Geez, I thought Tristian was the one who needed help, but Evie needs way more than therapy, and I mean way more! YIKES! The crazy journey of Evie left me speechless. If you're easily offended, run far, far away from this book, but if you're down for a wild ride, hop on in and enjoy the train wreck of a good time! I hope there's a third book! I highly recommend it to horror fans.

While reading this book I forgot rule #1 Do not eat any food while reading this book. New Rule .. #2 don’t eat food and be full while reading this book. Needless to say I had pizza and thought it was a good idea to start reading this book, it was not a good idea. Within the first page I was gagging I had to stop reading this book.

This book follows our favorite odd sister, Evie. She has gotten used to the taste of her brother, Tristian. Sadly she can’t find anything that comes close to her brother’s exquisite taste. What is a woman to do when she has a refined taste? Follow Evie on her journey into the descent of discovering her self.

Three words to describe this book: Devious, Gross, and Twisted.

This book was sick and downright disgusting but I enjoyed every moment of it. This book has a lot of triggers so definitely read those before reading this book. I’m not sure how Lesley was able to write this book but I’m glad she did.

Thank you Lesley, for providing me a copy of this book. 🖤

I finished this while eating oatmeal. Regret. Deep regret. Please don’t do that.

This is a short, weird, grotesque, horrible story—and I mean that with love.

It starts off deceptively simple: a girl chasing the taste of the most perfect meal she’s ever had. Totally relatable, right? Except… well, her idea of “perfect” involves a little bit of murder and a whole lot of cannibalism. You know how it is; it’s okay, we don’t judge here.

Themes? Oh, we’re diving into the cycle of consumption: of love, of youth, of family. Nature kills its mate post-coitus (and the symbolic meaning behind this). Humans just find more creative ways to self-destruct. And women having control and say over their choices and their bodies.

And let me just say: SKULL SNIFFING. Yes. Let’s. Fucking. Go.

Oh…crossovers! 10/10

well... Evie’s story is an example of evolution...a voracious appetite for human flesh...bizarre, sexual, familiar and spontaneous story...all the ingredients I like!
For me it's the third book by this author... a quick and addictive read... I recommend it to anyone who identifies with the genre.!

I devoured this book like Evie did her meals. This follow-up to Ingest Me did not disappoint. I was not expecting that ending at all, but it was a great way to wrap up what Evie was craving. Grotesque, disgusting and gory, all the things you need from this genre. Lesley is great at what she does, and I can't wait for whatever dark story she creates next

ARC reading:
More of a graphic dive into Evie now being the lead in this. It's an interesting evolution from Ingest Me and I couldn't stop reading. Again, yet another I wanted a slower, longer read with how well written and described throughout. Looking forward to adding more books to my TBR ❤️

Our favorite, youngest cannibal ever is baaaaaack!! 🔥 Evie is hungry and she’s longing for the exact same extraordinary flavors her brother once created.

Just as Evie devours meat and other human secretions, I devour the books of Lesley A. Camphouse. What a disturbingly revolting, but excellent sequel Lesley has managed to write with Ingest Me, too. This one is even better than part 1, if that’s even possible. With rapidly blinking eyes, my heart pounding in my throat from excitement and all my senses alert, I have absorbed this sequel and I just looooved to meet this old acquaintance from a previous story again. That was such a surprise! 💜

I always think I have read all of the disgusting and gory details possible, but Lesley always knows how to shock me to my core time after time. I gagged and laughed out loud at the same time at certain scenes. 👌🏼😂 Her stories will never get boring, I will never stop reading them and I don’t think I can ever eat a sandwich again without thinking about the things Evie put between them. 🤯😂 Thank you very much for the ARC Lesley. I’m so grateful and it’s always a pleasure to see them appear in my email. 🖤🫶🏼

Once again, I am in complete awe of Lesley!

This book directly followed the events of INGEST ME, and if I understood correctly, has spanned several years. Without spoiling anything, sequels sometimes get a bad rep for being not as good as their predecessors, but I love this one just as much, if not more. Much like Evie's appetite knows no limits and must be sated no matter what, so is my hunger for more of Lesley's stories! And boy, does the queen keep us happy and well-fed!

I finished reading "Ingest Me, Too" by Lesley Camphouse tonight. It is also known as "The Communion Duet Book 2". The main character is Evie, the half-sister of Tristan who was the main focus of the first part " The Communion Duet Book 1".

