today's world and wove a story of God's love and grace as both characters determined to follow God's purpose and design for their lives. The marriage counseling and growth period exposes much insight into the marriage institution. The arrangement is a story of growth and choosing God above human desire and wants and seeing God work His miracle of restoration. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Another faith filled captivating read! This is my second read from this author and I’m still captivated! I’m always amazed by how Mrs. Watts incorporates Faith, romance while also hitting some pretty heavy topics.
I loved the friendship that the FMC and MMC had prior to their marriage. It what actually prompted them to enter into the whole arrangement. And what an “arrangement” it was! From the very beginning you’re rooting for these two and become frustrated(the good kind) that they can’t see what you can obviously see.
Overall, it was a great read that I definitely shall be revisiting again. Not only for the romance but the beautiful prayers and little(but very big) nuggets of wisdom.
