Do It Again

Rate this book
*an erotic novella, intended for an adult audience*

The only thing better than a hot vacation fling is the chance to Do It Again. Roula's free-spirited appetite for life combines once again with Nick's quiet passion to set fire to another week together.

Two years separated Nick and Roula from their first magnetic connection. Those same two years saw each struggle, but also refuse to break the "no-contact" part of the good-bye deal. Those same two years pass before they find their chance for a hot replay.

Stealing the week away from the rest of the world, the two travel on whatever whim they feel. From mountains to islands to deserts, the two soak up every kind of connection and experience they can together, challenging themselves to get as much out of the week as possible. After all, most of the fun is in the journey. The destination, however, can be equally alluring.

This story is about a guy Martin who takes his friend Nick on vacation after a NIck's nasty divorce so his friend can have some fun. Then you have Abby and Roula who are on vacation celebrating the fact they graduated college and are getting ready to hit the real world. Nick and Roula hit off which leaves Martin and Abby alone together to get to know each other. Martin and Abby neither one want to start anything on while vacation because they know they are going to separate sides of the country after this one week, but sometimes you can't fight attraction.

Martin and Abby's relationship starts straight out of a fairytale, but when the vacation is over real life slaps them in the face and they realize that it won't be as easy as they thought. They both want the same things but sometimes fate has a way of having them make hard decisions that may tear them apart if they let it. They take you on one heck of a ride.

This book had me completely enthralled from the first chapter. Kemmie Michaels writing is beyond amazing. While reading this story her writing had me feeling all kinds of different emotions. I was happy, sad, mad, and everything in between. I wanted to reach into the book and hug the characters, but I also wanted to reach in and slap them. It will keep you turning pages just to see what happens next and have you praying that Martin and Abby don't screw things up. I would Highly recommend this book to anyone that wants about true love and struggles that can come with it.

This book also includes the novella Reconnection which I would also give a 5 star rating to. The whole way through His Muse my mind kept wondering what is going to happen with Roula and NIck. I am so glad she decided to include this because otherwise I would have been left wondering. I was completely surprised by what takes place with them. I laughed a lot during this book which was a nice easy read compared to the emotional ride I went on during His Muse. Both books are worth reading!

I loved Abby & Martins Love Story. The way they met, how they were drawn to each, the similarity’s they have and how they could stay apart even though, they were so close! Every place they were brought them to a more intense love. I would definitely recommend this book!

**BETH'S REVIEW**

*3.75 Stars*

His Muse is a really nice romantic story of two people who were brought together by chance but ended up falling in love, it’s a story showing that if it’s true love, it doesn’t matter how much time two people have been together, they are in love right from that very first moment, even though they don’t realize it. It also shows that it doesn’t matter the distance, if two people are in love and it’s meant to be, they will find a way to make it work.

Abby and her friend Roula go off to St. Lucia to celebrate graduation. Upon arriving there they meet up with Martin and Nick, who are there to get away after Nick going through an ugly divorce. Nick and Roula hit it off immediately and have a vacation fling leaving Martin and Abby to spend time together. Martin and Abby hit it off right away, the enjoy spending time together and are at ease just talking with each other but as the week passes the feelings build into more and they finally give into the passion spend their last day and 2 nights, knowing that when they get on the plane to leave, they will never see or contact each other again.

But upon having to go their separate way back to their real everyday lives they realize they just can’t end it with a goodbye so they promise to try to make it work. But living on opposite ends of the country, with no real way to be travelling back and forth on weekends to see each other, they struggle make this work. I really wanted them to work out, their love is the love you dream about finding, that one love. But like any long distance relationship they truly do struggle to make it work.

Upon returning home, being in the music industry who likes to compose music, finds himself filled with music and must write it. Abby is not only the woman he loves, she is his muse. After being with her, his thoughts just make the music come to him. But they soon realize in order for these them to be together, one must be willing to give up their current life and start over, but can one of them do that, only after a week, pick up and move across the country not know if it will even work.

Once we see how their story truly plays out, we get to see how the rest of Nick and Roula’s story play out in the novella, Reconnection, that is included at the end of the book. I did enjoy reading their story but I didn’t find I connected to these two characters enough to have the need to want to know the rest of their story but did enjoy the novella.

Overall I enjoyed the storyline of Martin and Abby’s love story, it had great potential but found in spots it falling flat for me. I also found parts of the story to have lot of filler. Some parts, the time line of the story dragged out for me and found myself trying not start skimming those parts. Also, I know this is fiction but found some parts to be a bit unrealistic even for fiction. I did enjoy the storyline and the author’s writing so this definitely won’t be my last book to read by Kemmie Michaels.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Kimmie Michaels you can go ahead and stand up right now because I am giving you a standing ovation. This book blew me away. What a fantastic book like nothing that is out there. I was so honored to received a ARC of this book. Since I hadn't heard nothing about the book, I want not sure what to expect. This book was better than I could have imagined.

