For over forty years Psychic Medium Kristy Robinett has communicated with thousands of spirits who have shared their experiences with death and what happened afterwards. In It's a Wonderful After Life, Robinett delves into what heaven is like, if there is a hell, and what the transition to the Other Side is like depending upon cause of death (suicide, natural, accidental, illness, etc). With personal experiences and stories from clients, she also discusses the many signs and symbols that our loved ones share with us to assure that it is a wonderful afterlife.
Kristy Robinett (Livonia, MI) is a psychic medium and author who began seeing spirits at the age of three. When she was eight, the spirit of her deceased grandfather helped her escape from a would-be kidnapper, and it was then that Robinett realized the Other Side wasn't so far away. As an adult, she was often called upon by the local police department to examine cold cases in a new light and from a different angle. She gained a solid reputation for being extremely accurate at psychical profiling and giving new perspectives on unsolved crimes. It was then that she began working with a variety of law enforcement agencies, attorneys and private investigators around the United States, aiding in missing persons, arson, and cold cases. Her psychic detective work was recognized in a new series on the ID Network, Restless Souls.
Robinett teaches psychic development and paranormal investigating at local colleges, lectures across the country and is a regular media commentator and has been spotlighted on Coast to Coast, Darkness Radio, ABC News, Fox News and the Ricki Lake Show. She is the author of Forevermore: Guided in Spirit by Edgar Allan Poe; Messenger Between Worlds: True Stories from a Psychic Medium; Higher Intuitions Oracle; Ghosts of Southeast Michigan; and Michigan's Haunted Legends and Lore. It’s a Wonderful Afterlife is about psychic medium Kristy Robinett’s personal experience with communicating with many spirits throughout her many years of work. In this book, she narrates many short stories in which she communicated with those spirits. In some cases, she helped them reconnect with their relatives.
This book and the stories reminded me a lot about a TV show that I used to watch called Ghost Whisperer. What I like about this book is that it makes you question many things about the afterlife. It doesn’t matter what you believe in, it does not matter whether you believe the author and her stories. The questions you will keep asking yourself while reading this are fascinating by themselves. As human beings, we tend to ask about the future and be curious about what might happen after death. The stories here will feed more into that curiosity.
I enjoyed reading this book and I feel the author did a great job with grouping the stories according to their themes and concepts. I feel these stories will be helpful a lot to those readers who have lost a loved one. Coping with own loss is very difficult but knowing that the loved one might be in a better place will bring some comfort.
I needed the (true) stories contained in this book. I miss my dear sweet son so much that I literally ache at times. I can't accept that I have to live in this world without him. I search for answers to where he is now and how/what he is doing. The he many scenarios and experiences that Kristy covers in this book both entertained and educated me. I felt like I was in loving all-knowing company as I read, laughed and cried. When my son was little, he loved Winnie the Pooh stories that we read over and over again. His name was Christopher. I used to call him "Christopher Robin" to get a giggle out of him. I was halfway through this book before I realized the author's name is Kristy Robinett. Another sign... once again, my son is guiding me to the wisdom, love and fun that I need. So, THANK YOU, my little Christopher Robin and dear Kristy Robinett. -Catherine Garner
I have been following Kristy Robinett on her Facebook page for quite a while and I enjoy her down to earth commentary as she deals with new age topics such as psychic readings, mediumship. I have always been interested in stories of life after death so I got her latest book, "It's a Wonderful Afterlife" to see what new stories she would have. I have read her books "Messenger Between Worlds" and “Forevermore: Guided in Spirit by Edgar Allan Poe” and I enjoyed her clear writing style. She tells the stories of people who have lost loved ones and how her abilities help them find comfort as they mourn.
The first part of the book was a repeat of information from her other books and her web page so it was a slow start. The focus of the book is on the signs that we receive from our loved ones after they have passed to the other side. In addition, the stories included messages from those who have passed about the importance of being the best person we can be while still alive. The stories struck a chord with me and brought up memories of some of my struggles and how I continue to work to improve myself and help others around me.
The various signs were interesting, such as finding coins, seeing certain animals, finding feathers and other methods of communication from those who have passed. I must admit to skepticism on some signs, such as calls on cell phones or dimes ‘appearing from nowhere’. However, I have myself received signs that I feel are from my loved ones who have passed that others might doubt, so it is hard for me to judge what comforts other people about their losses.
For people who have lost loved ones to death, this book can provide some comfort with the idea that their loved ones are still there with them and working to communicate with them. For skeptics, I suspect they will doubt the stories and mark them up to coincidences but for those who aren’t sure, the book provides stories that can provide information on whether there is life after death. I found it a good read and the messages did touch me and move me. Because of the repeat of information and a couple of typos, I am marking the book as a 4, but it is a good read for those who have an open mind aobut life after death.
