With Silver Girls under Lilly's management, the Moroad MC taking favors from Bantorus, and the militia's orders skyrocketing, Ink's time is running out. He's living a beautiful war full of addictions, rules, and heartbreak, and the only one who can save him is Lilly.

Hero & heroine "secretly" together, but hero screws around constantly on the heroine for YEARS whilst at the same time randomly hooking up with her also in between his many women over 4 years & she accepts this even though they're supposed to be so in love & she waits for him without cheating around. Crap "love" story.

I was sad to read this last book in this series. Since I've read all of the books (8) I felt like I knew all of the characters and felt a connection to all of them. Breathing His Air (Bantorus MC, #1) by Debra Kayn started this series with Rain and Tori's story, which includes the birth of their daughter Lilly. There are children of the members that we see grow up during the series and it is fitting that the last book in the series ends with Lilly's story. I would also like to say that IMO the author's writing improved noticeably with each book I read in the series. This book drew me in and made me hurt for Lilly and Ink and their star crossed path over the years. They surmounted all of the barriers and the author delivered a love story that touched me.
Ink is 12 years older than Lilly. He first met Lilly as a young child when he joined the club after being shunted from foster home to foster home. He has never had anyone love him and has carried some deep emotional baggage around for years. As a child, Lilly was spoiled and used to getting her own way, however she grew into a strong, independent woman with common sense and strong business acumen after being tutored by her father. Lilly started following Ink around as a pre-teen and harassed him with her attention. She was 12, he was 24. Three months after her 18th birthday she chases him relentlessly until he succumbs and they have sex. He subsequently leaves the Pitnam club and moves to Federal where he joins the new chapter. He does this to put distance between himself and Lilly. Prior to leaving the mother chapter, he asks Rain for Lilly but Rain refuses and says Ink is not good enough for Lilly. Lilly follows Ink to the new chapter and refuses to accept the fact that she and Ink cannot have an open, committed relationship. Ink fights it but then gives in because he knows Lilly is it for him. He is selfless in his pursuit to prove he loves Lilly and will always love and protect her. I felt Ink and Lilly's pain as they struggled to remove the barriers to their love. The strong ties of family and the love they both have for all of the MC members takes a heavy toll on their love. Ink is ready to give up the club if necessary to be with Lilly and Lilly is ready to turn her back also to be with Ink.
Some readers will most likely not like the fact that the relationship between Ink and Lilly was first established when she was 12. I didn't have a problem because there was no sexual relationship until she was over 18 and reading her character throughout the series I could tell she was mature beyond her years.
I loved the way the author developed this story and was so glad that I was familiar with all of the supporting characters. It is a complete stand-alone and even though knowing all the characters from the other stories I would still say the book can be read without reading the entire series. There is a HEA and IMO Ink does not cheat after he commits to winning Lilly's hand.
I look forward to the new Moroad MC series after being introduced to that book's characters in this book.
I highly recommend this book for readers who like a MC romance with strong, hot alpha males and a real love story with likable characters.

The perfect ending to one of the best series that I have read in a while. Debra Kayn’s Bantorus MC books have all been full of excitement and passion. This one tops them all. It wraps up the series on a high note. Of course I will miss these characters. But I was left with the feeling that everything had been completed. Sometimes you read a series and it ends with all sorts of questions. This book ended it all very well. Plus, it gives a peek of the next series coming which I am excited to read too.

Lilly and Ink’s story goes way back to when Lilly was only 12 years old. She fell in love with Ink but knew she could never be with him. For one thing, he was much older than her. The other, she was the club president’s daughter. She was off limits to all of the members. This didn’t stop Ink from falling in love with her. And now, he will do anything he can to have her. They are tired of hiding their feelings from everyone and seeing each other only in private. The time has come for Ink to step up and express his feelings no matter what happens. He is willing to give up the only family he has known, his Bantorus brothers, just to be with Lilly.

The passion between Lilly and Ink was written so well, my heart went out to them both. I was cheering them on the entire way through the book. I couldn’t wait for them to be together. I loved this book.

