In 1598, Queen Elizabeth bestows the surname Pledger upon the man who accepts the perilous mission of acting as surety of England's agreements with other nations. This name follows the male lineage down to the end of the eighteenth century, eventually clocking the young Sebastian Pledger in great responsibility and great danger.

At the recommendation of a friend of mine, I immersed myself in this wonderful book by Author Riley St. Andish.

Although I am typically not a fan of historical fiction, I found that I truly enjoyed this mysterious story of the dark and sexy Sebastian Pledger. Ms. St. Andish has a great way with her writing style and attention to detail. Pledger completely pulled me in, wanting to keep turning every page lost past my bedtime.

I hope to read more of Ms. St Andish's stories in the future. Congratulations to her on this wonderful achievement!

I really enjoyed this story, and I am so happy that it was recommended to me by a dear friend. The characters and the writing are so well developed that I could really picture everything happening during my read.

Since finishing, I've loaned it to a co-worker who looks so tired this week from "staying up way too late to finish another chapter".

A+++++ all across the board! I loved this book! I was privileged enough to read an advanced copy and I can honestly say I was captivated immediately! This book has everything, drama, intrigue, adventure, mystery, and romance (and yes a bit of sex) with the paranormal interwoven into the background. I love these characters! Pledger is certainly the definition of the ultimate "Prince Charming," that (I would think) most women merely dream about! I am especially fond of Felicity. She is beautiful and strong, yet vulnerable and relatable in her flaws and insecurities. Great book! I highly recommend it! Thank you Riley for writing this intensely imaginative and beautifully written story!

At a friend's behest, I decided to pick up the pages of 'Pledger' by Riley St. Andish. Not usually a reader of romantic fiction, I was surprised to find myself enjoying the novel. The historical research Ms. St Andish did in writing this work is evident from the first page and I would liken her attention to detail to that among some of my favorite historical fiction writers - Dorothy Dunnett and Philippa Gregory. I dare not spoil the book or outcome for anyone who hasn't had the joy of reading it yet, but I will say that 'Pledger' was a pleasant delight for me in many ways. I look forward to reading more from St. Andish and seeing what new treats she has planned for her audience.

When I first started this book, I did not know what to expect, but it was intriguing and started to capture me. A mystery filled with passion and romance.

In Pledger, Riley St. Andish has crafted a beautiful love story with a strong intelligent, sensual woman and a handsome mysterious man that come alive as the reader is treated to the many twists and turns that keep you wanting more.

I would think Jane Austen fans would love this.

This is mystery book. It beings with a very successful businessman and a leader of important missions for the crown. After a mission goes horribly wrong, Sebastian Pledger narrowly escapes with his life. Pledger must go underground. He moves to England and changes his name to Frederick Sterling and seeks a wife. He meets a young, beautiful, talented woman named Felicity Freeswick. He wins her heart and they begin their married life together. Soon Frederick Sterling is aware that there are people out to kill him and steal the jewels of England. Three words that are important in this story is “tragedy, trouble and triumph “. I very moving story.

Riley St. Andish will captivate you and draw you into Pledger from the very first page. Sebastian Pledger demonstrates amazing will to survive as he escapes captors and flees to safety. The real challenge begins as he reinvents himself and begins to rebuild his life, all the while, longing for the stunning woman from his dreams and staying determined to find her.

The newly defined Fredrick finds himself in the picture perfect Fountainhead Estate in Oxfordshire, England. The sweet mystery dream woman ends up coming true in the flesh. As the two begin their life together, the mysterious Frederick's secrets begin to unfold.

Whether a historical fiction lover or not, any reader will love Pledger and all of it's amazingly developed characters. This book is a must read!
