The Truth is Contagious...the epic conclusion to the Contagium Series...
A mysterious virus has infected most of the world's population. This sickness transforms the living into violent "crazies" and eventually into the flesh-eating undead.
Orissa and Hayden have survived in this new harrowing world. They have watched heroes fall, lost friends, and waged war--both against the living and the dead. Now a new revelation will shake everything they have built and everything they believe...
After learning the shattering truth about the virus, Orissa and her friends discover a new enemy, more deceitful and more powerful than anyone or anything they have faced before.
And this time it's up to Orissa and Hayden to destroy the evil at its source and keep the lie from spreading. The truth is their mission and the truth is contagious.

If it wasn't already clear, I absolutely enjoyed reading this final book in The Contagium series. Emily Goodwin sure knows how to keep a reader on their toes. I wish she'd write a lesfic version of an apocalypse story... maybe the main character could be a Filipino Australian that's a zombie assassinating Alpha Ninja hahah!
In all seriousness, I loved the series because I thought Orissa's such a great character and seeing her honour grow from the first book to this final book was so satisfying. I wrote more but goodreads didn't save it properly when I went to post and I cbf saying all over again. But I loved this book... if you're into zombie apocalypses then I highly recommend this series.
This one had some quite gruesome moments in it. As the series progressed so did the icky-ness. More blood, zombies, crazies, and another death of a character. It was a hard scene that I didn't expect in its vividness. I really liked the resolutions of some things as this series drew to a close. Although, the city scene and dealing with wicked humans (that's as spoilers as I go!) was very rushed and was so critical yet so glossed over compared to other parts. When I first started this series, I was unsure about continuing but I am glad I did in the end.
I have been a fan if post-apocalyptic books for a while, and let me tell you. Its very hard to find a good story with a great plot line, well developed characters. And the most important. A book that will keep you at the edge of your seat. THIS IS IT!! This is seriously one of the best and most thoughtful series i have read. It contains so much detail and amazing storyline that its just unbelievable. I love love love it! The first 50 pages of the first book made me think that it would be rushed and boring series, but i stuck to it and i could not be happier. I am seriously so happy i got to read this series and experience this storyline with the characters. I wholeheartedly recommend this to everyone and anyone. Its worth it.

It's extremely hard to write this review without spoiling the story! I was so excited to be provided with an ARC, because I have been waiting for this book for so long! Since the release of the first book I have followed the story of Orissa and gang and have enjoyed every book so far! The third book in the series left readers with a major cliffhanger, which book 4 picked right up from. Emily Goodwin wrapped up the story of the Contagium Series in this final novel which had so many twists, turns, revelations and zombie-fighting along the way. Some parts of the book I found a bit incredible, but altogether it didn't detract from the story. Goodwin's writing in this final novel in the Contagium Saga was full of descriptive language and invoked emotions, which had me feeling happy, sad, angry and devastated all at the same time. As a huge fan of the Apocalyptic genre I 100% recommend the Contagium Series! Completely deserves 5 stars!
The truth is out and we can only hope that the truth is as contagious as the lie!!!
I loved it!!! The whole series is epic!! Orissa is still my fave zombie kick ass!! Such an emotional roller coaster ride with this one, we find love, we meet death, we are reunited and slapped with the truth. Fell in love with all the characters, they are real and if SHTF, they are the people you want to run into ;) lol
Thank you Emily Goodwin for this amazing series!!!
A very good read, taken me longer to read than the others as I didn't want to finish it. Sad that I won't be reading about Orissa's adventures anymore.
Will possibly contain spoilers. So I am so excited but sad to be done with this series. It has been a journey that I have found myself loving. The characters are just amazing in their own way. I had a few things that bothered me so I had to drop by rating down to a four and not a five like I hoped to rate it. We left off in book three we learned that Fuller knew what caused this virus and though he kept it quiet on his departure he decided to tell Hayden so Hayden wouldn't be kept in the dark. This doesn't sit well with Orissa of course. This group of survivors will know what it is made of and will do anything in their power to make sure their compound of families will be taken care of. Orissa will find herself back with a family member but we all know that with happiness will come heartache and of course a member of the team will be gone from them. This is where we see Orissa finally start breaking down and she is a strong minded person!! When Hayden and Orissa decide to meet the person they are told is alive and the cause of this it is a journey one they won't forget! Now the scene that goes down when these two get to their destination I felt it needed more to it. Though I can say the ending was my favorite part of this book, because it shows that no matter what is thrown your way if you are strong enough to survive and you have hope then everything will soon work out. I love how there is so much action within the book, there is never a dull moment.
Now what I had some issues with. Jason there is a scene with Jason and he is brought back to the compound. There is never any mention of him again. Second, what did they actually give Jason for him to act like that exactly? Orissa had an idea but she wasn't too sure. Three when the people were actually locked in the room how did the h.h.i.c. (head honcho in charge) know what everyone had planned? That made no sense to me. Four once Orissa and Hayden did what they set out to do why didn't anyone truly question them or say hey we are on your side inside of this hotel they were in. Other than those things it was an overall good book. One that I highly recommend if you like zombies, adventure, action, romance, family and a good dang plot!