I don't read many biker stories but author Debra Kayn has gotten me addicted to her Bantorus MC series and her bikers. Living a Beautiful War was simply AMAZING and beautifully written story from beginning to end; the author wrote powerful and emotional scenes throughout the book that touched me deeply. It was so profound that I could not stop thinking about the story after I've reached "the end". The love story of Ink and Lilly captured my heart and never let it go, the depth of their love for each other was just breathtaking. I really connected with these two characters and I could feel their struggle to be together despite club rules that stood in their way. I really enjoyed the sexual tension between Ink and Lilly when they were anywhere near each other; the atmosphere just sizzled with all that pent up passion that ended in some very scorching kisses or hot sex scenes that left me breathless and swooning. I loved that Ink would risk everything to be with Lilly and literally had to fight her dad to claim her as his. I adored Lilly who never backed down from what she wanted and stood by her man. These two were perfect for each other and it was the perfect ending to an incredible series.

Effing FINALLY Ink's story been begging Debra to give me this boy's story and FINALLY she listened! Ink he's a passionate man, "I've got time to eff you." He tilted his head. "No one needs to know. They're all inside having a good time, and won't even notice that I ditched the party." I was kind of uneasy I knew Ink and Lilly had to keep their relationship if that's what you call it I call it just slinking around having sex and being sneaky, but I didn't realize how it would make me feel, I don't like secrets, so the first part of the book which I've probably said twice now as I'm blabbing made me uneasy. It's quite obvious Ink can't get enough of Lilly, "let's skip breakfast and go up to my room," he said, grabbing her a** and rocking his pelvis against her." Once the secret was out it was a big sigh of relief and I enjoyed the book so much more, I like it when a man steps up and takes care of his s***, "whatever happens, Ace. You're in my bed tonight. Whether it's in the club or we get a hotel room in town, you'll be on the back of my Harley and everyone will know you're my woman." I'm kind of intrigued by these new characters Katie and cam I'm kinda sensing something going on between those two and I'm hoping Debra acts on my sense and writes a book for them.

Great ending for the series.

Wild women, good times, and easy rides allow Ink to hide the emotional ties he has with Lilly, the daughter of the president of Bantorus Motorcycle Club. With two warnings to stay away from Lilly on his record, his addiction swings wildly out of control and he can no longer bury the past. This time, she wonders if it wouldn't be best to point her boots toward Pitnam and live the rest of her life knowing she'll never have the one man she loves.

I was cheering for them all the time. The club rules were put in place to keep people out of trouble but Ink and Lilly found trouble anyway.
It was fun to read about Lilly infatuation from 12 years old for Ink, funnier was that a little child knew what she is going to do: be with Ink.
The one who needed to grow in the end was Ink. He needed time to know that he was the one for Lilly and then fight for her.
Their stolen moments made me smile as well as the treats that Ink go.
Nice read.

I have loved the Bantorus MC from the first book, Breathing His Air. Debra Kayn has written a fantastic, complete series that really shows the brotherhood of club life. It's not all pretty, or glamorized and has quite a few OMG areas. It's not blood and gore but you know when something really bad is going to happen.
In Living a Beautiful War we are seeing the end of 20+ years of this close MC family. Throughout the series we've seen one of the main characters born and raised and fall in love. She never wavered and held strong while he lived his life of a single man with plenty of attention.
I loved Lilly's strength and how she held fast even when her father tried to keep her and Ink apart. She finally took control and moved toward what she wanted.
Ink was so strong to resist Lilly for her own good. His life was so screwed up, he didn't want to pull her down into his past.
I love everything Debra Kayn writes. She is spot on with her characters emotions and clear with her writing. There are no loose ends or wandering story lines.
This series is a definite must read!

Bantorus MC by Debra Kahn is a highly entertaining, well written series & is, imho, a must read. It's a biker series but it is so much more; great characters - some endearingly quirky, totally hot Alpha men, strong, funny, independent women, well-crafted story lines & very hot encounters! Ink & Lilly faced seemingly insurmountable problems for so many years, it's hard to imagine. He's a broken wounded man desperate to stay with his MC family & claim his woman. Lilly's waited & waited but can't let him go. The overwhelming opposition to them being together is the club rules & her father refuses to allow Ink to be with her.
Rain's behaviour was extremely irritating, especially as he & his wife were the stars of book 1 in the series. He went from charming to hypocrite, having showed such empathy & leadership throughout the series, it was hard to fathom! But Debra Kayn's skill in presenting this conflict was brilliant.
Eight books & it's been an unforgettable ride - read this series, it's so worth the time & effort. Loved it.