If the title doesn't grab you, that would be surprising. As far as the subject matter goes, I tend to be agnostic on this issue, since my perception-rightly or wrongly, is no one knows what happens after we die.
So while I came to this topic with guarded skepticism the author provided very authentic accounts from a number of people who have had visions and communication with loved ones who have passed.
What I found especially interesting, is how one dies dictates how long the transition is to the other side-the afterlife. For example, and I've heard about this previously,if one commits suicide, the interval of time takes longer for that transition to occur. The duration of time is also different in ones dies from natural causes, or a crime or an accident.
So I came across after reading It's a Wonderful Afterlife-with at least a more open minded view that we don't 'really' die per se, we evolve into a new phase, so to speak.
This was a very enjoyable book. Some of the stories are short and sweet, while some are much more in depth and therefore longer (and more likely to make one cry!). One of the things that I really liked about this book is that it isn't just stories. Part is the author's translation on what happens when we die. The steps we go through and how its not the same for everyone. I also really liked the appendix. It was full of info from meditation techniques to smudging to protection techniques.
I’ve read quite a few books by mediums - some have focused too much on the medium’s personal life, some only focus on the stories of the spirits - I think Kristy Robinett’s book was somewhere in the middle, with a skew towards the latter.
Her writing style was really smooth and easy to read, but about halfway through I started to realize it was an overload of stories told as if verbatim dialogue. It was hard to believe she’s able to recall these stories in such detail, down to the words the people involved with her said, so obviously they have to be fictionalized to some degree (unless she records EVERY conversation, including ones she had on the fly in public).
Also, I found this book dropped from a 4 to a 3 for me when I started to notice details that weren’t quite matching up — a story mentions someone has two sons, and then suddenly they are being helped by their girls instead; the name of a person is spelled differently in different paragraphs; and most strange to me - she states early on (like many other mediums I’ve read and watched) that she doesn’t get clear dialogue and messages from spirits, but symbols she has to work with/through and decipher with their loved ones… but by the stories toward the end of the books she’s have full conversations with spirits and is writing entire letters from them word for word.
At that point, I felt the stories were getting a little too murky. I enjoy hearing about how mediums do things and *some* shared stories, but the overload of stories and complete dialogue from spirits had me questioning how much she actually experienced and how much was padded for the content of the book.
Still, it was a nice read and makes you (or at least me) feel a little better about the afterlife and connections with spirits.
I really liked it. Hadn't heard of her before but would love to meet her and have a reading done. Especially right now when my life is so chaotic; it'd be interesting to see what anyone from the other side has to say about it lol.
Anyway, what I really loved about the book is that it's very simply told and the stories are grouped in sections as examples of each concept she's explaining. For example, the chapter "Music" is about how music can play a role as a sign from a passed loved one, and how it can also be a connection.
At the end of the book she has a nice appendix of tools you can use and do to get more in touch with your own psychic senses.
Oh, and my favorite stories was the one on p118 about Jack Froese' email and also "The Wedding Dress" on p73. Those are the craziest and most fun lol!
I am a nurse and I see people die quite often. It can wear on me especially when the death is long and painful. I wanted to read a book that dove more into the afterlife and tried to explain what happens to our souls and the dying process. There were more stories of proof that loved ones send signs. I get the whole sign thing, but honestly it doesn't do much for my belief in the afterlife. I just didn't feel like this book really answered my questions.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The author gives interesting insights into life after death and we the living can contact our loved ones who have passed on. I really liked in the appendix how the author gives advice on how to cleanse your aura and she teaches you how you too can contact your loved ones on the other side!
This is a book that will take you on an heart tugging rollercoaster! Filled with inspirational stories from the other side giving hope that loved ones are there when you need them and it reminded to stop, look for signs from those that crossed over. Loved it!
Absolutely loved it! I follow Kristy on Facebook and have had a group reading with her...her personality shines through in her books! You can feel her love for the gift she has been given. Never fails that her words touch me when I need them most!!!
Everyone should read this book. I really enjoyed it and will read it again.. I wish I could meet the author . Reading this book the author hit on a lot of feelings I've have had..
Great read if you are wondering about the afterlife and missing loved ones who have passed away. I have always felt that my loved ones were leaving me signs that they are still around me in spirit, this book reinforced that believe. The signs I've been given make sense now.
This is my first time reading Kristi's book. I find the book easy to read and not too corny. I think the phrase "to each his own" is appropriate here when it comes to metaphysical subject. It helps me with my grief.
It's nice to know we have a better place to go when we die. No pain and we get to see our loved ones again. This book has helped me through my own struggles and I hope it well help others as well.
I loved this book! Once again Kristy has out done herself. Love all her books, they are all so interesting. I had a hard time putting this book down. Great job Kristy!! Looking forward to her next.
