What do you get when you combine a rope swing, a raging river and your father's best friend? Your new Daddy, of course.Jack Boone. Wilderness-made, beard thick as the forest he calls home, and—based on the rising…tide in those worn jeans—blessed in ALL the right departments.
He pulls me from certain death only to drown me in feelings I never knew I had. His cabin becomes my playground. His massive body, my new favorite ride. When he touches me, my inner good girl goes deliciously bad.
When he praises me like only a Daddy can, the timber isn't the only thing groaning. My past is hunting me, but between breaking beds and marking me as his new territory, Jack's busy carving a cradle. I expected sanctuary when I fled to these mountains. Instead, I found a grumpy mountain man determined to ruin me.
Turns out, being ruined was exactly what I needed.
Author's Lean in hard to this Wildfire Mountain daddy. He falls first and when these two opposites attract, it's fire and fire and woohoo! It's yummy Daddy fantasy, so hold on, get comfy and let this Boone Brother take you for a ride. Safe, no cheating, and totally obsessed with his girl from the first swing.
Since I was a little girl, I’ve made up stories. I would lay in my bed at night and before I knew what a trope was, I would make up these trope filled stories. Boy sees girl, boys falls for girl, boy saves girl….happily ever after. As I got older, the stories turned steamier and more intricate, but the basics never changed.
Now, my books are still full of romance but the naughty bits are naughtier, my hero’s are obsessed alpha types and my heroines are quirky, real women who come in all shapes and sizes.
So, sit back, banish the real world and get lost in some over the top romance with a heaping helping of hot. xoxoxo
Loved this one! It was deliciously steamy with all the feelzzz!! Little girl lost finds stern grumpy daddy in the mountains. He protects her and keeps her for himself.
Safe. Heros past isn’t mentioned but he’s been celibate for years. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. Small OM drama, no ow. No cheating or sharing or abuse. HEA with epilogue and babies years out
Cute, dirty little read....pretty big age gap....father's best friend...ex-military now mountain man...virgin h...alpha H...DD/lg vibe...Daddy
"Everything on this mountain answers to me." His eyes lock with mine as he carries me up the steps, my body weightless in his arms. "Including you, now. Especially you."
"You want to watch?" His voice drops lower, rougher. "Then watch. Let’s just hope your father isn’t watching from heaven." He looks toward the ceiling, mumbling something about, ‘I’m sorry brother.’
Okay so he's 42, not 45, but I don't think that impacts my statement much, does it?
The more outrageous the age gap, the more I crave maturely intense heroes. I want that overwhelming quiet power of older, settled (made-up) men.
This hero? He's so... chaotic and uncertain.
He wants her but knows he shouldn't and instead of having that battle happen internally (like a real fictional man), he foists that burden onto the heroine by whining about how wrong it is.
Yuck.
I think I've been spoiled by the older heroes from vintage Harlequins. More contemporary older heroes are not hitting like them. ・ ・ ・ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🕮⋆˚࿔✎𓂃 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Delaney is looking for her father’s friend Jack Boone. He made her promise him that she would go to him if she ever needed anything if he is no longer here. What her father didn’t know was that she did need Jacks help and he wasn’t there to help steer her to him. Anyways, a rope up in the mountains Al,ost gets her killed by the river and Jack comes to her aide all angry. Why didn’t the young lady heed his signs not to come near his land. Oh boy are these Boone brothers crazy protective and possessive. He sees a little girl waiting to wear his clothing and do dirty things to her. But she is his best friends daughter. He saw her baby pictures and now he wants to do dirty stuff for her. But Delaney has secrets and will she feel safe enough to tell him her secrets.
Fire about sums up this whole book in one scorcher of a read. Rock solid romance. Packed with the flow of raging emotions. I gotta say I'm in love with Jack. This mountain of a man, tamed by a little spitfire of a girl. Not understanding the dynamics of lust nor safety, both found Home in each other. I really enjoyed this read, I laughed in moments that did not warrant a laugh, I just got tickled by the interactions, fierce, dominate and safe. Rules. Though I wish all the evidence over David had been sent on to the appropriate parties, you know for ⚖️. Can't what for the next Boone to feel shift in the mountain.
It gave me the ICK feeling. The writing was also really repetitive, with lots of spelling and grammar mistakes. It also had a fair amount of inconsistencies, first saying Delaney was in her 20s, then constant changes as to which brother did what. I’ve read so many “daddy” stories, but sometimes they really don’t sit right, and this was one of them. I’d have liked it more if she were a bit older, and they had a bit more time together before the whole *SPOILER* engagement. And sending that stuff about her ex to the hospital and police- he didn’t face any consequences! Arghh
I’ve read Dani before, and I will again, this just wasn’t for me.
