The story of the life and times of a young Cherokee woman and her courageous determination before, during and after the Trail of Tears exile of the Cherokee People. Told through the eyes of a sensitive storyteller, White Feather follows the historical facts of the removal of the Cherokee in 1838, at the same time giving the reader a view of the human experience by allowing us to participate. "White Feather came over the mountains and rode the wind alongside me...giving me a story to tell...her story."
My daughter and I enjoyed reading this fictional account of a Cherokee woman’s journey on what is known as The Trail of Tears. Im really glad we read this together versus is being something I handed off to her as it does deal with some difficult topics including an attempted rape.
I really liked this book! I love the Cherokee people and I fell in love with White Feather and her story. This book was great about the trail of tears, the trials and overcoming the trials.
