Just when we thought the fight was over, there’s a whole new battle on the horizon.

Our last battle might have ended in victory, as we defeated one of our enemies, but it also opened the door for a much bigger danger. It gave power to a witch who is determined to take control of all shifters before the next full moon.

We are now cursed, and there’s limited time to put a stop to it.

With my pack by my side, I will have to race against the clock to learn about my heritage. Together we must embrace our full quintet power, laced with magic I never asked for. But it could be exactly what we need to survive.

Especially when we go up against the most powerful witch in the world. And her allies.

My five alphas might disagree, but I know that sacrifices might have to be made to save shifters.

Sacrifices that could cost us everything.

*This is the final in a why choose romance with very dominant and possessive male main characters. The female main character will not choose between the love interests.

DNF 35% in right at chapter 20. PLEASE understand I have eagerly been waiting for this book to come out. I have been snatching up every single book as it comes out since #1. I do recommend books 1-3, but I genuinely believe this series should have ended at #3. This would have been cool if this book had come out only as a cutesy novella of their after the drama life together. This series was funny, sexy, and interesting. By chapter 20 all that has happened so far is sex, summarizing the other books in different ways, and very extremely too cute makes-you-want-to-gag-after-so-many-scenes-per chapter moments. I love all of these characters, the magic, the found family, their kinks (except the blood play in this one. This type is my ick, but unrelated to my DNF I just skimmed that part.) and I did love the plot. However, how can this be the final book in the series and you’re just going to create a whole new drama problem with new magics and conspiracies after THREE whole books dedicated to getting to one bad guy. Then the end of the 3rd book ends with a totally random (MAYBE barely hinted at through other books) bomb that creates a whole new barrel of apples rotten can of worms type of situation that has seemingly had nothing to do with the other books until now?? On top of a new bad guy? Insane. I was willing to get past that, but oh my goddddd stop summarizing everything especially this deep into the book. It has been SO repetitive!!! WE KNOW. If we made it to book freaking 4 you can bet your ass we remember simple details like traumas and backstories. Not to mention the book literally starts with severalllll pages dedicated to summarizing each book??? I loved that this series started with troubled and traumatized individuals. I loved that they went through character growths. I loved that they all seemed to be truly healing, but I started this series because I like stuff to be dark. I really just do not want to read non stop cutesy cringey lovey dovey stuff. Hence why books 1-3 is good for me. I feel like the HEA already happened, and if book 3 had been barely a little longer it could have included the rest of the bonds before finally being done. I love that they are happy, and that they are comfortable together. To me that is the best way to end a series not start a book. I just don’t feel interested in continuing to read this final book right now when it genuinely feels like this could be a totally different series. Maybe I’m just too mentally unwell for so much cutesy love in a book LOL. Maybe I’ll try again another day. For now I’m going to pretend the first few chapters were actually the last chapters of book 3, and this book isn’t a thing. :-)

No spoilers as I know so many won’t be able to read this for a while.

I was so lucky to get an advance copy of this book from a signing event with Jaymin.

It was EVERYTHING I’d hoped for in the final book of the series. Although I did worry for while, I should have remembered Jaymin always gives us a HEA.

Loved this book!

4.5 ⭐️ 2.5 🌶️

Audiobook narration was 5/5, Duet like the other books and with sound effects so it really feels like you're listening to a movie but not as dramatic as a Graphic Audio.

We start off right where Book 3 ends, with some normalcy before the chaos of facing Jewels and the final battle/ curse shenanigans.

TLDR: I laughed, I predicted (almost all) the twists, I gasped and scared my husband (oops) and had the best of times. What a phenomenal way to end a series.

There are a couple lose threads left open that I HOPE Jaymin decides to write either a standalone (duology? I will read whatever you give us Queen) as a spinoff.
(Just read it to know what I am talking about...)

The epilogue having 4 parts as well as the bonus scene, all just had me kicking my legs at how cute it was. I was hoping for more insight to see if they will end up choosing to have kids or not, so again... SPIN OFF, SPIN OFF!!!! We need more shifter cities in our lives.

Add to your TBR if you like:
- shifters
- fated mates
- omegaverse (no knotting)
- He (They) Fall First (all at different times)
- why choose

Disappointed

I rated all the previous books in this series 4 ⭐️ but I cannot even finish this one. I read all the others within a day. But I’m at 34% and am DNFing. It’s not holding my attention in the slightest. I liked Emme is the previous books but she’s insufferable this book. Her mates aren’t much better. I think it’s the pace of this book as well, I’m 34% through and only two days have passed. Nothing with the plot has progressed at all. We meet her father at the end of the last book who is half witch/half shifter and yet we haven’t had a single scene between father and daughter after 100 pages. He’s just mentioned a lot. Anyways I’m disappointing because I liked the series but i won’t be finishing it.