Abby is on vacation celebrating her college graduation with her friend Roula. Martin in on vacation at the location with his friend Nick, who is getting over his divorce. When the book started I thought this story was going to be about Nick and Roula and their relationship. I was pleasantly surprised it turned out to be about Abby and Martin. While we see a great del out Roula and Nick, they are secondary to the real story here.

Abby is an independent women who is trying to get her foot in the art world. She is a talented artist. Abby lives and works in Boston. Martin is musical composer. He is more established than Abby because he is several years older and already more established. His work is in California.

As much as Abby and Martin try to fight it, they have something amazing building. In their week together, they spend all their time together. Even at one point sharing a hotel. What starts off as just a friendship by default becomes so much more. Abby and Martin know that their real worlds are so different. They are 3000 miles apart. The are in different point in their lives. There is a age difference. Nothing seems to keep the inevitable from happening. They are falling in love, no matter how much they don't see it.

This is such beautiful story bout 2 people who try their hardest to make their relationship work. It is not easy. Just like in real life, there are every day obstacles that occur that try your relations. Work, doubts, distance, friendships will put their relationship to the test. Long distance relationships are hard.

While you are reading this book, you will be pulling for Abby and Martin. From page one I rooted for them. They completely complement each other. There is a once in a lifetime love there.

And if their story wasn't enough, Kimmie gives us novella bout what happens 2 years later when Roula and Nick see each other again. Their relationship is so different from Abbie and Martin's. Roula is rich and outgoing. Fun is her middle name. Her time she spent with Nick has changed him. He is no longer sad and depressed. He is living again.

When the couple sees each other again will sparks still be there?

Kimmie Michaels you have a new fan. I can't wait to see what you write next!!

"They were an enchanted pairing, whether or not their time together ever turned physical."

After seeing his friend, Nick suffer through a horrible divorce Martin plans a trip to St. Lucia to help him forget. The trip is solely for Nick to try to move on from his witch of an ex wife. Abby and Roula just graduated from college, to celebrate Roula's parent's foot the bill for a trip to St. Lucia. Nick meets Roula at the resort and these two fall into immediate lust, leaving Abby and Nick either to spend their vacation alone or together. Neither of them are really interested in having a fling, but have an instant connection. Their chemistry and attraction to one another is undeniable. It gave me goosebumps reading about these two.

"Having a muse makes it happen. I swear, everything I write is yours."

Martin and Abby are both artists in their own sense. Even someone who is not an artist knows how important a muse can be. Abby inspires Martin so much, he is a composer and I can picture him playing his music and can almost hear how beautiful it must sound just by the description. The love and admiration these two share for one another inspires each of them tremendously. The only thing that is really coming between the two is distance. I am not going elaborate any further on their relationship because I do not want to ruin the book for you! I really enjoyed this book, it was a little overly descriptive but I did enjoy the overall stroyline. Martin was perfect gentlemen, I could only imagine how important and special he made Abby feel. Every woman deserves to be treated this way. Men should probably read this book and take some notes LOL!

"And like an adorably domestic couple, they worked seamlessly together in the kitchen. On vacation or running the day to day of a home, Martin and Abby were two halves of a whole."

This book also had a sequel novella, Reconnection . I loved reading more of Nick and Roula's story. Roula was my favorite character of the book, even though she wasn't the main character and I appreciated the novella and getting to know her a little bit better. I was gifted a copy of this book, for an honest review and I honestly really enjoyed the book and recommend it to anyone that loves a good romance story. Kemmie Michaels write beautifully!

I had the pleasure of reading an advance copy of this novel and I must say it was beautiful and quite different from the other books I've read. Kemmie has a lot of imagination going on in that brilliant mind of hers.

Martin Daniels and his best friend, Nick, are on vacation to celebrate the ending of Nick's divorce. Martin wanted Nick to let loose and have a good time, he never expected to meet someone himself.
Abby Flynn and her best friend, Roula, had just graduated art school and were there to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter of their lives. Abby was not there to find her soul mate or even someone for the week, but she knew Roula was there to be adventurous. And as expected, Nick and Roula hit it off when they were all introduced to each other. That left Abby and Martin figuring out what they were going to do the rest of the week, knowing there was no separating Nick and Roula. Neither of them were looking to find romance with anyone as they were there just to enjoy the time away from every day life. As they got to know one another feelings were changing, but they both were fighting the urge knowing the week will be over soon. Finally they couldn't fight it anymore and things exploded.....in a good way.