The foundation of Evie's emotions and more significantly her actions are clearly explained in the climax of Book 1.

Part 2 features an unhinged Evie driven by a singular need to taste her half-brother Tristan again. It is safe to surmise that his own whole blood mixed with the red topping of his birthday cake was the most unadulterated and most potent "taste" of Tristan she had ever ingested. It is not completely clear why that Evie's escalating withdrawal from "anything Kristan" resulted in an unfettered lust for flesh. I am able to grudgingly accept that "the icing on the cake" coupled with her ensuing raging need to literally eat him piece by piece was connected.

In effect, Evie was "chasing a high" which once experienced by cannabilizing the flesh of her dying step-brother could never be achieved again. Evie was relating some of her experiences in retrospect so the reader is aware that her need is building while there is simultaneously a genuine need for calories and edible substances to fuel her body. It is difficult though to fully grasp the overiding need of a 9 year old little girl to obsess about eating the flesh of her brother, like when she dreams of a steak cut from his leg topped with the warm blood from his veins.

Psychosis claiming Evie is not a bridge too far. Starving, obsessing, and her mind untethered from such irrelevent concepts as behavioal restraint, the legal law prohibiting her deranged behavior, or a moral compass.

That said, Evie's indiscriminate "tasting" exercises to find a comparison to the flesh she savored from Tristan's body and bones are so sloppy, unplanned, and gory that her confinement was a given.
The cameo appearance of Polly was a colorful addition to the narrative. The 9 year old Evie planning her kills was rudimentary, and her death defying tryst with a cold hearted killer wearing an orderly's guise was both sick and more ineptitude from the deranged child Evie.

I am arriving at the jump off point of my inability to suspend belief any longer and my continued acceptance of a 9-yr old serial killer selling her innocence for an anonymous bag of blood and bones that could hold the winning lottery ticket. Evie remains indifferent to mutilation murder and consuming flesh of a corpse, parents included.

Polly's cameo becomes a walk on part when 9 yr old Evie gets to see bloodletting transformed intk something else entirely. It suggests Evie may vary her approaches to gratification.

The twist at the end would only have been a surprise if it did not happen to play out the way it did.

It is not my opinion that Part 2 had any obligation to meet a definition of Splatterpunk. The extreme horror was outstanding but no need to tack on superlatives. This author is a very talented writer and I enjoy her style. Part 2 which was an extension of Part 1 to inform the reader what happened to mom and pop of the year and innocent little victim Evie. Again it was well written but I felt it was disjointed and that scenes did not flow coherently for me yet the pacing was generally sound until the narrative felt like the author chopped it off at the neck. More may have been better, maybe not.
I awarded 3 Stars for this Part 2 of The Communion.

When you’ve grown up with a taste for your brother, how do you continue on when he’s no longer around?

Where Tristan was the absolute grossest human being, Evie is like an animal that can’t be caged. Their family genes should probably be studied honestly.

This is equally as gross as the first book, but in some slightly different ways. As always with Lesley’s books, the ending is completely unhinged and unpredictable. There’s also a really nice crossover with a character from another book again, and I’m so excited to see where that goes!

I've finished reading my ARC copy of 'Ingest me, too' written by Lesley Camphouse. This is an extreme horror and the second book of the Communion duet.

"I'll show her what kind of monster she made."

If you want to read this, you need a strong stomach. Less than the first book, but still strong. It's a duet, so I don't expect a third book, but I would definitely sign up to read it.

"Don't ask questions you're not ready to hear the answer to yet."

This book is about Evie. Evie was used to her brother feeding her, but with him no longer here, she has to find the taste she loves somewhere else. That seems to be a hard task to fulfil, especially with her parents locking her away. Will Evie get what she wants, needs and craves?

"You're fucking demon spawn."

This story is about the consequences of conditioning and addiction. The story is among others about hate, longing, loss and the effect all of these things have on a young girl and how these things develop when she grows into a young woman.

"I need this. I need to swallow him to function."

I enjoyed this short story that again felt like a complete story, although kinda with an open ending. I give it four stars.

4/5🍒

Evie is having a hard time letting Tristian go after his unfortunate passing. Specially his body, his fluid and his solids. She became addicted to his special food. She missed the taste of him.

She frantically begins to try and find someone who can replicate Tristan’s taste. She even goes after her teacher in desperation but that’s not even the worst thing she will do to get what she NEEDS.

