Rate this book
An exposé of a broken system including powerful and deeply personal stories.  Authors Bela Biro and Jim Cunningham, healthcare insiders, share their own experiences and those of others to illustrate the devastating impact of the U.S. healthcare system on individuals and families.  They reveal how this "system" fails the nation as a whole, and they call for radical change and provide a roadmap for a better future.

A crisp overview of the morass that is our health care system written by two insiders, who even-handedly review what’s working and what is not. They provide some potential directions for how the situation might be improved—but the wholesale reimagining of how health care is delivered to Americans and paid for that they ultimately seem to be pushing for seems unlikely. But markets do have a way of driving change—and I wonder whether the AI revolution will disrupt health care in such dramatic ways that it could make this reimagining actually possible.

Great depth and directness.

A fantastic thrill ride through decades of ingrained, nay, trained intransigence that has driven out healthcare system to be the most expensive, worst healthcare on the planet. With a plan.
