Robert Amadou, Ph.D. (Ethnology, Paris VII University, 1984; Ph.D., Philosophy, Paris X, 1972; Ph.D., Theology, 1945) was a lecturer at the Université Paris VII-Jussieu. He was also ordained as a Syrian Orthodox priest and maintained an active presence in branches of the Martinist Order, the traditionalist wing of Freemasonry, and several Gnostic groups, while avoiding any formal leadership role.