OMG DEB!! Damn you woman!!! My heart broke for Ink & Lilly...and especially for Ink...you absolutely gutted me! I had to sit there for a good while afterwards just to digest it all! But I fucking LOVED it!! Not only that there are a few parts that got me all misty-eyed and shit...and damnit I don't do misty-eyed at all! Which should tell you something, lol! I loved how you tied it all together and brought them in as one big unit at their first Federal rally! It was all very fitting and although it was bittersweet because this closed out the Bantorus series (which I absolutely LOVE). I am looking forward to the next series of the Moroad MC! Thank you Bantorus MC for the ride!!

Loved Loved it!! I couldn't wait to read when I found out this book was coming out. Storyline was well written, emotional and hot as hell. OMG! I definitely had tears with this one. Ink and Lilly's story was simply breathtaking and one of the most heartfelt love stories I've read this year. They truly deserved to be together. At times my heart ached for them especially Ink who faced demons daily and didn't feel worthy of Lilly. They had a long lasting connection, passionate chemistry and undying love despite obstacles they faced every step of the way. I hated for this series to end. Would recommend.

The first romance book that I bought to read at KU. This was when it was all MF, all the time, in my romance reading and MC books were the bomb. The author writes a good story. Now, I rarely read a story with this type plot line or characters. Funny how reading tastes change.
If you’re into MF and MC romance, Debra Kayn is one of the best. The Moroad and Bantorus books are memorable.

"Anyone with half a brain can see that you've loved Ink since you were a little girl. Someday, he'll realize what a great girl is standing in front of him and fight for you."
This story touched me to my core. It brought full circle the journey from Rain in book 1 to his daughter Lilly in book 8. Lilly is used to getting what she wanted until she wanted her father's MC brother - Ink. Ink touched my heart. He has always been so nonchalant - a guy you knew, but really didn't know beyond the surface. His name Ink wasn't just his road name, but who he is. Even the name symbolizes what he uses to cover up his pain. This is such a big part of the storyline that I don't want to delve too much into it, but just know Ink will touch your soul.
"He wasn't good enough for Lilly.
His birth mother had uttered the same words to him when she handed him over to social services when he was five years old. In the twenty-something foster homes he lived in growing up, he'd stopped counting how many times he, Travis Johnson, was described as a bad influence to others in the family, a lost cause, a sad excuse for a boy."
Ink broke my heart from the young boy to the man he became - never thinking he was good enough. Falling in love with the President's daughter didn't help his cause either. You wanted to hug and take away his hurt while not having any other choice, but continuing to read.
"You're mine. I'm not going to let anyone come between us, whether you're wearing my stamp or not, Ace," he said, his voice raw and husky. "Do not go to someone else, when I can give you everything you need. You own my heart...don't break it by doing something because you're pissed off at me."
Ink and Lilly were always meant to be together, but, again, being the President's daughter made it next to impossible. Ink already had insecurities and being told he wasn't good enough was almost more than he could bear. Their relationship was shut down from the start, but let's face it no one that came to claim Lilly was ever going to be good enough in Rain's eyes.
"I've wanted to come to you and give you the security of knowing she'll never go a day without her family, her club, and my love. To do that, I need your permission to make her my woman. You need to know that whether you give me your permission or nor, I don't plan to turn my back on Lilly. She is it for me."
This book is about family, love and acceptance. What we all strive for and hope we reach with those we love. Everyone knows what a fan I am of Debra Kayn. This book really showed her range on digging deep and making us feel for the characters more than I thought was possible. I was the first one, after reading, that told Debra that I had doubts on how this was all going to play out. She made it more amazing then I ever thought it could be. She added more layers to these characters that had you feeling every emotion while reading. It is not your typical MC book, but again with Debra Kayn's books she sets the bar high and delivers an awesome, emotional, entertaining read every time.
With this being the last in the Bantorus MC, she really brought it full circle. She gave us a glimpse on where everyone is now & introduces us to a new MC that will set us off on a new adventure. This MC will be different and you know with every DK book it will be original and nothing like you ever read. The symbolism's that she uses in all her books, especially this one, shows her passion as a writer. With her 30th published book, you know is that author that delivers a book and characters that you will remember long after you are done. If you haven't read Debra Kayn, you are missing out on an exceptional writer who knows how to pack an emotional punch that will leave you with the best kind of book hangover.

