Where You’re Safe

Rate this book
Kristen Bradley doesn’t recognize her life anymore. A relationship that leaves bruises—some visible, most not—has chipped away at who she used to be. Teaching fourth grade in Salt Ridge is the only steady thing she has left… until a routine traffic stop changes everything.

Officer Jason Rockwell isn’t looking to get involved. But one look at Kristen, and he knows something’s not right. And when her world finally shatters, he’s the one who shows up—steady, unshakable, and offering the one thing she’s never safety.

What begins with protection turns into something deeper. But love doesn’t erase scars. And trusting someone new might be the hardest thing Kristen’s ever done.

A swoony, emotional small-town romance about second chances, slow healing, and the kind of love that feels like home.

If you are looking for a clean romance, pick this one up. Such a cute read. Check trigger warnings there is a deep topic in this book.

heavily emotional

This book wrecked me emotional. I had to walk away 3 times in 20 minutes because I was sobbing so hard. This is one of those books that I will recommend without a second thought. There is only one other book that is an immediate recommendation. I highly recommend reading this with the warning of maybe have a box of tissues ready and don’t read during your time of the month lol

I had high hopes based on the blurb, and it had so much potential, especially at the start. For me, there were too many things but never quite enough detail to feel like I was immersed in the story. Some of the plot didn't quite make sense, and there were contradictions in a few places that pulled me out of the story.

The bones are definitely here, just didn't work for me.

Good Book but Some Issues

I enjoyed this book but there are more than a few parts that don't make sense and contradict what was written previously. That was annoying but it was still a good book.

It’s a decent book, but has some issues.
The romance is not “sweet”, but there is no explicit content.

Jason pulled over for a traffic stop and tried to help Kristen get out of a horrible relationship. He came and helped her when she needed to the most. He gave her comfort and security. Kristen and Jason had obstacles that they had to overcome but conquered through all of it together.