This pains me because I genuinely loved this series… but this book did not need to exist.

It should’ve ended at book three. Spiritually, emotionally, canonically — in my heart.

This wasn’t a slow burn, it was a slow stroll. Nothing happens. And then nothing continues to happen. And then we pause to deeply explain things that absolutely did not require a TED Talk.

By the time the plot finally showed up near the end, I was already emotionally clocked out. Gone.

Still love the series. No regrets reading it.
But in my mind? It wrapped beautifully at book three and I’m choosing that reality. 😂

Aweeee I’m so sad it’s over!! I loved this series. I think it was so well done and this book was the first book I have ever read that has given me what I have been asking for which is more of the happiness after the big bad is handled. Like we got three epilogues of them just being 100% happy! I loved that!!

This does go to say - this book was not really 100% needed LMAO like totally this could have been added to the book prior or plotted out a bit better so we still got all of this (minus a bit that’s truly just fluff) but it was spread out through all the other books leaving the last book as the last. I say this because this was truly just the final two bonding, and prep for war (keep in mind this was in the span of a few weeks, no more than a month that is for sure) and then the big battle. IMO this could have been part of the book before this because it truly felt like a continuation because 0 time passed between the book before this and this one. It didn’t hinder the story for me in any way, but I just clocked it lol.

MY SINGULAR COMPLAINT is that Hunter didn’t get one on one time with Emme that we got to read about. His was always with others, and I wanted at least everyone to get an alone sesh. I think slade actually also didn’t get an alone sesh now that I think about it so that’s sad to me!

Spice was nice! Probs 3/5. I want to note, I JUST realized (at least I think) there’s no knotting in this series? How funny that I am just now realizing that hahah. Anyway I do recommend this series it’s a great omegaverse and done really well. You will love all of the characters deeply.

As I slowly come down from the adrenaline rush of reading the last book in this series that has kept me on the edge of my seat for every moment of this reading journey, I’m left with the feeling of not quite wanting the story to be over and to be saying goodbye to these characters that I’ve enjoyed so much.
So Jaymin please, pretty please, in between your future writing, find some time for Kassidy’s story - I feel like it definitely needs to be told and if we can get a Constantine story too, that’d be great - I’m all about the Daddy energy 😂
A Bond of Trust nicely wraps up the overarching storyline of the series while giving readers all the love, hugs and spicy times they could wish for - did I feel as though the book could have been a bit stronger without as many of the spicy times - yes, but I’ve come to expect extra spicy times being included in the last book in a whychoose series, so I got what I was expecting.
I would be thrilled if Jaymin Eve decided to return to the world of this series at some point - I definitely think I would love revisiting this world.
Honestly, I don’t quite know what I’m going to read next as at the moment, I’m just wanting to stay immersed in the world of Shifter City Fated Mates - I miss the characters already and I just finished reading.
Congrats on yet another great book Jaymin!

Absolutely loved this series!!

Emme’s story was so dang intense, I felt like I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through.

Now that Emme & her mates have taken care of Fletcher, they are trying to figure out how to take of Jewels. The witch who threatening all of shifter kind.

It’s a struggle because the witch always seems 5 steps ahead. But, with the help of her newly found father, Emme & her mates start digging.

The struggle is real trying to find her especially when they keep hitting walls.

But when they finally catch a break, we find out that she was hiding right under their noses & cursing friends to betray Emme.

That whole scene set up between Emme & her mates was rough because you could feel the pain they were all feeling.

Thankfully Emme was able to overcome the power trying to break her. And she and her mates finally got their happy ending they so deserved.

I absolved the many epilogues at the end especially the prank. And a part of me would’ve loved more of their future together, well after the dust settled.

But overall I really enjoyed this book & was so happy I was able to read it.

Amazing job!

3.5🌟 This was one of my most hyped reads for the year, the series is one of my favourite vibe reads ever, so I can’t believe it’s actually over! I love these characters and the journeys they went on to heal together so much. I’ve done multiple re-reads of each book and devour it each time, each one being a 5 star experience for me - until this one 😭

I found myself bored at times in this one, scan reading multiple scenes to get through it until I was engaged again. Sometimes it felt a bit like plot points were being forced or rushed through out of no where. Her father felt like a hurried, incomplete entity, and definitely could have been wielded differently for more of an emotional impact as I found myself not caring about him at all. Also I know Jaymin explained that the mind link meant no more group chat interludes, but some mind link ones over trivial stuff would have been good as I really missed those beats of humour/palette cleansers.

Despite all this, I still love these characters (SladeSladeSlade) and the world Jaymin created, and I am not too proud to beg for Kassidy’s book as I know I’ll eat that up!

