Wong is a chi warrior and a master of weapons. While his skill and focus are unrivaled, a recent revelation has him shaken to the core. Demons and beasts roam the forests. They come with teeth, claws, masks, and swords. Wong is outnumbered and terribly outmatched. What can he do in the face of such odds? He can slay them. And he can bring a few friends along the way. This is a story of Shaolin warriors, monks, ninjas, sumos, and dark creatures of the night. They are bound by conflict, friendship, secrets, and an ancient prophecy that will change everything. Nonstop action at every turn. If you’re tired of reading books with hundreds of pages of scenery and fights that only last a few paragraphs, then this is the book for you!
Somewhere in what they used to call The Martial World, a boy is The Chosen One. He's been marked by demons, and he must be taken to the Shaolin Temple.
Various demons and monsters are out to kill the boy. Luckily, a not so rag tag group of martial artists are out to help the boy.
From there, there's a whole lot of kung fu fightng.
Hmmmmmmmmm............if you had the opportunity to watch the earlier Hong Kong fantasy movie genre, then this might be your cup of tea, coffee or whatever.............
As with any Asian fantasy novels, we have the righteous and undying hero, his numerous companions who inevitably dies for the party or left behind, but in the end comes back in the nick of time to fight the overwhelming Boss!!!!!
This one had potential, asian mythology is flashy, lots of convoluted plots within plots, so this series is a bit of a let down, the only thing that kept me reading is Kai and his supposedly mysterious ability, so yes Mr. Lee I do hope we have something flashier, dastardlier(?) and more mystical!!!
After reading quite a bit of wuxia, this was a nice change of pace. I do have to say that by the end I was hitting combat overload. Very good combat sequences. Unfortunately too much of them with no break.
The Mark is an extremely fun, rollercoaster of a book, with nonstop, fast-paced action. I stayed up long into the night reading this, repeatedly saying, "Just one more chapter." Intense is the only real word to describe it.
If you are looking to start a new reading adventure. Pick up the book ... You won’t go wrong with this book. It has everything you would want in an adventure.