I liked this series but still get aggravated with all of the grammatical errors. Not the best zombie series I've read but it is not the worst either. The author made me care about the characters (hated losing some of my favorites) and I did like that there was a satisfying conclusion. Was skeptical when I was three quarters of the way through this book and the gang still hadn't gone to New York, I was worried the end would be rushed. Thankfully it wasn't as bad as I'd feared, the meeting with Samael was way too short and easy. I'm glad this series was contained to four books, some series last way too long. Check out the Slow Burn series by Bobby Adair if you want to read the best zombie series (at least in my opinion) out there. Its very well written and thought out and the one I measure all zombie series to, unfair maybe but that's the way it is.
The problem with binging a series is it's hard to remember where one book ends and the next begins. That was the only thing wrong I found with these books. I read them too fast.
This book finds the group looking for answers. From the government. But first another exploration of the area to find more supplies.
I probably could have read another couple of chapters on how they managed to get their way across the ruins of New York City.
The finale of the book seemed rushed to me. In one chapter they get to where they're going and it's done.
Then again the justice they served was swift and beautiful.
The epic conclusion of the Contagium Series! Devastated to see this world go after all these years. The first zombie series I ever read and started the craze. More like a 3.5 Stars. The ending was rushed and seemed to just finalise within the last couple of chapters; especially after the epic buildup, reveal and struggle just to get to the "end point". The epilogue was also back and forwards and to me was like a different writing style compared to the rest of the book.
WOW, page 289 had me throwing the book against the wall when I read "He was cold and stiff" !!!!! it was an hour b4 I calmed enough to finish reading the page and of course I was pissed that I hadn't kept reading instead of gettin so worked up. I absolutely loved how the epilogue was written....don't think I could have thought of anything better. This is definitely a series I will be recommending to anyone who will listen.
This was really good. Few dystopian books really spend time on character development, but this one wasn’t bad. The characters seemed realistic (with a bit of over the top in the main character). Zombie scenes can basically be whatever the author wants and this went a bit overboard too. But the story was a good one
WOW! This series had me on the edge of my seat .Never new who would be next to die. I enjoyed the love Hayden and Orissa had for each other and every thing came to a great ending.
If you loved the first three book in the series you are going to fall heads over heels in love this the final fourth one. You final get to know all the secrets that have been kept from us that have been racking your brain since you read Contagious. I was very sad to learn that the series has comet to an end. But it has been a very good series to read. I enjoyed all the ups and downs of the story. Excellent book with great characters and a great plot. I was so grateful that this was the last book because if it was another cliffhanger I would have been antsy for the next one to come out.
Overall, the series was really good, the characters really grew in the series and I enjoyed the book fully!
I hate you Emily Goodwin... and I mean that in the best possible way. You have managed to break me time and time again! You make me care for these characters and then you kill them off with no remorse whatsoever (I'm lying. I'm sure you probably spilled more than a tear over their deaths too). The only thing that keeps me going is the hope. Not just the hope for the characters, but also the hope that you'll write more stories. I refuse to believe that it's all over! I'm going to cling to the belief that Emily will come out with an endless supply of short stories to fill in this hole in my heart. Novellas? Sequels? Spinoffs? I'm not picky. ;)
Having said that... 5 STARS!! 5 STARS!! 5 STARS!! The entire series has been beyond outstanding! Strong characters, an unforgettable story, thrilling action. It will haunt me for years to come. The Truth is Contagious was the perfect conclusion.
Contagious Chaos left off with a giant cliffhanger. Hayden and Orissa have been left with a huge amount of responsibility, but are they ready for it? There are deaths. I don't think that's a huge spoiler to say that. If there's one thing that can be said about Emily, it's that she doesn't shirk from her duty as an author. She makes the tough choices and kills when necessary. There are also some amazing new characters too, to balance things out.
Emily Goodwin has proven that she's an author to watch out for, no matter what genre to writes in. The Contagium series has a perfect amount of romance, and just enough gore to turn your stomach. If you haven't started the book yet, now is the perfect time to start!

First of all this book should come with a warning label and you have to come prepared. Once you start reading you won't be able to stop. So here are a few tips: -Clear your schedule -Have some snacks around because you might get nervous and if you're like me well when you're nervous, you eat. -Don't drink too much to avoid too many toilet breaks -Get rid of any distraction such as kids/husband/friends so you won't be disturbed.
On a more serious note, this book was a little bittersweet because I didn't want to say good-bye to all those great characters. No need to tell you that it is absolutely necessary to read all three previous books in the series to understand what's going on. I can't tell you much about the story without spoiling anything but if you enjoyed the other books, you'll just love this one. It starts right after the end of the previous book with the big revelation of how the virus was created and why. It's action packed - honestly EG you put your characters through the wringer - really emotional because some characters won't make it and let's not forget about the hot hot chemistry between Orissa and Hayden - god I love them as a couple !! So don't hesitate and get yourself a copy you won't regret it!! Thanks so much EG for the opportunity to read this book in advance because the wait was killing me and thank you for creating such a good series. I read that you might write more about the world of Contagium with different characters and cameo appearances of Orissa and Hayden. It's a great idea!!