What happens when vacation ends and they have to go their separate ways? Will Martin and Abby be able to make it living on opposite ends of the country?

"His Muse" has a different feel to it. It's romantic, intriguing and sweet, but it's also heart breaking at times. I fell in love with Martin and Abby. The way the just....fit. The connection they have is beautiful. Kemmie also blessed us with a novella at the end of the book that you just cannot pass up. Nick and Roula are perfect for each other. They're spontaneous, fun, exciting & adventurous. I could go on & on. I totally loved them and they made me laugh out loud.

Kemmie, I really enjoy your way of writing, because it's different and I love that. I cannot wait to see what you come up with next.

This was a refreshing story that was great from start to finish. It wasn’t an instant love story where the two main characters fall in love at first sight but it goes deeper than that. Abby and Martin were in some way forced to spend a week vacation together when their friends end up shacking up! I loved reading as their relationship built. Neither of them was really looking for any type of fling or relationship while away but over time as they got to know each other they realized how much they had in common. They really were attracted to each other and truly fit together like pieces of a puzzle.

They both had individual professional goals they wanted to accomplish and lived states away. A relationship really wasn’t in the cards for them but as a reader I found myself pulling for them. I knew they had more than just an attraction and their connection was much deeper. I wanted them to make it. They did try their hardest at a long distance relationship talking on the phone as much as possible. Life has a way of catching up to us though and making distance a struggle.

Abby was Martin’s inspiration….His Muse! She breathed musical life into him and it amazed me at how much more he could accomplish with her around and in his thoughts. He also tried to do things behind the scenes to help get Abby a job where he was so that they could be together. Just like the characters in the book we in our own lives have to realize it’s not where we are living and where our jobs are but who we need to be with that we should focus on. Sometimes we must pick up our lives and move to be with the one we love because that is where our heart is. It may take some a day, a month or even years to figure it out but hopefully one day we will all get to that point!

I truly enjoyed this story and loved getting to read more about Nick and Roula, who had more of the hot and steamy whirl wind romance. We get a little of their story in His Muse but get so much more in the novella Reconnection at the end of His Muse. They have such ‘firecracker’ passion towards each other…it’s amazing!

Well, I can definitely say that this book is unlike anything I have ever read before. I had no idea of what to expect going into this story but I found myself nose deep into it. This isn't you typical boy meet girl and they fall in love and live happily ever after kind of story. It's about two people who are brought together unexpectedly and build a bond of friendship that yes leads up to the happy ending.

Abby and her best friend Roula head of to St. Lucia for celebration of graduating and Martin and Nick are there to help his best friend Nick forget about his divorce. When these two couples meet, Roula and Nick connect instantly for a week long no strings attached fun. That leave Abby and Martin to come together and hang out too. Both aren't looking for relationships so they form a friendly bond that brings them close together but then their attraction hits full force and it cannot be stopped but then what happens after they leave the island?

My heart broke for Martin and Abby who try the long distance relationship. They talk as much as possible and rarely see each other but they continue to make it work. As time goes is it enough to make it through or does their relationship come to and end. Such an emotional story but also lots of love and laughter. You will love the journey that Abby and Martin take to finally be happy together.

Also, after years of not communicating Roula and Nick reconnect from their passionate week in St. Lucia. How will they feel when they see other again? I love Nick and Roula as a couple. I secretly hoped that they would end up together. You'll just have to see for yourselves :)

Kudos to Kemmie Michaels for writing a story of meeting the person you're meant to be with, a story of overcoming the odds and distance and finding a way to be with the person who owns your heart. Martin and Abby share such a deep bond and the way Kemmie portrays their story using beautiful descriptions that allow you to visual and feel like you are part of the scene is amazing. There were times I felt like I was hearing the songs Martin was composing because she described it so well. I felt I could see the drawings as Abby's hands were drawing them. Martin and Abby were the perfect couple to read. I spent the entire book routing for them to overcome the odds and find their way to each other at the end. I wanted to hug them through the down times and celebrate the happy times with them. And I can't forget the intimacy between them--Kemmie writes some scorching scenes, but they aren't like I've read in any other book. She is a true wordsmith and her description took me to places I've never been before.

Her sequel novella which gave me more Nick and Roula was perfect. I loved the fun of them in His Muse, but I knew they had more to give. The novella was a perfect way to tie up the questions I had burning in my brain about them. Roula is fun and spirited and everything Nick needed to pull him out of his funk. nick is mature and handsome and everything she needed to ground her.

