‘Get better every day’ – our life is in our hands: an inspirational philosophy
Missouri author Chuck Cuda, founder and Principal Broker of OPES Commercial Real Estate, and OPES Charitable Foundation, provides a most inspirational book. Both a fine memoir of his childhood, gambling addiction, serving 4 ½ months in Leavenworth for refusing to testify against his friends involved in illegal online betting, and the lessons learned there that impacted his life trajectory, resulting in his extraordinary growth, leadership, wealth, and compassion. ‘‘This book is not just about financial success. It’s about aligning your life with what truly matters and finding harmony between personal and professional fulfillment, even while building businesses and wealth.”
On every page he offers memorable messages and guidance: ‘Being the victim is easy. It’s lazy,’ ‘The trajectory of your life is determined by how you choose to view adversity’, ‘Your legacy is built every day,’ ‘Your life is in your hands.’ ‘Ego strength is the capacity for self-awareness, resilience, and personal growth.’ And the power of his writing creates a profound appreciation for resilience in becoming our best person, as he offers such insights as ‘This isn’t working – I need to change it’ and ‘doing what’s necessary to reach your full potential.’ So many meaningful moments that encourage building the ego strength of the title. A treasure for all of us!
Reading this book made me reflect on how important it is to learn from your mistakes without letting them define who you are. The author does not try to be a hero, quite the opposite. He shares his failures with complete honesty, and that really resonated with me. We all go through tough times, but not everyone has the courage to face them and grow from the experience. This story reminded me that true strength is not about never falling, it is about getting back up, again and again, even when it feels like no one believes in you.
The way the author talks about taking full responsibility for your life really stuck with me. It is a powerful message, if you do not bet on yourself, who will? What I liked most is that the book does not try to be perfect, it is raw, real, and incredibly motivating. It shows that personal growth does not come from comfort, but from struggle, reflection, and the decision to keep moving forward no matter what. That is what makes this book so valuable.
This book came into my life at just the right time. I often feel overwhelmed and find it hard to identify what I truly want, which leads to frustration. However, this book offers unique and practical tips to help discover one’s true calling and begin building a meaningful legacy.
What I appreciated most is how it encourages you to slow down, be reasonable, and develop a healthy sense of self-confidence. It’s not just a book you read, it’s one that speaks to you and guides you gently through your inner world.
I highly recommend it to anyone looking to reconnect with themselves, gain clarity, and start creating a life with purpose and direction. It’s a powerful yet simple read that can truly shift your mindset.
I really like the approach of this book; it encourages us to work on ourselves. To believe in ourselves, to have confidence in ourselves and our worth. It not only teaches us this, but also about resilience and the reinvention of our being. The fact that this book is based on the author's own story lends a lot of credibility to the book. Although it's his own story, it doesn't feel like an autobiography, but rather a resource to teach us about each of his defeats and also his triumphs in the area of believing more in himself. Definitely a book worth reading and always keeping in our thoughts, as with this, we will lead to a better life.
This book is too inspiring, but I must say that I felt somewhat identified. Like Chuck, there were many problems in my life that made me stronger and from which I actually got a lot out of to be where I am. This book, more than being an overcoming book, is a complete exposition that growth is where we least think. Few people think that those who suffer too much are the ones who end up achieving success and look at nothing else, the power lies in knowing how to re-channel everything that comes to you towards better circumstances. I believe that society owes a debt to this book, because it would do more than one person a lot of good to start changing their perspective on life. Highly recommended, there is no way to regret this reading.
This book truly spoke to me, what I liked the most is how it talks about fighting through doubt, failure, and fear to find my own power. The author’s personal story is honest, bold, and full of real emotion. I felt like I was walking with him through every risk, every fall, and every win. What I liked most was how unfiltered the writing felt. It’s not a perfect path, but that’s what makes it powerful and amazing. It reminded me that resilience isn’t about never falling, it’s about standing up with resilience. It’s real, it’s brave, and it made me feel stronger after reading it. I recommend this book if you’re looking for motivation that feels human.
I really enjoyed reading this book because it bares the author's soul. Many times, we see how far business people have come and we think it was a stroke of luck or that what they achieved was given to them as a gift. However, in this book, we can appreciate what a person really goes through, the obstacles they face and the strength it takes to get out of the comfort zone and move forward in life. The chapters are long but agile, making it a simple and quick read. I like that a lot, I usually find it tedious when the writing of a book doesn't flow. This is the first time I have chosen this author but his style met my expectations, so I will keep him in mind in the future.
When I started reading a little bit about Chuck's story, I just thought, how feasible is it really for one person to accomplish so much in his life? That he can do so many things? Well, by the end I understood that behind a huge success there are huge sacrifices, challenges, high points that build you as a person. The essential learning is really to understand that we can not give up despite the number of obstacles that arise, Chuck was a person who found the momentum in the problems and that is where we must grow, in the difficult moments. An example of overcoming and conviction to take advantage of opportunities.
Powerful and easy to read and connect with. I like this resilient story of something life changing happening to the character and use it to grow as a person instead of becoming a victim or giving up.
This idea the author shares about being strong on the inside and not letting hard times break you, I really like. Although it can bend you, not allowing that to go for the next step.
A very easy to read book, especially recommended for those going through challenging moments or trying to spice up their life.
To sum up, a great read for business people, but also perfect one for anyone looking for a purpose.