Ok just… wow
Honestly, if I wasn’t going through other mental health things rn and other personal things I would have devoured this book in like one day… I seriously cannot believe this series is over😭I’m so incredibly honored and grateful for the opportunity to have been given this e-ARC, especially from one of my favorite authors that I had also recently met at a book signing ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!😆😭😆😭😆 I loved it SO MUCH😭 especially the last one🤡🤡👀👀😂😂 absolutely top tier, best one you’ve done yet for this story for sure, I loved the genuine reactions to it👌👌 I can’t preach about this book series an this author enough so yall are gonna just have to trust me and read it and all her other books too… do it now😌😌

𝙳𝚎𝚍𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 : This is for those who’ve always fought alone. You deserve an alpha to dote on you. Or a pack of them.

𝚃𝚛𝚘𝚙𝚎𝚜 : why choose | hair washing | shifters - wolf, bear, + dragons | witches | fated mates | banter

𝙵𝚒𝚛𝚜𝚝 𝚜𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚎 : The wheel was foreign under my hands.

𝙾𝚞𝚝 𝚘𝚏 𝙲𝚘𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚡𝚝 𝚀𝚞𝚘𝚝𝚎 : “He was talking about a dragon sandwich.”

𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗯 : they were better together than apart. The world may fall apart. So, they have to complete the bond. & finally, everyone is ready. With strength, they hope that they can be strong enough to save the life that they know. Can things ever be that easy though?

Emme. Sweet girl. The character development. The growth through herself and her pack. She’s so dang strong and inspiring.

Then we have the men. I’m sorry, Slade. I give you an A plus. You would’ve the one. I should’ve guessed. Finley. You’re still my guy. I just love your big cuddly side. Kellan, you ray of freaking sunshine. Talon. No words. You’re a winner. & Hunter, your tattoo will always make me smile.

I’m going to miss this family. A LOT.

If the first book lit the spark, the final book sets the whole world on fire in the best possible way. This is the kind of finale that understands the assignment: higher stakes, bigger emotions, brutal choices, and payoff that actually feels earned. Jaymin doesn’t hold back!

Everything that’s been building across the series comes crashing together here, secrets are revealed, loyalties are tested, and fate gets challenged in ways that made me both cheer and emotionally spiral. The character growth hits different soo satisfying; watching how far everyone has come and fills all the found-family vibes!

The action is intense, the magic is wild, and the emotional moments land right where they should. There are scenes that make your heart race & laugh through the pain in the best possible way. You're left starring at the page like, wow!! It’s messy, powerful, and so soo beautiful!

A bold, emotional, and wildly satisfying read. If you’ve come this far in the series, this book will wreck you a little, heal you a little, and leave you smiling when you close the last page. 🔥📚💫

⭐️⭐️⭐️½

Well. Colour me conflicted. I adored this series… until this instalment decided to take the scenic route and then circle back for another lap of “my alphas this, my alphas that” and bonding, oh look bonding. The emotional beats were heartfelt, and seeing the bond deepen was sweet enough to melt a shifter’s heart, but the story often stalled in endless reassurances and filler detail. When the action finally arrived, it landed more as a polite tap than a gut punch, though the unexpected betrayal did sting nicely. I had to speed the audiobook up to warp speed to not DNF this as tehre were just too many chapters that were filler and unnecessary.

The full cast brought their A-game (even if the pacing was slower than a sloth), but the book could’ve used a ruthless editor to trim the fluff and let the magic shine. Still, despite its bloated pacing, the ending tied things up beautifully and that counts for something.

honest opinion over here

I looooved the first two books, tolerated the third, and am not a fan of this one. I feel like it should have been a novella to tie in the last part of bonding.

I found myself skipping over *scenes* and hating the amount of over explaining, like it’s book 4. We understand everything that’s happened up until this point.

The constant never ending smut scenes and declarations of love and feelings, just felt like it took away so much of the plot.

As readers we understand the MMC’s are possessive, jealous, unalive people, etc. doesn’t have to be explained every chapter in depth. And the moment they should have been badasses, it just fell flat.

Lot of pointless filler chapters, a very predictable *betrayal*, and our FMC having a realization and coming into her own that felt very underwhelming and honestly eye roll worthy.

I love Jaymin and her vibe in her books. But this was just not it for me. A disappointing end to this series.

Honestly, after reading the whole series, I will say I enjoyed it. I don’t know if I will ever reread it again because I do have some hang ups about the previous books and how things progressed as far as character growth for the FMC and how she was repetitive with things, but I did enjoy this.

I don’t know which one of the guys is my favorite honestly I think I love them all, but I think my top three are the twins and Fin. Probably because the most work went into the relationship relationships with those three.