The last book in this series Debra Kayn wraps up this part or her lastest MC series with Ink and Lilly. Neither character started out in this series so we've seen them elsewhere but much younger back then. For fans of Ms.Kayn writing of course they have been waiting to see if these two will eventually end up together or not. In motorcycle club life Lilly and Ink are not permitted to be together as anything more than friends. They've been that for a long time and in recent years more. Lilly had a crush on him from her youth that simply never went away and grew into more. Considering club rules and the fact that Ink is quite a few years older than her. Seems like most times everyone is against them and then Lilly's parents show up. Everything comes to a head and lives will change one way or another. This might sound like a simple explanation but i assure it's not. Ink for me has been a mystery. Wasn't ever sure if i liked him but also men in this books are always a bit rough around the edges. It's the women who smooth them out. Watching as the layers are peeled back on Ink and seeing what Lilly does for him and how she gets him is great and how protective Ink is of her without holding her back is breathtaking. Loved the wrap up this series and seeing Rain is bittersweet because i remember him from the first book oh his series Breathing his Air. Hard to see him as a dad with a grown daughter. If you missed any of books in this series or are interested in starting there is plenty of time to get into it. If you want to see what's next there is another series starting soon branching off from this one. If you like the Motorcycle club type books you can't go wrong here. They each have a HEA so start at the beginning or not you should be satisfied.

*After the Lilly and her mom Tori got into the conversation Rain finally let up and told Ink that if he ever made his daughter cry that he wouldn't think twice of killing him. At the end of the story and one of the Silver Girls' bf escaped from prison and was on the run and he held her and Lilly hostage and then Ink finding oh there was something wrong and him and the first riders getting into the building and finding Lilly had the guy tied up and a pistol pointed at his head was amazing. I love the fact that she is the type of woman that knows how to handle herself. I absolutely loved this story and only wish that the story continued because I would love to read about Sawyer! I am kind of excited to read about Cam, president of Moroad MC!!!

Wow...what a good read that was! I was actually gifted this book in a giveaway and it was only my second book in the entire series to read, so I understand that it was the last of the Bantorus MC series and now the author will be writing about Moroad MC, who we are introduced to in this book. It was interesting and exciting and contained enough background information on the rest of the club members, that now I want to read their books as well...even after the fact.
This book was about Ink and Lilly and their long relationship which started when she was a 12 year old girl crushing on the 24 year old biker who was a member of her dad's club. NO...there was no inappropriate touching or child molestation...just a girl's crush that spanned from the age of 12 until she turned 18 when something huge happens between them to forever alter their futures. Now Lilly is 22 when the book starts and Ink is 34 and the age is not so much a thing, but it more has to do with the fact that her dad does NOT think Ink is good enough for his little girl and has refused to give his blessing. This causes all kinds of clandestine moments between them and deception that could cost Ink not only his patches, but maybe his life. But love and passion are worth fighting for and this story is all about those strong bonds between a man and a woman and how far some are willing to go to find true and ever-lasting love.
I really liked this one a lot and will try to read the earlier books when time permits (and especially if they go on sale!).

Powerhouse Love Story

Living a Beautiful War is a potent, deeply emotional, magnetic love story. The special bond Lily and Ink share touched my heart. Actually, their entire journey blew me away. I had a lump in my throat throughout the book.
Lily, now twenty two, has been in love with Ink since she was twelve. Her father, Rain, the president of the Bantorus MC has forbidden a relationship between them. Ink is the only man Lily has ever loved. Every biker knows how Lily feels about him. Ink constantly fights to keep his feelings for Lily hidden. To go against a direct order would be the end of his time with his Bantorus brothers and they are the only family he has ever known.
Yes, forbidden love is exciting but the consequences they both would have to endure, if caught, would be life altering for both of them. Is love worth losing everything?
I know all good things must come to an end and according to the author this story was the final book in the Bantorus MC series. The thought of never reading another word about these mesmerizing men breaks my heart. Author Debra Kayn has written eight books in this series and all of them are 5* stories, which in itself is quite an accomplishment. The Bantorus MC Series is the best collection of biker books on the market. Debra, you are an amazing literary treasure, keep the books coming.