I can't say enough good things about Kemmie's writing and I can't wait to read more from her!

Every woman's dream... I think this is the most ideal love story ever written. College graduation trip to a Island Paradise yes please. The story of Abbey and Martin. I thought at the beginning of the story that it would be all about Nick. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't.

Martin was the sweetest and most considerate man even though he was 8 years senior to Abby he didn't try to take advantage of the situation and make it in his favor. He was patient and waited for her to come to terms with her feelings for him.

Abbey, the sweet artist that was in St. Lutia for a graduation trip with Roula before life really began. Little did she know that life was really about to begin and Martin was the one that it was going to be with.

It's so hard to write this review without a spoiler but, here it goes. The trip carries over into real life and the battle of the long distance begins. My heart broke for sweet Abby. She was so torn between career and love. I wanted to scream through my nook and tell her to just follow him to California but, she didn't. At the peak when they finally figured out that it wouldn't work I was so sad and wanted them to realize it was a mistake and make up. In between there was a lot of extra description I could have done without. I was happy how this book ended and I'm so glad that they both saw the light and there was a Happily Ever After. Even for Roula and Nick too....

"He held the paper displaying Abby's music in his hands, the hands she loved so much, and he knew. Abby was his muse."

Abby and Martin meet while on vacation on St.Luce's. She is there for a graduation celebration with her best friend Roula and Martin is there with his best friend Nick, who is trying to get over a nasty divorce. Abby and Martin are thrown together when their two friends have a tryst for the week. They try to deny any feelings but by the end of the week they succumb to them and have an amazing weekend together before they part ways. But neither of them thought they would develop such strong feelings for each other. The hardest thing for them to do is part ways at the end of their vacation, but that is what they do, with the promise that they will figure it out.

You are so beautiful Abby. Everything about you is so beautiful. It would have been wrong to miss this."

After weeks of only phone conversations and missing each other immensely, Martin gets the chance to travel through work to see her. After a week together, Abby starts to question what they are doing. Can they really make this work being across the country from each other. Martin is certain they can by Abby isn't. Can the two of them make a long distance relationship work, is there a way to be together, or are the doomed because of factors they can't control?

I have given this book 5* but please be aware this is a very different type of book than most I have read and reviewed. I usually thoroughly enjoy my high drama romance novels but this is very different. This is an enjoyable, relaxed romance with some steamy scenes.

Are you looking for a romantic love story without drama and hysteria? Are you sick of reading the same drama filled books and looking for a break from that. I have just found the book for you .... This is an amazing Love story about love and passion! Here is a story about a couple who never expected to find love with each other and when they find each other they struggle to decide which path is best for them both as individuals and as a couple.

Its a refreshing novel which focuses on the union of two people which has the adult context within it. This is more fitting real life situations than most of the stories currently out there. His muse makes a refreshing change. I love the fact that the characters are so realistic and true to real life. Kemmie does an amazing job in showing you there personalities as individuals but also showing you the effect they have on each other.

His Muse is beautifully written with a slow paced storyline that had me rooting for the main characters each turn of the page.

Martin's best friend Nick is recovering from a bitter divorce. The two take a much needed vacation to St. Lucia. There they meet Abby and Roula who are on vacation to celebrate their recent college graduations. Nick and Roula instantly hit it off and spend the rest of their vacation wrapped up in each other. Leaving Martin and Abby no choice but to spend time together. They spend the week getting to know each other and fighting the attraction they both so deeply feel. At the last minute they both decide they can no longer deny the desire they feel. Things steam up for the last portion of their vacation but what happens when they part ways?

His Muse by Kemmie Michaels is a different style of writing then I am used to. It's much slower paced for one, but I do not mean that in a bad way. I think we all know someone is more introverted and quiet. Someone who takes their time thinking through every move they make in life? That's how Martin and Abby were for me. Two Artistic souls with no need for useless drama, trying to make the best life decisions they can. Overall I enjoyed this story and look forward to what the author comes up with next.

This is such a sweet, romantic and sexy read. I absolutely loved every minute of it.

Abby is such a sweet and innocent girl. I loved that once she met Martin she discovered a whole new side to herself. I loved that being with Martin and just talking to him taught her to be stronger. It helped her to not fear the world and to jump in and not give up.

Martin was just memorable. Such an amazing man. I loved and adored him. He was so strong and loving towards Abby. As soon as they met they were instantly comfortable to be together and that grew into something more. He is definitely a man you’d do anything for. I love how he takes control and worships Abby. His song he wrote for her was just amazing, that he could use a week with a girl and write a song for her.