I don’t like how people were used against her in this book. I’m sure it was necessary for the story, but I just didn’t appreciate how she was blindsided yet again.

I also wish we got more of their futures and more of her relationship with her father. Overall, this wasn’t a bad series. I just know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I will say try it.

Amazing as Always!

A Bond of Trust delivers the perfect finale to the Shifter City Fated Mates series—fast-paced, emotionally charged, and full of the addictive chemistry Jaymin Eve is known for.

This final installment ties every loose thread with satisfying precision (I really want to a side story about what Cora & Warwick went through and Kassidy needs a series; please).

Jaymin Eve blends fierce loyalty, steamy naughty scenes, high-stakes danger, overwhelming unconditional love and the kind of heartfelt relationship connections that make an excellent fated mates drama.

The characters grow in ways that feel both raw and triumphant, and the romance hits that rare balance of tender and powerful. J.E. closes the series not just with plot finality, but with resonance—leaving you with the warm ache of saying goodbye to a world I wasn’t ready to leave.

After waiting for this book to come out, let me just say YASS SEEET BABY SLALON BABY SLALON😭😭

I am so sad to see this end. This book gave me all the cute romance smutty moments and it was just perfect ending to this series. I wish I had more of a glimpse into the packs life without stressed of jewels and the witches but the ending that was given is good enough to satisfy my need.

The story line was a little cliche but I enjoyed the pack interaction in between the series moments. I love that Constantine was there to be a family member for Emme and I am just so tickled about the amount of DP and sandwiches from the pack. Honestly the SLALON moments with emme was amazing but man talon really was stealing the spotlights.
The amount of highlights I have in this book alone is more than usually do. Plus I need a glimpse at kassidys life eith Henderson as well. PELASE.

Hmm

Well. I really loved this series but this one unfortunately fell flat for me. The beginning was really repetitive in their reassurances and my alphas this my alphas that. It just got to a point where I was like okay get on with the story, we get it they're perfect in every single way and you love them and they love you. Watching their bond grow and love for one another was precious but ultimately it was just a bunch of waiting around. When the big climax did happen, it was kind of disappointing. But my heart did break at the betrayal here and what had to happen. The way it all wrapped up was perfect though. Idk this one just fell flat but was still good if that makes sense.

I loved these characters and enjoyed the series so much so I'm disappointed not to have rated this book higher!

But for me there were a few gripes which meant I didn't quite enjoy it as much as the other books. Firstly, I cringed every time I saw the nickname sweet honey 😬 it just didn't sound natural! this book also felt like a massive overload on the spice and the devoted declarations of how Emme was more important than anyone else in the world... we get they're devoted to her but it just felt way too much in this book...

I did feel like the last 25% of the book was better and I'm glad Emme realised her strength and took out Jewels on her own!

still love the characters, just a few things meant I didn't enjoy it as much as the other books!

UGHHHHHHHH if I could rate higher than 5 stars I would because this deserves it. I can’t believe it’s the end. Don’t get me wrong - I’m beyond happy Emme and her guys got their HEA but also IM MOT READY FOR IT TO BE OVER. I seriously loved how this played out the HUGE twists???? OUCH. Considered my flabbers gasted.

I really just wanna thank Jaymin for an amazing book series. Truly. I’ve read this series about 4 times now after discovering it in early 2025.

This was the perfect end for the Reeves Pack. I loved the extra epilogues (I’ll take more - if you write more of them il devour it all) and this is my official request to have Kass’ story. I’d love more of this world. I want more of these characters. Thank you thank you THANK YOU.

There were parts of the book where I felt Emme could be a tad much with how possessive she was, but it was really great seeing her finally come into herself by the end. I loved watching Talon fully embrace the whole group, and seeing Slade realize that his dragon wasn’t going to hold him back from claiming Emme was genuinely beautiful.

Hunter and Kellen have been my favorites from the very beginning, so I was happy to continue seeing them shine. Even though we didn’t see much of Emme’s father, I appreciated that she brought him into her life and is trying to build a relationship with him.

Overall, I just wish this final book had been a little longer. It felt like there was more story left to tell, and I would have loved a bit more time with these characters before saying goodbye.

I can’t believe it’s finished! This series was such a good why choose with solid plot, little angst to keep you on the edge but a while lot of fun.

I can not recommend the audiobooks enough and was stoked that the final book was released with the E-book ( or sneakily even earlier)

Emme and her mates were perfection although my heart stopped briefly around 44… if you know you know.

Would recommend to anyone looking for an Urban shifter Why choose with low angst, a badass FMC who also gets in her feels, a whole lot of lovable mates and a solid overall plot.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Grouchy bear ended up being my favourite… who would have thought.