Unfortunately, the review I did last night on my Kindle just disappeared. Why does that happen?
---

This book is wonderful. And a wonderful conclusion to the Bantorus MC saga by Kayn. Lilly has been in love with Ink for years, and she's the only one who makes Ink feel like he is worth something. Their sneaking around in this book was hot but sad in a way. Life in a MC for the MC pres's daughter is not an easy one, but Lilly is making so much of herself by taking over the Silver Ladies as their manager. Now, she really wants Ink to step up and be her man.

This book is quite character-driven although we see some of the daily workings of the MC. Definitely not as much blood shed as when the Los Li were trying to wipe the Bantorus crew out. There are some surprises, especially about Ink and why he tattoos. No spoilers, though.

Kayn says this is the last Bantorus book, but I'm hoping as she starts her new series about the Moroad MC (which is located in the same place as the Bantorus, Federal Way branch) that we see more of the Bantorus crew every once in a while.

I'm so happy I found this series, and I am so sad it's over.

Thanks for reading!

I quite enjoyed Ink and Lilli; what a story! They turned out to be such a HOT couple. I love Rain but I'm so glad that Ink was (finally) able to fight for what he wanted so badly - that being Lilli. After the 'tussle' I could feel the respect between Ink and Rain. Ink had so much to overcome in his life and thankfully he finally felt the love of a family, and HIS woman.

This is a bit bittersweet, as a reader. The last book in a beloved series is always a bit sad to read and I'm so happy that there is a 'spin-off' series for the Moroad Motorcycle Club. From what I gather in this book; there are some mighty FINE men to be found among the Moroad guys.

Kudos to Ms. Kayn for creating such an entertaining and wonderfully written MC series......I truly have loved each BANTORUS book.
Thank you.

I tried reading Debra Kayn once before and couldn't stomach the characters. Normally I don't give DNF authors another chance, but this story intrigued me.
After 8 books in this series, the author's writing style is still awkward and murky. Lots of telling and very little showing. Even so there was something charming enough about Lilly to push through all the angst that is written and reworded over and over. Ink seemed a bit spineless, I kept thinking "man the fuck up, you douche!" But he finally does and it's nice.
One thing I did like is the authentic "feel" of the MC attitude in this book. The author strikes a good balance between overbearing pigs and outlaw men.

I've read all her books andhe's this one is tt oseehe last in the series, I fell in love with her first with Rain and Tor's story and this one is about their daughter lilly falling in love with Ink at the age of 12 and he was 24. I loved this book of beginning to the very end and how Lilly never gave-up on Link and finally he realizes that he's a good man and worthy of Lilly's love. I'm sad for this series to end but I know Debra has a new coming and she will never let her readers done, can't wait for her new series and what she has in store for us.

It took me almost 2 months to finally bring myself to read Living A Beautiful War. I couldn't and wouldn't say goodbye to the men and women of Bantorus MC. As I read "Let's roll" for the last time, it gave me such bittersweet feelings. This story is such a fit ending. Debra's writing is spot on and boy could she wring every emotion from her readers.

Thank you Debra for this series. I look forward to the new journey that is Moroad MC.

Loved this series. It seems fitting that the last book ends with Lilly and Ink. Can you imagine knowing at 12 that you've met your other half...actually in real life I can:) poor Ink, he really thought he wasn't good enough when in actuality he was perfect. If you haven't read any of this series, I highly recommend them.

Really like this one also but sad that the series is now over. It was inevitable that Ink and Lily would end up being together it was just a matter of how that was going to happen. Good introduction of the Moroad MC - going to start that one and I have a feeling its going to be a lot more darker and grittier than the Bantorus MC.

I am sad to see this series end and this was a great book to end with. We get to see Lilly get her man the "male whore " Ink. This book we get the story behind Lilly and Ink. It seems that their love started years ago and grew into so much more. I won't give an specifics or any spoilers.