4.2 stars. Delaney is 18 years old, scared and alone. She needs help and seeks out the man that her dad told her to go to if there are any problems, Jack. They meet and it involves a rope swing, lol. There are growled words, sass and instant chemistry. This is a Daddy/baby girl story, so if that isn't for you. Don't read this one. Now, if that is something that you do enjoy, you will love this book. Then the bonus is, there are 3 other brothers, so we will get more Boone brothers. Yes!!!
First in the Boone brothers series did not disappoint. Delaney is running from her psycho ex. Jack is former military and just wants to be left alone on his mountain. What follows after they meet is pure magic. Dani has a way of writing both main characters with so many layers that it rips your heart out. Two people who are both strong and flawed and needing to learn to love. I couldn’t put this book down and I can’t wait for the next in series!
I love this trope. Delaney is a FMC who is in need of help from her Ex. The ex is one you'd like to punt into next week. Jack served in the military with her Dad. He is the dream mountain man. There is instant chemistry and heat. I loved Jack and Delaney's Dom/Sub Daddy kink. Quick read with super spicy scenes. Now I'm off to see if I can read about his brother's. I'm sure their stories will be equally hot.
Delaney Hart has lost her father to cancer and in turn has lost everything. She seeks refuge and solace with her dad's best friend from their military days, Jack Boone. Jack lives on Wildfire Mountain and is a bit of a recluse. Delaney is also escaping an abusive ex-boyfriend that isn't quite getting the concept of ex. Jack is having a "hard" time resisting Delaney, but would her dad have sent her his way except than to take care of her in every way possible?
Another amazing book by Dani. This book was so hot I needed a cold shower. This book is all mountain daddy. When Delaney is trouble after her father dies he told her to find Jack Boone. Jack finds Delaney in a dangerous situation and even before he knows who she is he wants her. This is the first book in the Boone brothers standalone series and I can't wait for the next book.
Her father was dying and told her if she needed help to go to his friend Jack. Running away from a man who tried to control her life Delaney went to Jack. There was an instant connection when he saved her from a raging river. They discover home in each other.
Daddy’s Girl, book 1 of the Boone Brother’s series by Dani Wyatt @danieyattauthor. Dani writes great books & I am excited for this new one!
What a great steamy book about Delaney & Jack! Tropes: Contemporary, MF, Daddy Vibes, Dad’s Best Friend, Age Gap, Instalust/Instalove, FMC Ex Drama, No 3rd Act Break Up & HEA!
Delaney and Jack are explosive together. Their relationship is just amazing! I loved them together and how he was so protective of her. Delaney needed help, and Jack was the only one who could help her. Their story is entertaining and addictive. You won't want to stop reading their story. It's so good. The spice and the plot are just great. It's a quick read, but so good.
I love a good fall in love at first sight story. Jack rescues her from the river and never lets her go. He’s her protector, lover and gives her joy everyday. What a good story.
This was very entertaining. Jack was very much a possessive mountain man. He was a no nonsense type of man yet he cared for her deeply. He was very dominant but not in an annoying way. I really enjoyed all the rough around the edges vibe.
I love Jack and Delaney, they're perfect for each other! Such a powerful, wonderful and beautiful healing love story! Soo soo good and soo soo H.O.T I absolutly loved it! Can't wait for Cane's story! 😍❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🥰
Love me a Daddy Dom, but the sadism and degradation are not my jam. To each their own. Also a 24 year age gap is a bridge too far for me. As for the writing style itself there are some jarring transitions in scenes that are poorly executed and inconsistencies in the story.
-dual POV -h(18)/H(42) -no cheating -no separation -OTT alpha hero -virgin heroine -no ow drama -om drama (h's asshole ex) -daddy kink -H celibate for at least 5 years -insta love/lust -epilogue: 1 year and 7 years later -married with 3 kids and another on the way
A little corny, but Delaney goes in search of Jack Boone, her dead father’s friend in the mountains. He is a brute of a mountain man and pulls her out of the river.
He’s summed obsessed with her and takes charge of all things Delaney. He’s text book “daddy.”
I should have liked this. It’s everything I like. Girl in trouble and in the run from her controlling abuse ex gets rescued by her dad’s best friend who becomes her daddy. But, it just didn’t hit, and I can’t say why.
This book is action packed full of heat and smexy romance. I love how strong and gruff Jack is and how brave Delaney is. This book is well written and fun to read.
Absolutely wonderful! Loved every minute of it! Can't wait for the other brothers books! Rarely do Dani's books disappoint. Short, sweet and delicious.