I would give this book 6 stars if I could, Alex A fan from France

I have been a huge fan of this series from the beginning. Then we finally get the last two books in the series and I was so excited to read them.
After I read the beginning, which tells us how and why the virus was released, I really enjoyed the rest of the story. For me the reason for the virus was just so incredible, as in not credible, that I almost could not move forward in the book. I could believe that happening to another country or in some far future America but not in the current times. Maybe that is my failing. Don't get me wrong, I love dystopian novels, but this was a zombie love story, now giving me a rather unbelievable dystopian resolution to the story.
Fortunately I did move forward and got all the Rissa and Hayden I was craving, along with some serious danger and some very sad deaths.
I was sad to know I would not be hearing more Orissa and Hayden stories. In some places, especially towards the end, it felt a bit rushed. Whole days and adventures were skipped over and referred to in a few sentences. i would guess that for authors ending a long series their heads are in future projects and getting the series completed is a priority, along with pleasing the many fans of this series. It is one of the best ZA (Zombie Apocalypse) stories out there, with a great love story and many other characters we come to love and care about.
The other reviewers seem to be very happy about this ending and I seem to be alone in my incredulity regarding the beginning and hurried ending. And if you proceed beyond the beginning you, as a fan, will love the rest of the story. So yes, I recommend it. If you are a fan of zombies and/or post apocalyptic stories with a great romance, do read this series!
WOW what a ride abd wild journey. I felt like I experienced everything. It has been a long time since I read a zombie book like this and let me tell you....it didn't disappoint. Riss was an awesome heroin. She was badass. She was a female that could handle herself well, which she had training because her paranoid grandpa trained her in everything including archery, since she was little. Hayden is super hot. Their love is seriously inspiring! The worst part about this was the fact that it ended. I loved their team, Ivan, Brock, Jason, Rae, wade, Gabby, and everyone else. The supply runs were scary and super dangerous; they went on a lot. Humans were dangerous. The zombies consisted of the types; a1, a2, & a3's. They also called then gummies, crazies and zombies. The crazies were very dangerous since they weren't full blown zombies and were still able to think. They could weld weapons and everything. This book had everything. It was scary and had me freaking out but it also had me yelling along with other characters and crying when it called for it to Lol. This book is a MUST READ! The author definitely knows what they are doing. Just amazing. I will be reading more from this author. I hope they make more zombie stories in the future.
I absolutely love this book I really don't want it ever to end. I love how the characters have developed over the entire series they are given very 3 dimensional characteristics. I love how that even though they are experiencing a zombie apocalypse they are still able to find love and live somewhat of a normal yet always on alert live. The series was followed through seamlessly never a dull moment. I highly recommend this if you love zombies and romance combined that is a rare combination. The way the author was able to explain the reasonings behind the zombies and able to over come it even with a HEA. I was never disappointed with this series from cover to cover , and from book to book except I don't want a ending there I want no that is not right I NEED more from these fabulous characters. I was given a copy in exchange for a honest and unbiased opinion.
I was sad to see this series come to an end but also very happy that the final novel gave closure to Orissa, Hayden and their companions.
The ending was satisfying, avoided tying everything up too neatly with a bow and still left some unanswered questions. I like that the author has left room to still be able to return and 'play' in this Universe a little further. I hope to read more from Emily Goodwin's post-apocalyptic, zombie-verse.
I now feel the urge to go back and re-read the entire series. For me this is one of the more enjoyable zombie series I've read and to be honest, along with the Frater novels, one of the earlier zombie novels written by a chick that manages to balance genuine scariness and gore on the one hand, with good characterisation and relationships on the other.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This 4th and last book of the Contagion series, I am happy to say, covered any and all questions you had about the series. I really hate it when an author leaves a plotline hanging and ends the book; it's so irritating!!! anyhoo, this series is really well done and brings a sense of reality and the possibility that this could really happen; scary I know but with all of the world interested in the "possibility" of zombies whose to say it can't actually happen. Read the entire series, I did, and I came away from it with some new characters that I enjoyed meeting. enjoy this yourself.
Most.books in this genre leave the end up in the air. Not so much in this case as Emily Goodwin spun a back story strong enough to support the ending with little buyers remorse. The audience over all will be pleased as I was that there was a finality (even though I wish there were three more books in the series). She also set the stage for an awesome television show that I would definitely watch and I type this as I have a poster of Daryl and Rick on my wall next to side of the bed. The kids bought it for me for my birthday and my husband....what thirty something year old girls doesn't like zombie killers?
My heart breaks at the end of this series, it's been an emotional rollercoaster from the beginning, and I loved every minute of the journey with Hayden and Orissa. Fast paced amazing book, I just hate saying goodbye to these characters I consider to be my own friends, I laughed with them, cried with them, and I'm sad this was our last journey. Bravo Goodwin, it was a great ending :)
