Pamela Sykes has two very enthusiastic Brownie daughters, and she takes an active interest in the doings of a neighbouring pack. She lives in a large rambling farmhouse in Somerset, where she spends the greater part of her time looking after her family of three children-cooking, keeping house, gardening and driving to and from schools. What little time is left is filled with variety of hobbies, among them flying.
If you love "Come Back Lucy" in the US published as "Mirror of Danger", then you know that Alice wont have finished with Lucy yet.
The deceitful Victorian Alice is unhappy 2 years on, at the same time that Lucy is upset. Aunt Gwen has gone for tests at the hospital and all her fears from when Aunt Olive went to hospital and died are resurfacing. Alice once again tries to get her hooks into Lucy but is Lucy old and wise enough this time to resist her? Does Lucy want to stay with her very modern family enough?
There is a hint of what could happen in a 3rd book if one were written. I do hope that it has been, but there is so little information about the author Pamela Sykes on the internet. Does anyone know?
Not a review, but a plaintive cry into the wilderness for anyone who has a copy of this book. Would you lend it to me? I will pay for postage and treat this rare book so gently.
I would love to review this book but it has proved almost impossible to find. If anyone can provide some strong leads (or a PDF copy) I would be very grateful.
