Vermakelijk en kort boek (ik heb alleen de Droom gelezen), waarin de hypocrisie van de Russische adel aan het licht komt. De spottende toon waarmee Dostoevsky te werk gaat is erg leesbaar en zelfs grappig. Zeker niet zijn beste werk, maar toch zeker de moeite waard (3.5/5).

In het Nederlands zijn deze verhalen onleesbare troep. Het is belachelijk hoe slecht de vertaling is. Ik zou iedereen aanraden om Dostoevsky in het Engels te lezen of in een andere taal die je machtig bent, indien daar de vertalingen wel beter zijn.

mooie en grappige weergave van de krankzinnigheid waar een mens kan door bezeten zijn, zowel in zijn tijd als vandaag de dag (de droom)
