Great little short story, packed to the brim with suspense, action, and romance (with room for a very sexy scene). I was just sad that the piece wasn't longer so that the individual components could have been given more play--maybe starting before this story starts with them as defenders and lovers then the incident that separated them, segueing into the event of this story (lengthened to play up the action and drama and then more of their being reunited. But enough of that! It was a nice little gem, perfect for a between things or lunchtime read. Nice escape!