I was drawn into Abby and Martins relationship. They were an amazing couple. I felt so bad for them that life kept throwing them curve balls and they were having to fight overtime to hold on to each other. It’s not easy being in a long distance relationship, so my heart definitely broke a few times. Want to find out if these two amazing people will find a way to stay together? Well make sure to check it out because it’s worth reading.

3 1/2 stars from Kota for Kota's Book Kollection

"This story follows Martin and Abby, while they find their way along their path to happy ever after. This path is full of obstacles, the biggest being distance – they live on the opposite side of the country to each other. Will they manage to make the long distance thing work?

This is the first work by Kemmie Michaels that I have read and I would have to say that while there is absolutely nothing wrong with Ms Michaels work – it is not my cup of tea.

This story is a love story, Martin and Abby have a very intense and strong connection. They are also both artists in their own right, so they come together in a truly sensory way.

Unfortunately though, I personally found this story tedious. The plot was simple and pure – but could have been told in half the time. I found the descriptive nature of the writing repetitive and overdone. I understand the picture Ms Michaels is painting via her use of words, but with so much description there was no room for my imagination to be engaged. Given the simplicity of the plot, this level of detail made the story drag for me." ~ Kota

This book starts with friends Martin and Luke meeting friends Abby and Roula while both sets of friends are on vacation in St. Lucia. Luke and Roula are looking for a vacation hook up. They end up spending most of their vacation together. By default Martin and Abby spend their vacation together. Martin and Abby aren't looking for a vacation hook up but their attraction to each other is to much to deny.

I loved this story. It isn't a love at first sight book. As we read the story we get to see Martin and Abby relationship grow, blossom, and overcome obstacles. I loved the fact that Martin was not a rock star but instead he is a piano player. Kemmie Michaels did a great job making piano playing sexy.

As I was reading, I was hoping that we would get more of Roula and Luke's story. We do get more of Roula and Luke in Reconnection. Reconnection is a novella that is included in the book. It was great to get more of Luke and Roula and we didn't have to wait for it.

His Muse is a sweet read. It is definitely a good read.

I absolutely adore Kemmie Michaels! Her stories are always so unique and yet all have a certain sweetness that just makes me smile SO BIG! This story, of Martin & Abby (and Nick & Roula) did not disappoint. : ) The connection Martin & Abby have right from the beginning is so cute! They aren't looking for a hook up like Nick & Roula. But as time goes on, they can't deny there is -something- there between them. The crux of this story is them trying to work out the long-distance aspect of their relationship, and that is the only thing that annoyed me about the story. I desperately do not like when the H/h aren't together in scenes. It just pulls me out of the story - but in this case, it WAS the story, so I gave it more slack than I normally would, and was able to continue enjoying the book. :) The connected novella at the end, giving us more of Nick & Roula's romance, was the perfect addition.

This story makes me want to give out *hugs*!

I received this book as a gift for a fair and honest review! I love this! It is my first time reading this author and became a instant fan! Do it again is a novella but is packed with hotness! Was so easy to get lost in the story of Nick and Roula, I fell in love with their characters. This book was down right sexy. Who wouldn't want a hot vacation with a sexy man and be able to relive it over again! I'm not going to give anything away, but this was a great, sexy read. It also shows you a magnetic connection can stay strong even when separated for two years! I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.

Nick and Roula are that couple that so many of us wish we could be... fun, uninhibited, willing to explore. This novella is jam packed with emotion and will leave you reeling with a huge book hangover. Nick and Roula had one week of complete passion. They were completely devoted to showing each other a good time and that was the end of it. But, what happens when their paths cross two years later? This novella will take you on the emotional roller coaster that many fully written novels can't do. It will make you laugh, cry, scream--want to shove the characters into each other. Wonderfully written Ms. Michaels.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for His Muse. This is the first book I have read by Kemmie Michaels and it will not be my last. I Loved it! It is different from other books I have read. The connection between Abby and Martin is beautiful. Long distance relationship are very difficult and a lot of work and I liked that it showed in the book.
Nick and Roula are such a fun and sexy pair. I was so excited that they had their own Novella. The way they talk to each other was light and funny. I have to have humor in books and it had that.

I loved this book. It was sexy, hot, romantic and a very good read.

You could easily picture yourself as the characters.

A love story with ups and downs and twists and turns.

It sometimes gripped my heart. Always rooting for the good to happen.

Disappointed when something went wrong.

I loved that the author did not only focus on just the one couple.
She finished it out with the second couple.

Highly recommended.
A very enjoyable story.
Sexy, sweet, sad and touching.

A love story you will enjoy.
Two thumbs up.

Go on, get it now!!!
Enjoy <3 Kim