She is sent away by her parents after her outburst at school and meets some peculiar people there who pique her interest. She needs to get out of the hospital to continue her search for the right taste. How far will she go to make it out of the hospital and make it back into the world to find her Tristan replacement?

This books was better than the first in my opinion. I enjoyed Evie’s story a lot more than Tristian’s. Of course Lesley never disappoints. Grab this book on June 25th 2025!!!!

Okay folks… I’m back 🫠

WHAT IN THE WORLD DID I JUST READ??
Seriously. I’m still processing.

After the events of Ingest Me, we follow Evie — and let me tell you, this girl is LITERALLY addicted to her brother. Like… actually.
We know Tristan used to feed her parts of himself, right? So now, if her food doesn’t taste like him, she simply won’t eat.
Her parents? Yeah… they saved pieces of him for her to consume. (I know, I know — it’s gross, but we’re here for it 💀)

Of course, that “supply” doesn’t last forever…

One day, Evie bites her teacher just to check if he tastes like Tristan (spoiler: he doesn’t — shocker). She gets expelled and sent to a hospital, but you guessed it… she escapes 🏃‍♀️

Evie then starts thinking maybe the teacher didn’t taste right because he was old… so she turns to dating apps to hunt younger guys.

From that point on?
Absolute madness.
I had to pause multiple times just to let my brain catch up because I was SO. FREAKING. SHOCKED. 😳🧠

And the ending????
BABY. YOU. WILL. NOT. SEE. IT. COMING.

Evie girl, you’re an unhinged, feral, savage. I love you

Another Camphouse masterpiece.

Injest Me was the first of Lesley’s books I devoured (pun intended) and when I heard she was releasing a sequel I just had to read it.

Tristan has long gone but Evie still needs to taste him. With her mother and father having destroyed any remains of him (including his favourite seasonings) Evie must take it upon herself to find her next fix.

After managing to hack into Tristan’s computer she soon discovers that he has a secret stash…but once it’s gone then there is nothing left.

When you’re an addict and you need a fix you’ll do anything. Evie needs her fix and she needs it bad, so bad in fact that she attacks her teacher and ends up being locked away.

When she finally escapes Evie sets out trying to find her new Tristan.

Sandwiches, skull sniffing, and needling….how the mind of Lesley works I’ll never know but I can’t wait for the next instalment

i liked this one a little bit more cause it wasnt as vulgar but still was disgusting. i liked how she killed those people (yeah it was basically unnecessary but it was really all she knew). in the end it wouldve been better if she started to eat herself instead of her baby, like yeah it was barely cells but blech yk.

HERE WE GO AGAIN, it’s me back with another review that probably isn’t written well and doesn’t do the book as much justice as it should !

ANYWAYS, I was lucky to receive another arc copy for this book as I had with Ingest me! BLESS.

SO, yeah? We thought Tristian was a little sicko…well, he somehow made Evie just as sick if not sicker in how own little way these siblings end up being the most creative little things I have ever come across and I’m so glad I got to read these books.

Slight spoiler: Lip sandwich with discharge sauce yeah well thanks for that 😂 Another job well done Lesley five stars all around the board.

I enjoyed the first book and it stuck in my mind for ages after (so much so that I changed my 3.5 star rating to 4 stars). This one was a even better. I love the direction the author took the story. It was unique, funny and disgusting. And that ending... what did I just read??? Hahaha

I was so lucky to get an ARC of this book. Thank you 😊

Nothing tastes as good as my brother... 🥩

Picks up where the first one left off. Evie and her particular tastes that have developed from Tristan tainting all her food with parts of him... Disturbing, disgusting, and yet wonderfully enjoyable. Do not eat while reading 😂

Well Lesley has done it again I can’t help but enjoy every character she creates the cameo appearance was a welcomed surprise and with them being in another recent read makes me wonder if all of these female characters may assemble like the avengers?

This book was fast paced and vividly descriptive I could feel Evie’s struggle and frustration at not quite getting the right balance of flavour but what an ending a true queen of splatterpunk I will read whatever Lesley writes

“ They both knew very well what was wrong with me, what they had taken from me, and what they had molded me into.”

Poor Evie is struggling to recover from the loss of her brother Tristan. More than anything she misses the way he tasted. Evie, is on a mission to finding someone that tastes just like him. She will stop at nothing to fill her appetite. Camphouse has once again created a vile and grotesque story. Book 1 is not required to enjoy this book but I highly recommend reading it first .
